    This month, we celebrate Karly's three years sober! Then we interview Jolene Park of Healthy Discoveries. Jolene Park is a functional nutritionist, health coach, TEDx speaker, Former Gray Area Drinker and creator of the Gray Area Drinking Recovery Hub. Almost 5 years ago, she left gray area drinking behind and it has been her mission to guide and support others as they do the same. Founding Healthy Discoveries® in 2001, she has coached 100+ high achieving professionals through their own recovery process. In her TEDx talk about Gray Area Drinking she shares her personal alcohol and anxiety story and explains the importance of replenishing our neurotransmitters and nourishing our nervous systems in a comprehensive and consistent way. After realizing the impact of her TEDx talk she now certifies other coaches and health practitioners in her unique method, and runs the Nourish Your Cravings online community for former gray area drinkers to thrive.

    In this episode we interview Martha Slagy of the PERSAD Center. The PERSAD Center is an LGBTQ+ and HIV/AID human service organization located in Pittsburgh and Washington, PA. Martha has worked in many different areas including a mortgage company and campgrounds, but one part of her title has always stayed the same: Counselor, Today, Martha is a Counselor for the PERSAD Center, on the ground helping the LGBTQ+ community every day.     This month we had the opportunity to interview Meghan Sekone-Fraser. You might recall we interviewed her husband, Dion, in Episode 18. Meghan talks about going against the grain, being a rower, CrossFit coach, Muay Thai fighter, total badass and now soon to be Mom! A Pittsburgh girl at heart, life has taken her a lot of places including DC, New Zealand, Portland and now Austin. While in Portland, she worked for Society Nine, a woman-owned company that specializes in boxing gloves that are tailored for the female hand. Thanks to women like Meghan breaking glass ceilings, there are more opportunities for women everywhere.

    This month we had the opportunity to interview Lou Ickes, former college hockey player, member of True Believer Jiu Jitsu and Boss Hog of Brillobox in Bloomfield. Lou dives into the details surrounding the multiple concussions he’s experienced throughout his life and how they impact him to this day. Not only is he hilarious, he tells his story in a way that’s relatable to anyone that might be dealing with adversity in their lives.
