Episode 3 of ‘Back to Life: Co. Wexford Stories of Derelict Homes’ follows Anne Smyth in Gorey as she takes on the challenge of rebuilding a property from scratch. After purchasing a property from the Derelict Buildings Register, this episode focuses on the planning journey behind the project - from applying for planning permission, understanding the process, and navigating the steps involved before work can begin. Alongside Anne’s story, we hear from Wexford County Council Senior Executive Planner Aisling Kelly as well as Michael Sweeney and Tom Banville about the planning process, the Derelict Buildings Register, and the important role planning plays in bringing properties back into use.
