In the very early hours of December 25, 1945, the Sodder family, which consisted of parents George and Jennie and their 10 children, was asleep in their beds when the home caught fire. Georgie, Jennie, and four of their children rushed out of the home, yelling for the other five to run out too, but they didn’t hear them rushing downstairs. Multiple attempts were made to rescue the children and get them to safety, but they were all unsuccessful.When the fire department finally arrived, the home had burned down. When Yingying Zhang arrived in Illinois as a visiting scholar from China, she was filled with excitement, knowing that this opportunity would help advance her academic career. After arriving in late April 2017, she concentrated on her research and began to settle into a routine. However, what was meant to be a wonderful opportunity turned into an unimaginable tragedy. On June 9, after Yingying did not return to campus from lunch, her colleagues became concerned and reported her missing later that evening. Early in the investigation, police discovered that Yingying had been approached by a black vehicle while she was waiting for a bus. When 41-year-old chef Joe Vuli didn't show up for work on Monday, April 6, 2004, his business partner and nephew, Marash Gojcaj, wasn't too concerned. His uncle, Joe, tended to take a breather when things got too hectic at their restaurant, Gusto. After a couple of days of not hearing from Joe, he was reported missing by Marash and Joe's brother on April 8. The investigation into his disappearance began immediately, but it would take weeks before Joe was found. On April 24, a group of cleaning volunteers came across a back trash bag in a wooded area. Ronald Cohen sold his home in Jericho, Long Island, in September 1999, and was ecstatic about it. America was introduced to Ariel Robinson, a teacher, during the 20th season of the Food Network's competition show "Worst Cooks in America," which aired in summer 2020. She won the competition and was awarded $25,000, which she stated she would use to help expand her family. Soon after, she and her husband, Jerry, went on to foster multiple children, including a 3-year-old girl named Victoria Rose Smith, in the hope of eventually adopting them. Everything seemed to be going well, with Ariel claiming on social media that Victoria was the daughter she never had. However, things took a terrible turn when, on January 14, 2021, EMS was called to the Robinson home regarding an unconscious child who would end up passing away, Victoria. When Victoria's autopsy confirmed that the cause of her death was blunt force trauma, her death was ruled a homicide. On Halloween night in 1984, 31-year-old Doreen Erbert expected to relax after taking her four-year-old daughter, DeAnna, trick-or-treating. After her husband, Charles, left home to run to the nearby convenience store, Doreen planned to stop giving out candy and watch movies on the couch.
