Being Human in the Age of AI --The Coaching Lens — With Carrie Hollack of Chollack Consulting, Guest Episode 4.
In the 4th episode of Being Human in the Age of AI -- The Coaching Lens, I sit down with Carrie Hollack, founder of CHollack Consulting and a board member of OHUG (the Oracle HCM Users Group), for a wide-ranging conversation that spans career, technology, and coaching. Carrie shares how she broke into tech right before Y2K with no programming background, found her passion for high-volume retail after cutting her teeth on a failing weekly payroll system, and picked up a "servant leadership" mindset while working at Nordstrom. From there, we dig into what she's working on today — balancing new functionality against decades-old legacy systems that still run mission-critical processes. We also get into AI and how adoption has exploded in just one year, why built-in AI features from vendors like Oracle are seeing faster adoption than standalone agents, how AI is reshaping (not just eliminating) roles, and the real risks of data being pieced together about all of us — from an old Target pregnancy-prediction story to Amazon's data-driven convenience. We close out talking about coaching itself: how it opens space for people to think differently during big organizational transformations, why it's not therapy or training, and how a good coach helps people move from fear to possibility. Connect with Carrie Hollack at chollack dot com. CHollack Consulting | OHUG (Oracle HCM Users Group) board member

AI Layoffs, Leadership, and the Human Cost of Change - Episode 2 of Being Human in the Age of AI - Stuart Ashman, Guest
"AI Layoffs, Leadership, and the Human Cost of Change" is the title of the second podcast in the new series, "Being Human in the Age of AI - The Coaching Lens," with guest Stuart Ashman. AI is transforming the workplace—but who gets to decide how that transformation unfolds? In this episode of "Being Human in the Age of AI: The Coaching Lens," Executive Producer and Host Deborah Grant continues her conversation with Stuart Ashman, an engineer, technology leader, trainer, mentor, and coach based in Vancouver, Canada. As organizations race to adopt AI, important questions emerge: • What happens when experience, institutional knowledge, and relationships are treated as expendable? • Are companies developing people for new opportunities—or simply reducing headcount? • How can leaders balance efficiency with responsibility? • What role do coaching, mentoring, and continuous learning play in helping people navigate uncertainty and change? • How do we ensure that technological progress remains aligned with human values?
