You are programmed. You are definitely programmed to play it safe. You are. Most people my age, they're programmed to take it easy. Just take it easy. You've worked hard. You deserve to just take it easy. That's a bunch of nonsense. What would you want to take an easy for? It's nowhere near as much fun as creating. I've often thought when I'm in Amsterdam I like to go to the museum and see Rembrandt's work "The Nightwatch." It's one of the most magnificent pieces of art that you'll ever see. I was listening one time to an art critic. He was being interviewed and they said, "Well, how do you determine a masterpiece of art?" He said, "Every part of it's perfect." This stuck in my mind. Every part of it. The dog's eyes, there's a little black and white dog, it's eyes are perfect. The fingernails are perfect, every part of it. Yet you sit and it's so incredible. It has a hypnotic effect on you, can't take your eyes off it. I thought, "I wonder how he must've felt when he felt it was finished? I wonder if he ever felt it was finished?" I've often thought artists must think they're never finished. Little shadow here, a little shadow there. It's those kind of things that we want to attempt to keep in our mind, whenever we're doing what we're doing. Every little part of it is very important, whether it's the knuckle or the nostril. It's very important. Yet, you've got to be gutsy. Your age, your gender's got nothing to do with it. Do you see, we're programmed to earn and put away enough that when we get to a certain age, nobody's ever figured out what the certain age was, and then you can take it easy. You don't have to work anymore. See, it's obvious that we're programmed to think that we're made for working. We're not made for working, we're made for creating. We're creative, we're made different than any other form of life. We've been endowed with faculties that blow your mind when you think you and it's within us. We've got it. Yet just do ordinary, what everybody out there's doing. The doorman or the salad chef or something. We're never going to live up to our potential. Let's learn to give a little more. Let's learn to read a little more. Let's learn to think a little more. This is how you attract the person you want into your life. Now, you take a sheet of paper or card and you put a circle on it. And in that circle you write, my man or my woman, whichever it is you want to attract. And then you take and you put sort of a starburst on it with a bunch of lines coming out. And then you start to fill in. And here you want the kind of person you want, the qualities that you want to have. And the first thing you want, you want that person to be free because if they're not, you're not going to be. And as well as that, you also want the person to be happy. Who wants to be with a sad face all the time? You want to attract a kind person. You want somebody that's kind, you want somebody that's caring. Now you think of all these things you think of, what do I want the person to be like? Well, you want them to have these qualities and understand this, you do not put a face on the person. Oh, I know, you've got eye on somebody. You have no right to mess with their mind and that's what you would be doing. You'd be transmitting images to them. Now, you just send this to the universe. Now, I'm going to tell you what it'll happen before we're finished here. You got to go back and you keep thinking of the qualities. You want them to be in good health. You want somebody who's financially independent and there's no hangups about money. You want somebody that's into personal growth. If you're into personal growth, you certainly want them to be. Now, this seems preposterous to some people, but if you understand the law, understand that we're all an expression of exactly the same power and this power operates by law, vibration is one of the laws. Now, vibration is the primary law, attraction's the secondary. You can only attract to you what you're in harmonious vibration with. Just keep adding the qualities, everything you want this person to have. And then mentally you start to live with this person. Don't tell anybody you're doing it. You go for a walk with them, you talk to them, you have dinner with them and you mentally carry on a conversation with this imaginary person. Now, what are you doing? When you're thinking of a person with all these qualities and you see that in your mind, you're putting yourself in that vibration and you keep doing this and you do it on a regular basis and understand the universe is going to send you exactly what you're in harmony with. If you're attracting what you don't want, you better take a look at you because you're the only person who can change, you can never change another person. Now, you do this, you make love to this person, you go for a walk, you have dinner with them, everything that you would be doing, you do with this individual and you're going to find that that person, boom, walk right into your life. Try it. When do you think you really landed on your purpose? She says, "I love the story. That one that you tell, mention often about making the cassette tape." And I started to read that. And I started to laugh because I remembered it very clearly. There'd been a guy that was working for me in the cleaning business. And when I quit and went to Chicago, he had been studying the same material I was studying, because we were all studying Earl's material. And he wondered if I could get him a job there. And I said, "Sure." So I talked to the company. And he got a job. He and I were friends. I was there a number of years, and I decided I wanted to do what Earl was doing. I wanted to start teaching this. I didn't just want to work there. I was in love with the material. And you see, this had been percolating in me for a long time. And I made a cassette and I took it and I went up to his house, and I was really excited. I was going to do this. I remember he was home. So I go up, and I told him I wanted to talk to him. He was my friend. And it was an old Iowa tape recorder where you push the thing in and make a hell of a noise when you pushed it, a big click, and that would start recording. And then if you wanted to stop, you had to pull it back. I made a click and I mean, there was no editing. It was just ram ram. It was probably the worst production of anything you could ever make. I mean, it was just absolutely awful. And I mean, the sound, it was just bad. And so anyway, I made this recording, and I was excited because what it was doing, it was really explaining what I wanted to do. And I had this image in my mind, you see. Well, I started to play it. Joel Goldsmith wrote a book one time called, The Thunder of Silence. The title of that book came to my mind in the house that night, The Thunder of Silence. I mean, it was silent. I started to feel so uncomfortable. I could feel what he was thinking. He was embarrassed for me. He's thinking, who do you think you are? Think you're like that? You're kidding yourself. Proctor, come on. Couldn't do that. You're not like him. He's a talented guy. I could feel this all. It was probably one of the worst moments of my life where no one ever said anything. Finally, after I don't know, maybe 20 minutes, which seemed like a year, I shut it off. And I said, "Well, it was, yeah. It was an idea." And I worked my way out of the house. He never said nothing, he didn't know what to say. He was so embarrassed for me. And I'm driving home and all of a sudden, it dawned on me. I'm letting him steal my dream. I made a decision driving home that night, that I would never let anybody do that again. See, he couldn't do that. I let him do that. When you set a big goal, big is a relative term, too, some people are going to look at you, and they're going to laugh. They're going to say, "Who the hell do you think you are?" Yeah, it takes guts to win. That's not a normal thing. I hardly ever see that man. I haven't seen him for years. Never talk to him. It was like we were on the same frequency and all of a sudden, we were on different frequencies. The Oscar that Phil was kind enough to bring here and let us look at, was on a certain frequency. When Phil got on that frequency and stayed on that frequency, that's when the Oscar manifested and was his. Is he all that much smarter than all the other producers? No. He'll tell you he's not that smart at all. Was Phil lucky? No. What did we say Voltaire called luck? He said it is a word we invented to express the known effects of unknown causes. There is no such thing as luck. Vibration is a law. Do you like that idea? I love it. Now let's think. What'd he say, the intuitive mind is a sacred gift? The rational mind is an obedient or faithful servant. We've created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. Man, that is so true. We honor the servant. Will you listen to what I'm telling you, man? Will you listen to me? Will you look at this? How often do you hear that when you're a kid? "Will you listen to what I'm saying? Will you look at this?" Sensory factors, they're everything. You're not listening, looking, and listening and looking and listening, you are not going to get it. Well, of course, that's not true at all. William James from Harvard way back in 1900, he said, "Act like the person you want to become," the actor's technique. He also said something else. He said, "Believe, and your belief will create the fact." If you understand the laws, it's not difficult to believe. It's only difficult to believe when you don't understand the laws. It's difficult to believe when you don't understand how everything is created, where it comes from. Understand there are laws of creation. You see, our problem is we do understand that, and we can sort of grasp that and we can accept that. Our real problem is this: we don't think we can. She can, he can, but not me. We're really extras in our own movie. We see the star, but we're not the star. You're the star of your movie. You are the Academy Award-winning star of your movie. What did Shakespeare say? "All of life's a stage." It really is. Now, some people are acting like the play's over and they're just going to sit there until the lights go right out. Listen, if you start to play with this the proper way, you're going to realize age has got nothing to do with it, gender has nothing to do with it. It's our own thoughts. When we grasp the idea that nothing's created or destroyed, take practicality out of it, get logic out of it. Go there. Build any picture you want. I think it's written, "In my father's house, there are many mansions." You're dealing with infinite, no beginning, no end. Get it in your head. Why are so many people stuck? All you have to know is where you are and where you're going. Well, the obvious answer would be these people don't have any target. They're not shooting at anything. They don't have a goal. That would be the obvious answer, but I don't necessarily think that's the right one. See, I think everybody has a goal of sort. Most people don't know where they are. They really don't know where they are. You will find people that have obvious talent. They've got phenomenal, formal educations, and they're miserable. They're very unhappy. Nothing seems to work for them. You see, people are being controlled by paradigms, and they don't even know it. Now, not just one or two, a very high percentage of the population are being controlled by paradigms. That's an idea that's fixed in our subconscious mind that literally controls our behavior. You were programmed from the moment of conception. When you're born, you come in with your mind wide open. Your subconscious mind is like a cup. Whatever's going on in your environment goes right into that cup, and that's what's controlling every move you make. Now, can we override it? Yes, we can. Your age has nothing to do with this in so far as change is concerned. If you don't like the way you're living, any aspect of how you're living, you have the godlike ability to change it. Did you know we're the only creature on the planet that's totally disoriented in our environment? All the rest of the little creatures are completely at home in their environment. We're totally disoriented in ours. You see, they're at home because they blend in. We don't. We have been given the ability to create our own environment. Now think of that. We have the mental faculties that go way beyond all the other form of animal life, yet we can literally build our own environment. We can sit, and we say, "This is how I want to live." To be able to shape your future, you have to be willing and able to change your paradigm. Everything you need to get, it is already here. Nothing is created or destroyed. All you have to do is make a decision. Over the past 50 years, I've had some absolutely phenomenal things happen and they keep getting better. I think better is a nice word. It doesn't matter how good it is. It can get better. Now unfortunately, there's some people, they think it keeps getting worse. And I know what they're like because I lived there for quite a long time and it's not a fun way to live. It's not necessary, but the people that are there don't know that. They really don't know. And I believe it's our obligation to help them understand that. Do you know? Just as I said that, I thought it was something that I haven't really talked about for actually a few years. Some of you are familiar with it. It's Plato's analogy of prisoners in an underground cave. And it's such a beautiful way of explaining why people don't get this. Build a picture with me. I want you to imagine prisoners in an underground cave. Get the picture in your mind. These prisoners are chained in this cave against a wall. They can't move. They're not even able to turn their head sideways. They're locked in the cave and they're forced to stare at the wall that's in front of them. Now there's a mouth to the cave, so light shines in from the outside. Above and behind the prisoner is a screen like what you would use to show puppets. And beyond the screen, there's a fire burning. And then beyond the fire, there's people walking and they're carrying vessels and statues and objects. The shadows of these prisoners and the vessels and the statues and the objects, the shadows of the flames and the shadows of the prisoner themself is being cast upon the wall of the cave that the prisoner has been forced to stare at since birth. This is all they know. Now, the sound of the people talking appear to be coming from the wall of the cave. So the truth then to the prisoner would be nothing but shadows on the wall of the cave that are talking. Now, if they were loosened and able to turn, wouldn't the light hurt their eyes? Wouldn't they prefer to look away at the dark? They were told, "Listen, this is real. That's false." They'd say, "No way. That's real. That's false." If the prisoner were freed, then forced to climb a steep and rugged ascent up out of the cave, wouldn't they first be blinded by the daylight? And when they could see what would they see? Well, they would probably see the shadows of things or the reflection of things in the water. And then standing in the sunlight, beholding the sun, don't you think they'd give anything to keep from returning to their fellow prisoners back in the cave? Now, if they were told there's a contest going on in the cave and the prisoner that can most accurately identify the moving objects on the wall would win, do you think the freed prisoner would care for such honors any longer? This is why people reject the truth. That was Plato's way of explaining why they can't accept what we're talking about. That's real. This is false. See, when you go out and you tell people, if they can see it in their mind, they can hold it in their hand. They'll say, "You shouldn't go to those places. Did you pay to go there?" I mean, you're going to get really screwed up if you keep going there. And then Harry, come here. Tell them what you just told me. And Harry laughed. We have to understand why they're laughing. They really think this is nonsense. I'll tell you what I've learned. If you write a lie on a card and you read it often enough, you're going to start to believe it. Whatever you write, if you write it over and over and over it, write it over and over and over. See, writing causes thinking. Thinking creates an image. As you get emotionally involved in the image you're planning it in universal intelligence. Universal intelligence is amoral. It doesn't care what you plant, but it will return what you plant. I think I quoted Earl where he said, "You can plant nightshade, a deadly poison. A 16th of an inch away you can plant corn, a sweet food. One will grow with just as great an abundance as the other." That's the truth. They've proved that. Told the people a lie. But in his charismatic way of putting it across, and he kept doing it over and over, people started to believe it. First he had them burning the books. Then he had them burning the people. You know there's people alive today still believe he was right. He's evil and he's wrong. Yet you build an image and you internalize it, you're planting it in universal intelligence. Universal intelligence operates by law. The first law is the perpetual transmutation of energy. It's got to move into form. Quit trying to figure out how it's going to happen. You don't know enough. Just know it's going to happen. You see, the key there is are you ready? If you don't believe, you're not ready. You can believe they can do it and not have the foggiest idea of how it's going to happen. The moment your belief matches with any state, you fuse with it. What do we mean? You become one with it. You become one with that state. This union results in the activation, projection of the plots and plans and conditions and circumstance. Doesn't matter how it's going to happen. That's the interesting part of the trip, discovering how it's going to happen. I met her, I met him, and then I met them, and they come and said this. Then I stumbled on this book. This new state of conscious awareness becomes your home. You live there. You may be the only one living there. And that's where you view the world from there. It's your workshop, and if you're observant you'll see outer reality shaping itself upon the model of your imagination. What wonderful information. Now think. I want you to totally relax and think. We want to realize that if we can go there, there is a place. Don't let that fade. Now, what is this? This is those crazy dreams. Think of this, I live like I expect a miracle. I just know something's going to happen that's so phenomenal it's going to blow me away. I'm going to sit and say, "Wow, holy crow, wow." I learned if I can see it in my head, I can just go and do it. How am I going to do it? I don't know. That's the fun part of it. You find out how you're going to do it. And afterwards you can look back and say, "Damn, that was really good." Then you get another idea and you go and do it again. If you can see it, you can do it. You and I have the unique ability to literally create stuff, things, ideas, but you got to understand what we're doing. Otherwise, it's just a dumb daydream. "That'd be nice, that'd be really cool." If you can see it, you can do it. When you go there what you've got to understand is there is a place. If you took your mind there, it was your mind. You went somewhere. This is not nowhere, this is somewhere. There's always been a very small select group of people that understood if they could see it, they can do it. I live like I expect a miracle. I just know something's going to happen that's so phenomenal it's going to blow me away. Genevieve Behrend was the only student of Judge Thomas Troward. In my opinion, Thomas Troward is one of the greatest authors of the last 500 years. Bar none. He wrote the Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science, the Dore Lectures of Mental Science, The Law and the Word: Creative Writing, just so much good stuff. Phenomenal author. He only ever had one student, just one. Genevieve Behrend. She was an American woman. She had to move to England. She had to come up with $20,000 in 1912. How much has that in today's dollars? It is a lot of money. She had absolutely no idea how she could come up with the $20,000, but she had because she wants to study with him. And this wasn't something that was offered ever, ever to anyone else. She was his only student. She memorized what is on this page. This is what she claims put her in his presence to study. This is so important. "My mind is a center of divine operation." Now let's just think of that. You know one of the most important letter or word in this whole piece of literature or in that whole book is A. My mind is a center, a center. There's a center in everything, but there's only one center. Just one. Nothing has two centers. Everything has one. "Isn't it strange, my mind a center." It would indicate there's more than one. There's more than one. How could there be more than one? There isn't any outer ring. There's no outside measurement. You're dealing with something that's infinite. Therefore, any point is center. Everyone, there's as much on the right as there is on your left. There's as much above as there is below. There's much in front as there is behind. Your mind is a center of divine operation. Wow. Me, Bob, my mind is a center of divine operation. Then she says, "The divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression." This is so important. Consequently, my own special world of which I am the center, it will always move me forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of anything that's ever gone before. All those good things, it's going to go beyond that. That's so big. Everyone visualizes, whether he knows it or not. Visualizing is the great secret of success, and if we look back on our lives and we think about things that happened in our life that went really well for us, we can trace it to visualizing. We can see that we visualized it. Everyone does this. The athletes use this all the time. What happens with our imagination if we don't practice holding something on the screen of our mind? It uses us, doesn't it? Yeah. And we start getting these pictures in our mind of what we don't want. So you got to exercise it just like a workout routine, like if you're going to go run a marathon or something, you have to have a plan. Remember, subconscious mind, whatever you give it, it can't tell the difference. Is it real or is it imagined? Now most people never understand this and so we give our subconscious mind all kinds of untruths that we don't want to create, but we're creating. But if we use that with understanding, just imagine, just imagine what you can create. This is our power, this is the creative power, this is how we work with the creative process. We're not trying to figure out how to get there. We are there. That's the key, we're there. We feel as we would when we're there. When you do this and you really exercise discipline, and you practice this over and over, and really live from this place, you'll be amazed what you can create. When you think of faith and fear, they both require you to believe in something you cannot see. Why not choose faith? Latch onto what you want. Deliberately picture it. Carefully examine that picture. Is this what you really, really want? The will is the mental faculty that gives you the ability to hold one idea on the screen of the mind, to the exclusion of all outside distractions or ideas. I want you to start dreaming about what you want, and then discipline yourself that you're going to execute it. Now, you and I are constantly being inundated with ideas through our senses. See, hear, smell, taste, touch, it's flying into our mind. It's so easy to get off track. Most information that you pick up just as you go through your day is negative. It's very negative. Most people spend most of their time thinking of why things won't work. 97% of the population are locked into that. If you turn on your radio or your TV, the news, it's all negative. It's not good news it's bad news and people will sit and stare at it. Now your mind works in such a way that if you're not thinking your subconscious mind is wide open to impression and whatever's going on the ground, goes right into your subconscious mind. You become totally deductive to whatever environment you're in. It's very important that you mix with the right people. I am super selective about people that I spend a lot of time with. I don't think I'm any better than anybody. I think I'm a lot more fortunate than most, but I don't think I'm any better than anybody. There's just some people I don't want to be around them a lot. It's doom and gloom. It's bad times. I love what Nightingale said, "Don't talk about your health unless you're talking to a doctor." Do you know if you're not feeling well and you talk to somebody about it, you know what they're going to do? They're going to sympathize. What are they going to do? They're going to add more bad energy to the bad energy you're talking and thinking about. If you go to the doctor, the doctor isn't going to give you sympathy the doctor is going to give you a direction how to get better. So don't talk about your health unless you're talking to a doctor. You might want to turn that into a little mantra in your mind. Well, here we want to learn to make decisions, and then we want to discipline ourself. Decision without discipline it probably turns into wishing. Discipline is to give yourself a command and then follow it. It's the ability to give yourself a command and then follow it. It's okay to want. You shouldn't be reluctant to want. And don't reject the want. If you want it, understand where it's coming from. It's coming from the essence of who you are. It's coming from your heart, the heart of hearts. It's coming from the spiritual core of your being. See Spirit wants to express itself in a greater way, and you're the instrument. Spirit works through you. Spirit doesn't do anything on its own, you've got to do it. That's where the wants come from. I want, understand that's coming from inside. It's not you want to get, it's you want to grow. As you're going after whatever it is you want, that's for growth. It's not to obtain. Everything you own at the time of your death is going to belong to somebody else. You never own anything anyway. You're merely a custodian. You can have it. You can use it. You can share it. But you can't own it. It's a joke. People think they own it, "I own this land." You can't own it. The Indians that were here before we arrived, they laughed at us when we started to say, "We own the land." We don't own the land, the land owns us. You see, all we're doing is stripping away a lot of the nonsense and looking at the basic truths about life. Want, it's good to want. What we want to start doing is dreaming out loud. When the Wright brothers started to talk about a plane in the air, everyone thought they were crazy. We should be at the point today where nothing's crazy. If you can think it, you can do it. There is a place. When you use your imagination, you're just going onto a higher frequency. It's got nothing to do with your age. It's got nothing to do with gender. It has nothing to do with race, nationality, none of that stuff. We're all same. We just look and sound different, but we're all the same. The wants just come to the surface. You have to ask, "Where did they come from?" Such an interesting concept, they come from inside, and it's only through constant spaced repetition and deep level of understanding that you will plant that in your heart. It's wild the way it happens. It comes from Spirit. You give it back to Spirit. And through the reciprocal love, Spirit gives it back to you in physical form. That's the way it works. There's nothing complicated. Don't confuse it. Now, really think, intuitive mind is a sacred gift, it's a sacred gift, and you know something? Nine out of 10 people couldn't tell you what it is. They don't know. They don't know what separates them from all the rest form of animal life, they don't know. Most of them don't even know they don't know. This is sick. Why weren't we taught this? They didn't know. Now, whoever they are. You have the will. You have a mental faculty that gives you the ability to zero in on something, just like a laser. In fact, it's more powerful than a laser. This is the most powerful. You have the will, you have memory. Did you know there's no such thing as a bad memory? Jerry Lucas used to be up in San Francisco teaching people to memorize the Bible. Memory, the will, intuition, reason, imagination. These are all higher faculties. That's really what separates you from all the rest of the animal kingdom. Isn't it almost mind-blowing that we're not taught this? Imagination isn't something just kids play with until they get a little older. "Imagination," Hill said, "is the most marvelous, miraculous, inconceivably, powerful force the world has ever known." You have one, it's one of your higher faculties. That was that sacred gift. Should we understand it? Should we exercise it and use it for the good that we want? Live in healthier bodies, have bigger bank accounts, build bigger companies, help more people. There's no shortage of good ideas flowing into your mind. There is no shortage. There's an abundance of them. While you're driving, while you were in the shower, while you're eating dinner, while you're talking to somebody, you take mental breaks. Everyone has these ideas, you them flying on your mind, don't you? Yeah, you do. But we discard them as fast as they come. Why would we do that? Why wouldn't we keep them there and focus on them? Say, "I can do that. I can do that." Why? Because we're ignorant. Paradigm is in control of you. Don't think it's not, it is. It is in control of you. It's a demon inside of you, and it talks to you and it tells you, "Don't do that. Are you crazy? Go ahead do it. Don't do it." It's in control. You know something, 97% of the time the damn thing wins. It does. I don't care how sophisticated you are, I don't care how smart you are, I don't care how religious you are. I don't care about any of those things, your paradigm is in control. It's been programmed right into the cells in your being. Stop and think of how you got here, little particle of energy from Mom, little particle of energy from Dad comes swimming along. They were in resonance, and that is the nucleus of you. Then for 280 days, an attractive force went to work, and all of Mom's DNA and all of Dad's DNA, where'd their DNA come from? Their mother and their dad. Where did their, from their mothers and their dads. God knows how far back this goes. You're the product of other people. You're their confluence of thinking that goes back for God knows how far. That's who you are. That's why you look like you do. That's why you've got the hair you've got. That's why you're the height you are, and the weight are. That's why your foot is wide or narrow. This is all programmed into us. Then, 280 days later we make our debut on the planet, and we become programmed by the people we're surrounded by. This is real and you're not going to get it in school, because the teachers don't know it. Look, this is really a black or white deal. It doesn't matter how hard you work, it doesn't matter how many hours you put in, if the paradigm doesn't change ultimately results remain the same from one year to the next. That's why people go right through their life living much the same as their parents, and their grandparents, and their great grandparents. Nothing changes=, just as prejudice, bigoted, ignorant, from one generation to the next. You must alter the paradigm if you desire to improve your results. both companies and individuals operate in paradigms. Countries operate in paradigms. Families have paradigms. To be able to shape your future, though, you have to be willing and able to change your paradigm. See, the point is, you don't know how much future you've got. What's gone is gone. There's absolutely nothing you can do about it. Some of you have had divorces. Some of you have probably had bankruptcies. Some of you've had terrible things happen in the past, but what's gone is gone. It's in the past. And to spend your time focusing on the past is to spend the only thing that you've got, and that's what's right here, right now, because the sand never stops running. This is all we've got, and to spend your time now thinking of what happened there is making absolute certain that the future is going to be the same as the past. I don't suppose many of us spend a lot of time thinking about that, but a lot of us spend a lot of time making that error. That's an excellent symbol. All you got is now. I remember years and years ago, I suffered with headaches, terrible headaches. I got to the point where I was taking Bufferin for the headaches. Then I got to the point where I was taking Sinutab with codeine for headaches. There was 16 in the bottle, and I got to the point where I was taking two bottles a day. As a matter of fact, most times I didn't even remember my head not aching, but I was sort of numb all the time. Of course, with that much junk in you, I guess you couldn't be any other way. I remember talking to this chap. I was in the Hotel Vancouver and I was picking up two heavy briefcases or suitcases, and I was in a real rush to get the airport. He said, "What's the matter with you?" He said, "You look like you're going to pass out." And I said, "I feel like I am." He said, "What's the matter?" And I said, "My head is aching so bad. I feel sick to my stomach. Now, some of you suffer with this, and I felt like banging my head against the wall, it was so much pain. He said, "Go and sit down in that chair." And I said, "I don't have time. I got to catch a plane." He said, "Listen, you can always get another plane. You only get one head." He said to me, "Do you know what forgive means?" And by the way he asked the question, I just thought I probably don't, and I said, "Well, I don't know." He says, "Forgive means let go of, completely abandon. Just let it go unequivocally, no strings attached." Now he said, "If you want to rid yourself of headaches, just forgive all the thoughts that are on your mind and you just listen to me," and he put me in a totally relaxed state. I felt better than I had felt for years. You guys, you're going to find that your head is aching because of the things you're not letting go of, and it's causing tension and it's causing an abnormal state of vibration in the cells and the brain, which causes the blood to rush to the head. As you put yourself in a totally relaxed state, you simply become programmed to relax. I know that I would not be able to do what I do, as often as I do it and as long as I do it, if I wasn't relaxed. Leland Val Vanderwall said something when we were sitting having coffee, and I jotted it down. Every time this guy opens his mouth, he drops a pearl, and so wise. He said, "Let us not look back in anger nor forward in fear, but around us in awareness." Was there ever depth in that? Let's not look back in anger.
