    audiotheque.056 - EEVY

Eevy from Lausanne is a wide grooves enthusiast. He started to build his musical path at an early age with Jazz, playing Saxophone in different Bands. But it was through his different travels and long stays in Berlin, Vancouver and New York City that he got the vast musical interest and knowledge he's known for today: from jazzy, psychedelic and funky beats to disco edits, cosmic downtempos and other heavy House & Afro tracks. With Traffic – a collective he co-founded back in 2012 – Eevy invited guests such as Jus-Ed, Greg Beato, Patrice Scott, Kim Ann Foxman or DJ Fett Burger to play at their parties and had the chance to perform his own sets at the Montreux Jazz, Electrosanne, Polaris or in Clubs like Hinterhof and at their residence at La Ruche of course.

After graduating with a Music Composition degree, Hakim started to produce music and founded MachiningDreams and Synapsis Records in 2008 - later one with Avondale Music Society. audiotheque.052 - ROUND TABLE KNIGHTS

DJs, producers, selectors & club owners — all those terms pertain to Round Table Knights, the eclectic and highly skilled duo of Biru Bee and Hove. Debuting in 2002, they spent the next few years building their name with a series of prodigious DJ-Sets. It was in the second half of the decade tho, that a couple of esteemed releases — especially the monumental track Calypso — and the highly appreciated full-length album ‘Say What?!’ took the pair to another level. Over the past six years, the duo has been continuously touring across Europe, Asia, Australia, the US and Brazil to some respected venues and festivals such as Panorama Bar, Sónar, Igloofest or Creamfields, charming sweet dancefloors with ease. In their hometown Bern, the two can still be found frequently behind the decks of Club Bonsoir. A Venue, which the duo decided to open along the way and where they invite regularly some of the DJ circuit’s brightest up-and-comers. Despite all the years in the business and all those projects, the unresting duo doesn’t lose any of it’s creativity, dedication and will, to bring out great music. Hove’s young yet cherished Label ‘Lights of other Days’ and Birus more recent project Monumental Men alongside Mel Mercury are the latest two examples therefor. For this Episode of the Series, the duo delivers an hour of thoughtfully selected tracks, beautifully mixed together for your enjoyment.

For the series the two longtime friends deliver a neat selection of classics, contemporary favorites and some of their own productions, finding the right balance between head-nodding and hip-shaking grooves.

All the residents of the label, namely Boris WHY, Huazee, Robel and Rodri, live this cosmopolitan way to play music in their respective Sets. So does the collectively B2B set, which became acclaimed all over the city. Afterwards, he lead a Jazz Club for over 15 years, which gave him the opportunity to work together with some of the best Italian Jazz musicians and to compose 'Bee's Dance' Opera, as part of the Biennal Art Venice 2009. In 2008, Princess P aka Muriel de Bros graduated at the RBMA and gained with her skills, records and symphathy no less than David Moufang alias Move D as her admirer. 'Elegant, incredibly tasty and full of warm italo and balearic influenced grooves.' That's how we described Slow Hands's music on a short press text for the audiotheque.clubnight of last June. For this third establishment of the 'Winter-Edition'-series though, the man from Brooklyn NY put togheter some tunes, which fit well for those cold and cozy winter days. Expect tracks by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Jane Birkin et Serge Gainsbourg or Bobby McFerrin, mixed together, as we only could expect from a crew member around the pop-afine house labels Wolf+Lamb and Soul Clap Records.

A musical background witch notably influences his way to mix House and Techno music today. Phrex was inspired by the 'Separée' - Cabaret Club's intime and beloved smokers lounge - recording this mix. audiotheque.034 - LE LOUP

Only a few artists manage to release their first EP at the age of 21 on a Label such as Wolf+Lamb. The young Leonard Perret aka Le Loup didn’t become overbearing because of that first success and kept following his passion with great commitment. Today, four years later, Leonard is a big figure of the French scene. Together with his partner in crime Seuil, he created ‘Hold Youth’ which is the DJ-Combo of those both artists playing together as well as a fantastic Vinyl-Only Label and an event series residing at Paris’s legendary Rex club. Le Loup recorded this subtile mix a cuple of weeks ago for his paris friends of Æternum Music. He then decided to share it with us and you as well.

  24. 34

    audiotheque.033 - HUAZEE's Hip Hop Selection

So here we are with his fourth mix for our series - Huazee's Hip Hop Selection.

He also released his first EP on the Zurich based ‘Esance Records’ and produced a Track for Sirions – Bern Complilation together with his studio buddy Felipe Puertes. Robel is the soul brother par excellence which you'll recognize in this smoothy house mix. We love it – and hope you do as well.

  27. 31

Eddward Currelly took it gently with his career. He spent over 20 years behind the decks playing for any sort of events - from birthday party to weddings. During 10 years he dedicated himself also to his other great passion, skiing, which led him to move from southern Ontario to the Canadian Rockie mountains. Then the year 2009 came and C's first EP was released. Since then, time flew by quick for Eddie. He followed his canadian friends and moved to Berlin, released his debut album 'Parts Unknown' on Endless Flight and graced a lot of other quality labels with his beautiful, deep Slo Mo grooves. Today we're waiting excited for Eddies second album 'City Country City' which is going to be released in two weeks on Endless Flight again.

  28. 30

    audiotheque.029 - SERANTHONY

Sergio Similis aka Seranthonys career as a DJ began in the early 90s in the small town Solothurn. While many DJs started their career in Solothurn and then moved to the bigger cities like Zurich or Berne, Sergio remained faithful to the arguably most beautiful baroque city of Switzerland and dedicated himself to the developing of the club culture in this city. With his club “the hidden” which he opened over 10 years ago together with his buddy Bidu, he not only created a cultural space in his city, but he created a flagship for the whole country. This tiny, underground venue opens twice a month and invites guests like Chez Damier, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Gerd Janson, Thomas Melchior, but also works a lot with national and regional DJs. Sergio himself doesn’t like to be in the spotlight but when he stands behind the decks, be it at the hidden, at the Cabaret in Zurich or anywhere else, there’s always a sort of magic in the air. He always spinns the right record at the right time.

  29. 29

Both of his albums - '2006' put out together with St. Plomb on Mental Groove and the self-titled 'Crowdpleaser' which came out on Tiga's Turbo Records - are gemstones of the Swiss underground scene and built up Crowdpleaser's reputation also far beyond the national boundaries. Gregor recorded this set back in July while playing at the closing of his own runned club ' The Shark'. A tiny basement of an abandoned building in the heart of Geneva. Despite the very restricted capacity and the almost none existing resources, the club got a remarkable reputation and people from all over the country went there to dance twice a month in an intimate atmosphere. We try to get you some impressions of that atmosphere with the second live recorded mix from our series. Enjoy!

  32. 26

    audiotheque.025 - MEMORYMAN

Since more than 20 years now, Cristiano Rinaldi aka Memoryman is actin in the Italian club scene. Since the mid-90s he’s part of the Pastaboys-Trio alongside Dino Angioletti and Rame. Together these guys recorded some well-known clubtunes like 'eightyone' or 'Tribute' and run a weekly night called 'Black Box', one amongst the coolest nights of Italy. With his new moniker, Cristiano did a recommencement. He releases tracks and edits on labels such as 're-vox' or his own new label 'oh...cristo!' benefiting from his longstanding club experiences. He truly fulfills the name 'Memoryman'. Cristiano rends his contribution to our podcast series mixing the stunning #025. 34. 24

    audiotheque.023 - PAT MUVEMBE

Pat Muvembe aka Bird is a sort of an institution when it comes to electronic music in Switzerland’s capital city. DJing since the early 90ies with gigs in some historical Swiss venues as the Alte Markthalle in Bern or Love Zoo in Neuchatel, he was also vinyl dealer and owner of the "Schwarz Markt" record store - one of the very few we ever had in our city. Today he's moderator of the Galaxy Space Night on the local radio station RaBe and member of the record label “Sirion”. Through all those experiences and years of dedication, Padi achieved an overwhelming musical knowledge. As Bird, Patrick Stucki plays club oriented DJ-Sets, making move booties everywhere he spins his Vinyl. As Pat Muvembe, he dedicate himself to different music directions knowing no boundaries and just following the heart. Just relax and enjoy music for your mind, body and soul.

  35. 23

    audiotheque.022 - FEDERICO MOLINARI

Let’s go back to 2001 this month, where Apple announces iTunes, where Wikipedia - the free encyclopedia - goes online and where this mix was recorded… With his breaking-through Recordlabel “Oslo” and his great DJ-Skills, Federico Molinari got all our attention since we’ve started to do our events. His keen sense of good music is shown in his acclaimed DJ-Sets and in his appreciated releases for labels like Tsuba or his own Oslo and Love Letters from Oslo. As A&R he was co-responsible for the new Frankfurt/Mannheim wave. With his label he was supporting artists like Christian Burkhardt, Johnny D, Markus Fix, Reboot or Sasha Dive. Federico gave us a very special and unique present, offering us his very first DJ-Set he recorded on CD back in 2001… Obviously with vinyl only. Here we go that month, shifted back for over 10 years.

  36. 22

    audiotheque.020 - DEMETRIO GIANNICE

This month, our Podcast reaches its 20th episode. A good opportunity to release this wonderful 2 hour-mix by one of Switzerland's most devoted Deep House artists: Demetrio Giannice. Demetrio grew up listening to the music of a true vinyl lover - his dad. In the early 90s, he experienced Zurich's night life for the first time. This impressive experience led him to leave his band and his guitar to fully dedicate himself from that moment on to the Chicago and NYC Disco legacy. Today, about 20 years later, Demetrio runs his own vinyl-only imprint Enterbt Rec., releases on Third Ear and Drumpoet and collaborates with Deep House heavyweight Chez Damier and his label Balance Alliance. We saw both of them sharing the Decks at one of our events last October and we can guarantee, this works like a charm. This new Mix takes off exactly where that memorable night ended: Vocals of the yelling and shouting crowd right after Demetrio played the last track. Listen, feel, love.
