B!tch Bet Podcast

New episodes on 28th! Healing & growth are on going things. You have to work on them consistently. You have to get used to giving yourself a hard look. You have to decide if you want better for yourself. You have to choose yourself. But no one ever said that you have to do it by yourself. Or in the quiet. This podcast encourages people to shine a light on the darkest parts of their mind, by doing that myself. It also encourages them to want to be the best versions of themselves, for themselves. Sometimes it is not very fun or enjoyable, but sometimes it is also what needs to be done.In case no one has told you today, you are enough. You didn’t do anything wrong. You weren’t the problem. You have always been enough.I could even say that my main goal is to make sure that I am not the same person that raised me. It stops with me.🫶🏻🩶

E19 - “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”

Coming to the decision to take a break from the podcast was not an easy one, but I think it’s the correct decision that I needed to make. Starting this podcast, I set out to help people through their own traumas by sharing my own & sharing journey on working through those traumas so they no longer have any influence on my life. Or as little influence as possible. And I still hope that the episodes that I have posted are still able to help anyone who comes across this podcast. As a woman & going through my own body acceptance, I have started noticing when other women talk negatively about themselves in any manner & I have found that I don’t like it. I have also noticed over the years just how nasty women can be to one another. I don’t like that either.Over the years my husband & I have had numerous conversations pertaining to women and men, where both of us have tried to show the other what our experiences have been so we can have a better understanding of what the other has gone through. I am sure it is a conversation that we will continue to have since it it’s important to keep that dialogue open.“Another turning point, a fork stuck in the roadTime grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go”- Green DayIf you would like to support the podcast or get access to the bonus Random Rant episodes, check out my Patreon.patreon.com/bitchbetpodcastThis episode was named after Green Day’s song “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).” You can find this and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=Yl7noF1nQVqH1FFFaVxz7gFollow the podcast:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastRumble @bitchbetpodcastText me here 😊

    E18 - "Just Like You"

This month consisted of going back to the house where all my trauma and pain had happened as well as being around one of the people that caused some of the pain and trauma. Leading up to the trip I was worried about all the different things that could happen during my time there. I was also just having to accept that I was going to have to be around a person who I haven’t cared for in a very long time.I am forever grateful the my husband was with me on this trip, even though I know he had his own feelings about returning to a place that caused him pain and trauma. He was still about to be a stable force for me and provided me my own personal safe place in a house that was no longer safe for me.“I am aware that I am an assholeI really don't care about all of that thoughI'm living my lifeThe way that I want to”- Falling In ReverseWhen asked if I hated someone that caused me a lot of pain, my response is no, I don’t hate them. I’m just not interested in their existence. Like I said in E0, “if that makes me the villain, then I will adjust my crown accordingly.” I have never minded being an asshole. If you would like to support the podcast or get access to the bonus Random Rant episodes, check out my Patreon.patreon.com/bitchbetpodcastThis episode was named after Falling In Reverse’s song “Just Like You” You can find this and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=7Z5Jb44DRKKfO1fUP1u5dQFollow the podcast:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastRumble @bitchbetpodcastText me here 😊

    E17 - “The Prophecy”

We are talking about the Universe this month. Ever changing, ever evolving, ever expanding. You get to hear about the different moments that happened throughout this month that caused me to start thinking about the Universe.I also have a tangent about the emo nite that my husband & I went to (emo kids unite) as well as my thoughts on the selection of dude jeans.“I guess a lesser woman would've lost hopeA greater woman wouldn't begBut I looked to the sky and saidPlease I've been on my kneesChange the prophecyDon't want moneyJust someone who wants my companyLet it once be meWho do I have to speak toAbout if they can redo the prophecy?”- Taylor SwiftI liked this song for the episode because she is pleading with the Universe to change her fate, her prophecy. If you know anything about Taylor Swift, then you know that it did indeed change. E16 - “Butterfly Kisses”

Looking back, it is interesting how our relationships with our parents (mainly my dad for me) change as we progress through our lives. This month I dive into the changes that I have noticed with my relationship with my dad. I may not need my dad the same way I did when I was a child, but he has showed me early on that he is someone that I can always depend on. He has never wavered on being a support system for me, even now with me being married & living in a different state. It’s not always the easiest thing to unpack feelings towards your parents when they have fallen short, but it’s good to remind yourself that they are human too. No specific lyrics to highlight this month, this is just mine & my dad’s song. If you would like to support the podcast or get access to the bonus Random Rant episodes, check out my Patreon. patreon.com/bitchbetpodcast This episode was named after Bob Carlisle’s song “Butterfly Kisses.” You can find this and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=am70iGWNTzSQ6zyoRjRSeA Follow the podcast: Instagram @bitchbetpodcast X (twitter) @bitchbetpodcast YouTube @BitchBetPodcast Rumble @bitchbetpodcast Text me here 😊

    E15 - "Oath"

With me starting my new job this month, it got me thinking about friendships and how I am so grateful to have the amazing people in my life that I get the privilege to call my friends. Meeting people is not always the easiest for me since I will do anything & everything possible to avoid having to talk to people, but it sometimes is necessary. It also allows you the opportunity to potentially meet someone amazing who you won’t be able to live without. I also reminisce about past jobs as well as the people that I was fortunate enough to meet while there. Friendships forged during the worst shift imaginable are not talked about enough. Are you a “Hello” person? “You need a hand? And I'm right there right beside you You in the dark? I'll be the bright light to guide you… Wherever you go, just always remember That you got a home for now and forever And if you get low, just call me whenever This is my oath to you” - Cher Lloyd If you would like to support the podcast or get access to the bonus Random Rant episodes, check out my Patreon. patreon.com/bitchbetpodcast This episode was named after Cher Lloyd’s song “Oath" featuring Becky G. E14 - "Heart of a Champion"

This is a more mellow episode for this month. A bit of a life update and some reflection on the past few months. Some reasons why you should never settle because great partners exist and you deserve to have one. I am proud of myself for how I was able to manage and handle not having a job for so long. It wasn't always easy but me and the hubby made it through it. "Yeah, compare me to none 'Cause I got the heart of a champion" - Johnny 3 Tears (Hollywood Undead) If it's not okay than it isn't over. E13 - “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?/Who Says/F**kin’ Perfect”

We have video ladies & gentlemen! Video is available on YouTube & Rumble! This episode I talk about my decision behind making the switch from audio to video. I also talk about my journey with my own body image & how in recent months I have started making strides towards being nicer to myself. When it came picking the song for this episode, I had one song in mind the entire time I was making this episode, but then as I was editing two more songs came to mind. I couldn’t pick between the three, so since it’s my podcast & I can do what I want, I decided that I didn’t have to choose. I also couldn’t have picked three better women to help me represent this episode because they are all inspiring in their own ways, beautiful inside & out. Their songs have held my hands throughout the years. “I want to snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me You wouldn't last an hour In the asylum where they raised me” - Taylor Swift This was the original solo title of this episode because when I had the realization about myself, this was the song that immediately popped into my head. Because honestly, who’s afraid of little old me? It just brought in the right type of energy for this month’s episode. I also really connect with the above lyrics because I have said multiple times throughout my life, that certain people wouldn’t have been able to survive what I had to go through. I also with this being E13, it almost felt wrong not to do a Taylor Swift song. IYKYK. “Who says, who says you're not perfect? Who says you're not worth it? Who says you're the only one that's hurting? Who says you're not pretty? Who says you're not beautiful? Who says you're not star potential? Who says you're not presidential? Who says you can't be in movies? Who says you don't pass the test? Who says you can't be the best? Who said, who said? Won't you tell me who said that?” - Selena Gomez & The Scene Picking the lyrics from this song was difficult because I just love this song as a whole and think that it is such a beautiful reminder, especially for women. When this song came out, I was still very much in the thick of the verbal onslaught that I would receive in my house, but finding this song at that age was like a breath of fresh air. It really helped me to try to see my own beauty and to accept myself as is. Took me many years later to actually start making progress, but better late than never. We are all beautiful. “Pretty, pretty please, don't you ever, ever feel Like you're less than fuckin' perfect Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel Like you're nothin', you're fuckin' perfect to me You're so mean when you talk About yourself, you were wrong Change the voices in your head Make them like you instead”- P!nk Also just another great reminder for women everywhere! I really felt like she was talking directly to me the first time I heard this song. As I said in E1, songs find you when you need them to and this song found me. I’m pretty sure I had this song on repeat for a few days because I really just needed her to tell me that I was fucking perfect just as I was and still am.If you would like to support the podcast or get access to the bonus Random Rant episodes, check out my Patreon. patreon.com/bitchbetpodcastThis episode was named after Taylor Swift’s song “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” Selena Gomez & The Scene’s song “Who Says” and P!nk’s song “F**ckin’ Perfect.” You can find these and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=Goe_yHoSQRK1KUn5O6MYGQ Follow the podcast:  Instagram @bitchbetpodcast  X (twitter) @bitchbetpodcast  YouTube @BitchBetPodcast  Rumble @bitchbetpodcast Text me here 😊

    E12 - "Smile So Much"

HAPPY 1 YEAR TO B!TCH BET PODCAST!This is a long one because I was able to convince my beautiful cousin Amanda to come join me for a conversation! We talk about how her feelings towards me had changed throughout the years and we were able to shift from her avoiding me to us going on cousin dates together. We share funny stories from our going out days (oh, how I miss them and am still down for a night out with my cousin). We give our thoughts on marriage, hot takes and in-laws. We talk fashion, well she does because she actually knows what she’s doing, while i’m just over here winging it.She then had the opportunity to ask me something. We also have a few tangents in there along the way, some are about family, some are about body portions, others are about gossip and inner monologues.I hope you all enjoy listening to this episode as much as I did while I was recording it.“If you'd seen all the tears I criedYou would know why I smile so much…Even when it's hardEven when it feels like fallin' apartIf you'd seen all the tears I criedYou would know why I smile so much”- Jelly RollI was so happy to find this song while I was editing and it is definitely a song that my cousin and I can relate to. E11 - "Scars"

What no one tells you about choosing to heal from your trauma is the frustration and rage that you will feel throughout the journey. The unfairness of it all. How it sometimes doesn’t feel like you are making any progress with your healing because the bandage keeps getting ripped off. How it is now your responsibility to clean up a mess that you had no hand in creating, while the person that caused the mess just gets to walk away.I have always hated the saying “trauma makes you stronger” because it felt like I should be grateful for the trauma that was forced upon me at such a young age. When in actuality, my trauma made me traumatized and it was MY choice to start healing from the trauma that made me stronger. You never deserved the trauma. It was never your fault. You have always been enough.“My scars remind me that the past is real…I tear my heart open, I sew myself shut…I can't help you fix yourselfBut at least I can say I triedI'm sorry but I gotta move on with my own life.”- Papa RoachThese lyrics really highlight some of the different aspects of healing from trauma, at least for me. Trauma leaves scars behind, even if we are the only ones that can see it. Healing from trauma does feel like you’re having to constantly tear yourselves open then sew it all back together. Then eventually you reach a point in your journey where you have to leave people in the past because they don’t want to do the work on themselves. If you would like to support the podcast, find my Patreon here:https://patreon.com/bitchbetpodcast?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLinkThis episode was named after Papa Roach's song “Scars” You can find it and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=f2a479509dee4462Follow the podcast: Instagram @bitchbetpodcast X (twitter) @bitchbetpodcast YouTube @BitchBetPodcast Rumble @bitchbetpodcastText me here 😊

E10 - "Who Are You Now"

Who am I? Our identity is one of, if not, the most important aspect of ourselves. It can be very easy to lose it and sometimes the hardest thing to find. There are times in our lives where we can't answer that question and we don't know how we've gotten to point where we don't recognize the person looking back at us.This month I talk about my own journey through the different phases of my identity. From not even having one (or not remembering it) to having it wrapped around another person to starting the processes of answering that question for myself. As with anything worth doing in life, being the person that you want to be or changing the person that you are, requires work. It requires you to show up for yourself in the most "prove it" type of way. It requires you to unlearn habits that past versions of yourself put in place to help you survive those situations/people."Sometimes you gotta fall before you flyAnd sometimes you really live, you've gotta tryWe can change it all together, in the end you're gonna findThat what we felt in our hearts was real the whole timeWhen you open up your eyes, I hope that you findWho you are, who you are"- Sleeping With SirensPicking the lyrics to highlight from this song was a bit of a challenge because there were so many good lines to choose from. There are a number of songs by Sleeping With Sirens that I hold close to my heart and this was the perfect song to represent this month's episode. If you would like to support the podcast, find my Patreon here:https://patreon.com/bitchbetpodcast?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLinkThis episode was named after Sleeping With Sirens's song “Who Are You Now.” You can find it and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=f2a479509dee4462Follow the podcast: Instagram @bitchbetpodcast X (twitter) @bitchbetpodcast YouTube @BitchBetPodcast Rumble @bitchbetpodcastText me here 😊

    E9 - "Help"

"I think I need helpI'm drowning in myselfDid someone turn the lights outOr is it just another dark cloud in my head?"- Papa RoachAs with life, this month decided to take a turn for the worst and the battle against my depression and its new found friend anxiety began. I decided to make the shift with this month's episode because it is important to me to show you all when I am struggling instead of just talking about how I have overcome my struggles from the past.Since getting fired from my job, I have experienced both good and bad days. But it is on those bad days that I need to remind myself to ask for help. Sometimes all that is needed is a shoulder to lean on when I have a breakdown or an ear to listen to get everything that is flying around my mind out.If you have found yourself struggling with your own demons this month, know that I am right there with you battling mine. The darkness cannot win against us all.I have created a Patreon "Tip Jar" for anyone that feels inclined, but nothing is expected.https://patreon.com/bitchbetpodcast?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLinkThis episode was named after Papa Roach's song “Help.” You can find it and more in BBPlaylist on Spotify.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=f2a479509dee4462Follow the podcast: Instagram @bitchbetpodcast X (twitter) @bitchbetpodcast YouTube @BitchBetPodcast Rumble @bitchbetpodcastText me here 😊

“Every change, life has thrown meI'm thankful, for every break in my heartI'm grateful, for every scar”Carrie UnderwoodMistakes. No one likes to be reminded of them. We all wish we didn’t make them. Hell during certain parts of this month I thought picking this topic was a mistake. But they are apart of life. They help us learn. They allow us to grow. They can be a pain in the ass, but they are a necessity for us all. As much as we wish we could go back to fix our past mistakes, it’s those same mistakes that led us to where we are today. This episode was named after Carrie Underwood’s song “Lessons Learned.” You can find it and more in BBPlaylist.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=b19482005f994ac9Follow the podcast:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastRumble @bitchbetpodcast Text me here 😊

    E7 - "Whatever It Takes"

“I do whatever it takes'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains”- Imagine Dragons***CORRECTION***Regarding the statement to my fan that sent me a text message last month, they are my WYOMING listener. I apologize on getting the state incorrect, I'm only human. This month we welcomed the amazingly talented and wonderful Lady Eagle on the Podcast!!We talk about her art journey and some of the perspectives that she has experienced throughout her path. Then she got the chance to ask me some of her burning questions about the podcast. There’s laughs. There are compliments. There is definitely some cringe. And as always, some new perspectives to think about. I had such a fabulous time recording this episode and I hope that it’s enjoyed. E6 - "Mansion"

“I put holes in the walls with both of my fists 'til they bleedYou might get a glimpse of how I cope with all this anger in me…I gotta thank you for this anger that I carry aroundWish I could take a match and burn this whole room to the ground”- NFI feel that anger is treated as some taboo emotion that we are told and taught to avoid. That we shouldn’t express this emotion in fear of being labeled as aggressive or toxic or abusive. Yes, people that are those things tend to weaponize their anger to cause harm to others, which is in no way, shape or form okay. But being mad about someone stealing your package or cutting you off in traffic, shouldn’t have you labeled as those things. Anger is a completely normal emotion to have and can be expressed or released without having to cause harm to yourself or anyone else.Suppressing anger will only make it worse. Suppressing any emotion only makes it worse, take it from someone who put all emotions, except anger, in a box and didn’t touch it for over 2 decades.Being able to suppress your anger doesn’t mean that you have a handle on it because once it builds up and it becomes too much to suppress, it’s going to explode and you are not going to be able to control it.It is possible to use your anger in a positive way, as a driving force, as a motivator. You can use this emotion to your advantage, I do.This episode was named after NF’s song “Mansion” featuring Fleurie. E5 - "Gives You Hell"

“And truth be told, I miss you (I miss you)And truth be told, I'm lyin'”- The All-American RejectsIf I am being honest, picking the song for this episode was rather difficult since I was stuck between two options, but these lyrics fit the episode the best.I am a firm believer in cutting people out of your life if they no longer serve you. Cut the dead weight. Get rid of it. I don’t understand the need to keep someone around solely because of the time they have been in your life, especially when they don’t add anything to your life except difficult times, drama, stress and hurt feelings.People have to earn my caring, I don’t give it out to anyone anymore. I don’t give out titles to people in my life just because they have been around for a certain amount of time. Some might think of me as cynical, but it’s not that I think the worst of people or anything like that. I simply do not have the energy to give to people that don’t deserve it.I stand by the decisions I made and no one will be able to convince me otherwise. This episode was named after The All-American Rejects’s song “Gives You Hell.”  You can find it and more in BBPlaylist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=a8d47b3009f84d97For more information on the podcast you can follow:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcast Want to know about my beliefs?- E1Need some background?- E0Text me here 😊

    E4 - "One More Time"

“Do I have to die to hear you miss me?Do I have to die to hear you say goodbye?”- Blink-182When it came time for me to name this month’s episode, I’ll admit that I was stumped for a bit. Since I usually try to have the song that I name the episode after tie into the topic, it took me some time to find a song that fit. Then I remembered Blink-182. They have gone through a lot as a band and have been in each other’s lives for decades. And as a fan, I wasn’t sure if they were going to end up back together. I am thrilled that they were able to work through their pasts and be able to make steps towards their future together. We wouldn’t have gotten songs like, “One More Time” without the three of them having to come together in order to have those hard conversations. And I am thrilled that they did because from the sounds of their album, the conversations were for the better. For those that have not heard Bréne Brown’s TedTalk, “The Power of Vulnerability,” you can listen to it here.https://www.ted.com/talks/brene_brown_the_power_of_vulnerability?utm_campaign=tedspread&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshareThis episode was named after Blink-182’s song “One More Time.” You can find it and more in BBPlaylist.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=12df335de0f24220For more information on the podcast you can follow:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastText me here 😊

“No, Haley. I have avoided the mainstream media for years because anytime I caught a story that they were covering, it just made me mad. So when it came time to decide what this month’s episode was going to be about, it became obvious to me that I needed to share my knowledge of how journalism is supposed to work and how the mainstream media is failing us as a country. If you agree with this critique, share this episode and follow the podcast wherever you listen so you don’t miss an episode. For more information on the podcast you can follow:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcast This episode was named after Green Day’s song “American Idiot.” You can find it and others songs that have helped during a tough time in BBPlaylist.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=8fjuxjYbRqO2WVycnA7vsw&pi=u-kYQ3zRP4SlOiText me here 😊

My journey to answering this question isn’t what most people would expect, but I encourage you to not disregard something just because you disagree with it.To Mr. Whitmore, I am sorry that it took me so long to take your advice, but hopefully I have been able to understand the importance behind why you gave us this advice.Episode mentioned: Artist Friendly with Joel Maddenhttps://open.spotify.com/episode/06Q0sqi2fagN4opdp4OcoF?si=e62541b61a9d40f0So, what do you believe in?You can find and follow the podcast on:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastThis episode was named after Shinedown’s song “Unity.” You can find it and others songs that have helped during a tough time in BBPlaylist.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=8fjuxjYbRqO2WVycnA7vsw&pi=u-kYQ3zRP4SlOiText me here 😊

This is the launch for my passion project, B!tch Bet Podcast. I wanted to create something that lets people know that they are not alone in their struggles by showcasing my own. This episode illustrates my own journey with not only depression, but also my path towards healing from the traumas that I experienced during my childhood. Recovering from wounds that you were not even aware of is a difficult task to overcome on your own. I would know because I did it, but that does not mean that everyone has too. We all have our own inner strength, let’s find it together. You can find and follow the podcast on:Instagram @bitchbetpodcastX (twitter) @bitchbetpodcastYouTube @BitchBetPodcastThis episode was named after Krewella’s song “Human.” You can find it and others songs that have helped during a tough time in, BBPlaylist.https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2NwU6CVgJbHfgv8WWEuz6S?si=8fjuxjYbRqO2WVycnA7vsw&pi=u-kYQ3zRP4SlOiText me here 😊

ABOUT THIS SHOW
