    Episode 241: Resident Evil

We're back into the world of video games this week with a look at the expansive Resident Evil franchise with the main discussion being the Paul W.S. Anderson films but with talks about the animated films, the 2021 Welcome to Raccoon City and the games of course.

  2. 246

    Episode 240: Fall

Apologies for the fairly late release this week.   We do talk about the 2022 film Fall but we spend a lot more time on our own personal fears, rollercoasters and generally dangerous situations.

  3. 245

    Episode 239: Space Jam

Looking at the world of Looney Tunes this week with the 90s childhood favourite in Space Jam and it's fairly unneeded sequel. We also get into 90s music, shoes and basketball (naturally).

  4. 244

    Episode 238: The Martian

This is one of the episodes that has been a long time coming with a look at The Martian as well as talking about Ridley Scott's career and the recent adaptation of Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary.

  5. 243

    Episode 237: Matt Johnson

We did Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie earlier this year so we might as well look at the rest of Matt Johnson's career especially because he's got a new film out soon, Tony.

  6. 242

    Episode 236: Taxi Driver

One of the real classics this week as we look back at the Scorsese film Taxi Driver to tie into the film's 50th anniversary. We get into how the film has been misinterpreted, other classics and Quentin Tarantino.

  7. 241

    Episode 235: Oppenheimer

We did all of Nolan's other films when Oppenheimer released but now it's time to properly discuss and look at Oppenheimer with 3 years of hindsight before looking ahead to The Odyssey.

  8. 240

Diving back into the Evil Dead franchise with a look at the last release, Evil Dead Rise, as the newest film in the franchise, Evil Dead Burn, finally releases. We also get into the other Evil Dead films, where the next one should be set and upcoming 2026 releases.

  13. 235

Episode 229: The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, Obsession

Just as a preface, this episode was supposed to be out last week but it has been delayed to this week so apologies if some of the language we use sounds outdated in regards to what we were tying this into.   Quite possibly the most tenuous connection I've ever done in terms of trying to tie an episode into a new release with but we're looking at some really successful low-budget horror films to tie into the release of the new Backrooms film with some films that are in a similar vein.

  14. 234

Episode 228: Star Wars: Part 2

Concluding the two-parter with a look at how Disney has done with Star Wars and how it compares to George Lucas' Star Wars.

  16. 232

    Episode 226: Mortal Kombat

Delving back into the world of video games this time with the far more mature and violet realm of Mortal Kombat.

  17. 231

Episode 225: The Devil Wears Prada

As a prefacer there were some technical difficulties so apologies for those. We're looking at the beloved 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada to tie into the upcoming sequel as well as discussing fashion and legacy sequels.

  18. 230

    Episode 224: The Mummy

No, there isn't a new Brendan Fraser film out but instead a new Mummy film from Blumhouse which we are tying this week's episode into. We do talk about the Fraser Mummy films along with the original 19322 version and the 2017 Tom Cruise vehicle.

  19. 229

Episode 223: Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie

A bit more of an out there episode this week as we look at Nirvanna the Band (not the Kurt Cobain one) with a look from their start with the 2007 web series to the 2017 show on Vice culminating with our main discussion being on the recently released film.

  20. 228

  25. 223

    Episode 217: Scream

Another big franchise retrospective this week for the show as we look back through the history of the Scream franchise with talks on the slasher genre, the mess that appears to be the upcoming Scream 7 and Matthew Lillard (obviously).

  26. 222

    Episode 216: Valentine's Special (10 Things I Hate About You/The Big Sick)

The show is here with a new Valentine's special with myself and my guest choosing two films to cover for this week's episode to celebrate Valentine's.

  29. 219

    Episode 213: Good Will Hunting

Instead of tying into a new release, we're just talking about a film because we can. It's also a long time coming as we're finally properly talking about a Matt Damon film with Good Will Hunting as well as talking about Boston accents and love (aw).

It's time for our 3rd annual Christmas special on the podcast with a look at the beloved Christmas classic in Die Hard.

  33. 215

    Episode 209: James Cameron

We're here with the final director filmography retrospective for the year with a look back at James Cameron's career in anticipation of the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

  34. 214

Episode 205: Now You See Me

Time for something completely different as we look at the somehow long-running Now You See Me franchise while also talking about Harry Potter (because Daniel Radcliffe is in one of them), magic (duh) and Dan Harmon (what?)

  38. 210

    Episode 204: The Running Man

What's that? Two episodes in one week?! Indeed, you lucky ducks, as we're looking at The Running Man this week as well discussing the work of Stephen King, Arnold Schwarzenegger and 80s action movie cheese. Here is the link to the short film my guest mentioned: https://vimeo.com/1131913288

  39. 209

    Episode 203: Predator

Another longer gap between episodes but we're back with the Predator franchise which we couldn't really pass up on after doing the Alien franchise last year.

  40. 208

    Episode 202: Frankenstein

After a delay, we're back with a look at the history of Frankenstein and the career of Guillermo del Toro because there's a new Frankenstein out directed by Guillermo del Toro which is the only reason we cover certain films now.

  41. 207

    Episode 201: Tron

  43. 205

    Episode 199: Pain & Gain

A very out of nowhere choice (especially before episode 200) but we decided to cover a film that is really archetypical of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson before The Smashing Machine comes out and he shows his chops as a dramatic actor with Pain & Gain.

After taking a break from episodes, we're back again with an action film looking at the Bob Odenkirk lead Nobody and discussing the man's career and the current state of action films being made.   Apologies for the audio issues on my end, I will work on getting them fixed for next week's episode.
