Wyndham Clark led basically from start to finish at Shinnecock Hills to win his 2nd U.S. Open Championship. He showed impeccable short games skills on the weekend as he didn't have his best ball striking. Even more impressive is the fact that he held together even with a hostile New York crowd on his case after most shots. For the second straight year, the tournament winner got to -30, even after architect Lanny Wadkins guaranteed that his renovation would prevent that. We will talk all about the course be incredibly easy, to the resurgent play of Clark, who had been struggling the last few seasons on tour. This week, the PGA of America apparently learned nothing and named Keegan Bradley assistant captain for the 2027 Ryder Cup. Rumors were swirling this week that they may shut down immediately, but they will be operational through 2026. What does this spell for the league? What started to look like a runaway victory for Rory McIlroy on Friday night turned into a dramatic Sunday at Augusta National for the 90th playing of the Masters. After shooting 74 on Saturday, Cam Young caught him to tie the lead heading into the final round. In the final round, multiple players were within a shot of the lead for much of the day, before McIlroy pulled out the victory. Cameron Young got it done on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass for his 2nd career win on the PGA Tour and biggest of his career yet to date. The current number 4 player in the world used a birdie on 17 and a huge drive on 18 to catapult him to a one shot victory over Matthew Fitzpatrick, who missed an 8 footer for par and the tie on 18. Ludvig Aberg held a three shot lead midway through the round but collapsed, opening the door for Young and Fitzpatrick to duke it out down the stretch. Golf is a crazy and brutal game, even for the best in the world. Shane Lowry found that out this week at PGA National for the Cognizant Classic. With a three-shot lead on the 16th tee, he flared an iron into the water, which resulted in a double bogey. On the 17th tee shot he did it again, which allowed Nico Echavarria to take home the title. Anthony Kim completed a stunning career comeback this weekend as he bested Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau by firing a final round 63 to win going away at LIV Adelaide. For Kim it was his first win since 2010 on the PGA Tour and was a heartwarming story of overcoming injury, addiction and other things he has been battling. He showed the swagger we all remembered as he poured in put after put to win. On the PGA Tour, Collin Morikawa made a final hole birdie to hold off Min Woo Lee to win the AT&T Pebble Beach by a shot. It was professional golf's party week and we sent Tim down to Arizona for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He took in all the festivities and is gonna fill us in all the wild stuff he saw in Scottsdale. Chris Gotterup got his 2nd win of the season in a playoff over Hideki Matsuyama and a bogey on the last by Matsuyama sent it into a playoff, which Gotterup birdied the first playoff hole for the win. Scottie Scheffler made a run the last three rounds after an opening round 73, but he came up a shot short. We will give our reactions to the event and focus on some young players that stood out again and should get serious consideration for the Presidents Cup team. Patrick Read won again on the DP World Tour, his second victory in three weeks. This all but locks up a 2027 PGA Tour card for the former Masters champion. Justin Rose blew the doors off the rest of the field this week at Torrey Pines to win his 13th PGA Tour title of his career. Rose started the week hot posting a -10 (62) on the North Course and kept the good play going en route to a record breaking performance in the event with a winning score of -23. The Break80 Podcast made its way to Florida for the 2026 PGA Show in Orlando. It was our first time at the PGA Show and we were both floored and overwhelmed with this golf industry insiders event. The PGA Tour kicked off the 2026 season in Hawaii at the Sony Open. Chris Gotterup took home the title and moved to number 17 in the OWGR. It was a wild Monday on the PGA Tour as CEO Brian Rolapp announced a new plan for certain players to be reinstated to the PGA Tour - one of those players will be Brooks Koepka. Koepka will make his PGA Tour return in a few weeks at Torrey Pines. Anthony Kim played some clutch golf this week to finish third and qualify for a full season on LIV Golf in 2026. Scottie Scheffler won his fourth straight PGA Tour Player of the Year Award, becoming just the 3rd player to do that, joining Tiger Woods and Tom Watson. The final week of meaningful golf for 2025 has came and went with the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne, Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and the DP World Tour in South Africa. The Skins Game was back this week for the first time in ages at Panther National in Florida. Keegan Bradley was the big winner, but the bigger story may have been Xander Schauffele getting shut out out receiving a giant check for zero dollars. The 2025 PGA Tour season came to a close last week. Some players played their way into a 2026 PGA Tour card, while others played their way out of a card. The Internet Invitational has taken YouTube and the golf world by storm. We will have a heated discussion about the event and if Brad Dalke could play on the PGA Tour. Aaron Rai won in Abu Dhabi over Tommy Fleetwood with a birdie on the first playoff hole. Rory McIlroy fired a -10 in the final round to almost get into the playoff but fell a shot short at the 2nd to last event of the DP World Tour season. Ben Griffin, using a new putter this week, earned his 3rd tour victory of 2025, joining only Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy in doing so this year. This week the golf world got a new villain. At the Internet Invitational hosted by Barstool Sports and Bob Does Sports, some of the best & worst of the YouTube golfers came together for an event. Luke Kwon, one of YouTube golf's best players slept in and missed his tee time, which set off a frenzy as players on his own team could not believe it and Kwon was not apologetic and got the villain name attached to him.
