NBA Trade Madness, World Cup knockout stages begin, and the films of '86
Andrew and Lanny go over a couple of the head-scratching trades in the #NBA this week, and what they do to the team betting odds for 2027. The #worldcup is appointment TV at this point. Why? Because it's being held in America, and it's one of those events that will be remembered for decades to come. And it's the best futbol or football or soccer on the planet right now. You know what year put out banger film after banger film after banger film? 1986! Forty years ago this summer, Top Gun and so many other greats came to a theatre near you. We talk about how many A-list stars put out films that year, which ones we liked most and why we can't make Ferris Bueller's Day off anymore. All that and more on this week's #podcast. #film #soccer

The Spurs implode or the Knicks come back, you decide, World Cup, 1994 and The Odyssey
The boys are back with the 37th edition of @BetSmallLoseSmall . This week's debate: did the Knicks make the greatest comeback in Sports finals history, or did the Spurs have the biggest choke in NBA Finals history? We debate. Are we going to see the Odyssey? Yeah, we are. Christopher Nolin and a whole host of big stars bring Homer's epic back to the big screen, and we're going (again). And the World Cup is back in the United States for the first time since 1994. What were we doing in 1994? Having the times of our lives. We discuss a great Gen X year. All that and more on Bet Small, Lose Small.

We talk about what went wrong for the Thunder, what went right for the Spurs and how we're betting on the NBA Finals. And finally, a couple of big NFL trades went down this week, we'll give our takes.

Were the Blockbuster Video times the best of times? Vrabel, boycotts and more!
The boys took a few weeks off to work on projects, take care of real-life issues and recharge after that devastating bet against Rory McIlroy in the Master's, but they're back for more cash this week. They'll talk about the Mike Vrabel situation and why the NFL doesn't seem to care that much, the Browns QB room (not a good room at all), the Gina Carano-Ronda Rousey "fight," and why Netflix eventually killed Blockbuster. Oh, Blockbuster, what a time we all had. These Gen Xers take a wild walk down memory lane talking about the video rental days.

Masters weekend, was the NCAA title game great or bad, Gen X scheduling issues
Lanny is on the verge of having to stroll with his oldest dog across the rainbow bridge, and that leads to adult scheduling issues. Are all Gen Xers working on a calendar or what? @lbrannock says the #ncaabasketball championship was a dud, Andrew says it was great. What do you say? Finding value when you wager on the #Masters. Can you do it when the defending champion has the largest 36 hole lead in tournament history? The easy answer is yes, yes you can. All that and more on this edition of Best Small, Lose Small.

The Sweet 16, Florida busts all the brackets, some new picks, and is One Battle just T2 repackaged
The second weekend of the NCAA Tournament is upon us, and it's harder than ever to pick a winner this year. Arizona, Michigan and Duke seem to have the best shot at the Final Four, but can St. Johns or Michigan State make a run? We discuss. A fascinating internet theory that Paul Thomas Anderson paid a lot of hommage to Terminator 2 in his Oscar-winning film One Battle After Another and we discuss that. Lanny didn't fill out a bracket and that's weird, but he has reasons. That and more on this week's Bet Small, Lose Small.

The NCAA Tourney start is the best week in sports (a hill we will die on) and a little Oscar talk
The best, and maybe the greatest, ever, time of the year is here. Spring is gaining momentum, baby animals are being born, allergy season is running amok, grass starts growing again, and the #ncaa #tournament bracket has been released. The 64... 68... whatever... team field is set, a couple of first four contests have unfolded and brackets are about to get busted over and over again. If you're a sports fan, if you're even a casual basketball fan, this week offers the best in sports gambling of all kinds. There are David and Goliath matchups, buzzer beaters, upsets, heartbreaks, and every conceivable parlay possible. We'll get into betting the tournament in a safe way and a somewhat reckless way, all with small wagers, of course. We're going to have a little Oscar talk, too. All that and more on this week's @BetSmallLoseSmall

We read our comments, the BAFTAS and THE slur, our kids are spoiled and Lanny is making a film
Is all customer service crap? Lanny and Andrew discuss. Lanny has a film coming out later this summer, Andrew goes over a free agency trade gone wrong, our kids are spoiled, but not in the way you think, we read some of the comments we get off social media and the BAFTA awards have a real problem when a man with Tourette's sees two of the best Black actors walk on stage. It's as bad as it sounds. All that and more on the 30th episode of @BetSmallLoseSmall

Is pop culture getting worse? The NFL "Monsters, Inc." broadcast. Our picks and a contest update.
Andrew's @buffalobills beat Lanny’s @Bengals last week, and if that wasn't bad enough, most of our bets tanked, too. Welcome to wagering on the #nfl in 2025, where no game is a sure thing. Did you watch the "Monsters, Inc." NFL broadcast on Monday Night Football? We did, but not because it was compelling or good, but because we couldn't ever make sense of what we were seeing, or why it existed. We discuss that, and on a broader topic, is pop culture getting worse, or are we just over it? All that and more on this week's episode of @BetSmallLoseSmall hosted by Andrew Hill and @lbrannock . #NFL #popculture #sportsbetting #fyp
