The Sabres pulled off a massive trade Tuesday night with the Chicago Blackhawks sending defenseman Bo Byram and forward Jordan Greenway to Chicago in exchange for the fourth overall pick in the draft that starts Friday night, the 45th pick, and 6-8 defenseman Louis Crevier. The grades on the 2026 Bills draft range from a straight A to barely passing. Thursday night was about what Bills GM/President of Football Operations Brandon Beane didn't do - that was make a first round pick. Instead, as we expected, he trade down three times and out of the first round, adding picks and no doubt aligning those picks to what the Bills have evaluated with players that match value. The complexion of the opening round series between the Bruins and Sabres has changed after Boston's strong response with a 4-2 win in game two. Bills GM/President of Football Operations Brandon Beane made a point on Monday that so many of us have concluded about this year's draft. Without giving the actual number, he said that they are on the "low end" of where they typically are in terms of first round grades. That further supports the argument to try and trade down from the 26th pick. We think Beane will certainly try to do that if he can find a partner.
