Beyoncé's is Trying to Tell Us Something

Beyoncé is quite literally the queen of the universe. Like-name someone more influential her… I’ll wait. This Black History Month she revealed that she was releasing Renaissance Part Two a country album, which follows the manifestation of the Renaissance albums, reclaiming Black music, genres of dance, country, rock (and gospel one day in a different era). As a Virgo myself, I know Beyoncé is trying to tell us something in her music and in her artistry. Black people are more empowered than ever, and it’s time to recognize our gifts.

    Amazon is Destroying Democracy 🤖🚧

Amazon and big corporations are bringing in millions of dollars a day, while the middle and working class are suffering. Join Black Girl in Dior's season 5 finale as we discuss how our country is evolving into a fascist oligarchy right under our noses, with corporations (mostly amazon) slowly taking over industries around the country. The sad part is, that we the consumers are allowing this to happen by continuing to support convenient corporations instead of local and growing businesses. An Amazon store will be replacing the Toys R Us I went to as a kid. Amazon bought out Whole Foods, they have a streaming service, newspapers, and stores. You name it, they have it. Convenience and over-consumption at its finest. If Amazon continues on this trajectory, they will own everything. Them and or Disney LOL.

Hollywood Only Casts Black & Brown People Who are White Passing 🙅🏿‍♀️🎬

How often do you see a Black woman, a Darkskinned Black or Brown woman, or an Asian man portrayed as a love interest or as desirable in a film? Simu Liu, a Chinese actor, was denied the lead role in the film "Crazy Rich Asians", because he was told that he didn't have the "It" factor, despite his strong discography. The role instead went to the biracial actor Henry Golding. This is a pattern in Hollywood. Casting biracial or white-passing Black and Brown actors in mono-racial roles. This denies representation to others. Let's unpack.
