Justin is joined by Milwaukee Head Coach, Shaun Wegner! Shaun Wegner was promoted to the role of Milwaukee baseball coach in the summer of 2023 after joining the staff in August of 2017 as an assistant and serving as associate head coach for four seasons. He enters his fourth season as head coach in 2027. In his time as head coach, Wegner has led the Panthers to 70 victories, with 43 of those coming in Horizon League play. He has overseen 14 student-athletes earn All-League honors, including 11 First Team selections, while the team also boasted the league's top pitcher in Gavin Theis and top reliever in Logan Snow following the 2025 season, while Camden Kuhnke was the top reliever in 2026. Woodard led the 49ers to 36 wins in 2025, tying for the eighth-most wins in a single season in program history and just the 10th time reaching that mark, with four of those seasons coming in Woodard's first six campaigns leading the team. Also serving as the team's pitching coach, Woodard helped the Niners post their fifth consecutive season crossing the 500 strikeout mark on the mound with 576 punchouts in 2025, finishing second in team history behind the record of 619 in 2023. He has coached 19 players who have gone on to play in the Major Leagues including All Star and World Series Champion Chris Taylor as well as rising phenom Dylan Crews. Nearly every position player on LSU's 2023 and 2025 National Championship teams was recruited and/or coached by Smith during his time as the hitting coach at LSU. In total, Smith has been to eight NCAA Tournaments and four Super Regionals. He reached the College World Series in Omaha while coaching at Virginia in 2009 and 2011.
