A farmer plants a seed and waters, fertilizes and protects it for 5 years before it ever breaks the surface. Many of us here today are living in the Bamboo Season. We keep praying, we keep believing, we keep showing up .... but it seems like nothing is happening. But just like the seed of the Bamboo Tree is planting roots deep into the earth that nobody can see, God is doing some of His deepest work beneath the surface of our lives.

Send us Fan MailOne of the greatest struggles in the human heart is the temptation to look backwards. We look back at old relationships, old mistakes, old addictions, old hurts. Sometimes, we even look back at the seasons in our life that were unhealthy and convince ourselves that they were better than they really were. Yet from Genesis to Revelation, God is always calling people to move forward. 

Send us Fan MailJesus teaches us in Matthew 13 that the condition of our heart will determine how we receive God's message and what (if anything) it can produce in our lives. The amazing thing ... no matter how hard our life has made our hearts, Jesus can change them. We just have to let go of the things we are holding onto so tightly that we don't have space to receive from the Lord. Whether it's pride, addiction, anger, possessions, Jesus asks us to release our grip on this things so he can start to plant something new in our hearts.

Not the polished, perfect words. But REAL PRAYER.Prayer is how broken people, like all of us, stay connected to God.

He would be right here, sitting with us and sharing real time with real people who are in real pain and in real struggle. And He would say the same thing He has always said: "Follow Me"."Follow Me" and let's start walking together. Most of the time, it happens slowly. One compromise, one moment, one decision that we try and justify and before we know it, we're somewhere we never thought we would be .... AGAIN.Today we take a surface look at the lives of Adam, Saul, Samson and David ... each one of them all had favour, each one of them had calling and they all had access to God. But all of them, at some point, drifted away from God.
