Can You Give Me A Flick?

Bryce and Nic both are both involved in the entertainment industry AND they both love movies! While Bryce scoffs at Nic's artistic and glossy recommendations, Nic turns his nose at Bryce's gritty and often macho taste. The duo go back and forth by giving each other flicks to watch and dissecting them the only way they know how, by ripping them to pieces!

  1. 111

    All About Eve

This week the boys kick off a new countdown as Bryce and Nic pick their top three OSCAR FLICKS! Nic gets us underway with All About Eve, a supposedly timeless classic that won it way back in the 1950s. Widely considered one of the greatest films ever made, but will it have the same charm on Bryce?

  2. 110

    Together

For Bryce's favourite film of the year, we look at the debut from Aussie filmmaker Michael Shanks, the Alison Brie and David Franco led body horror Together. Nic is hugely surprised by this selection, but can he get on board?

  3. 109

    Splitsville

Nic unveils his FAVOURITE FILM of 2025 with the indie darling Splitsville. While this is an unexpected pick, it has all the trapping of a Nic pick. The big question is though, can Bryce get on board with this bizarre and unusual romantic comedy?

  4. 108

    One Battle After Another

After Nic had himself a successful outing with his second favourite film of 2025, we move onto Bryce's runner up which the Academy had first! This is the second Paul Thomas Anderson film on this podcast and the first selected by Bryce. Will Nic get on board with this relatively macho epic, or will it be a bit much for the artsy fella?

  5. 107

    Train Dreams

Bryce and Nic's countdown of their favourite films of 2025 heats up as Nic picks his second favourite of the year. The irony of it is that Bryce had this one picked from a mile away, but will he be impressed with a film that Nic considers "BEAUTIFUL"?

  6. 106

    Roofman

After beginning the process of the first countdown on the podcast, we push on to Bryce's third favourite film of 2025 after Nic revealed his last week. Bryce has given a nod to Derek Cianfrance's Roofman, a remarkable true story starring Channing Tatum. Can Nic get on board with this one, or will it fall flat?

  7. 105

    Season Premiere: Die My Love

The countdown is on as we kick off the brand new season of Bryce and Nic's Can You Give Me A Flick? The boys dissect the Oscars, the year that was in movies, the concept for the new season and Nic gives one of his favourites of 2025. The premiere gives us Lynne Ramsay's Die My Love, her second on this podcast and the first one from Nic. Will Bryce get on board with this arthouse classic?

  8. 104

    Christmas Special: Bad Santa

After a deeply disappointing outing for Nic in last year’s Christmas Special, Bryce gets to pick the film and elects for a politically incorrect one. Will Nic be at all charmed by the pitch black comedy of Bad Santa?

  9. 103

    The 100th Episode Special

Bryce and Nic celebrate their 100th episode of the show by cracking a beer, reminiscing on their favourite moments on the show, watching a movie that was drafted TOGETHER and talking through it

  10. 102

BONUS: The 100th Episode Movie Draft

Bryce and Nic take an unorthodox means to draft the film they will watch for their 100th episode.

  11. 101

    Alex Garland’s Civil War

With one episode shy of the 100, Bryce gets us back on track with an ACTUAL FILM and the first Alex Garland with 2024’s Civil War. The question will remain, will Bryce’s final recommendation get Nic on side?

  12. 100

Hard To Be A God (2013)

In what could be considered the most controversial episode of Can You Give Me A Flick? Nic chooses potentially the most divisive film ever made for his final pick of the season, but there's a plot twist coming that may potentially anger out entire listener base.

  13. 99

    Caught Stealing

It’s about that time that Darren Aronofsky makes his long awaited debut on the show, this time in the form of a macho film. Bryce gives Nic one of his favourite films of the year, the Austin Butler led Caught Stealing. Will Nic find enjoyment from the latest effort of a great filmmaker or will he be left wanting more from this genre-mashing affair?

  14. 98

    The Descendants

After a huge win with Patriots Day last week, Nic was forced to step up his game by picking a film that was more likely to get Bryce onside. His pick is The Descendants, a film that is highly regarded by critics and did the rounds at Awards time. Will Bryce enjoy this George Clooney led family drama, or will this one not work out?

  15. 97

    Patriots Day

Bryce finishes his mission of giving Nic the third and final film in the Peter Berg trilogy, Patriots Day. Nic hated Lone Survivor and loved Deepwater Horizon, leaving Patriots Day as the decider. Will Nic be bewildered by this film that finds hope in the wake of tragedy, or will he be left unsatisfied?

  16. 96

    Diabolique (Les Diaboliques)

After failing to sweep Nic away with a horror last week, he jumps on the train with an arthouse horror of his own with the French cult classic Les Diaboliques. Will Bryce be swept away by this piece of French cinema, or is it too little too long ago for his taste!?

  17. 95

    Eden Lake

After being criticised for being too safe with his recent selections, Bryce gives Nic potentially the grittiest and nastiest film he's ever seen. Eden Lake is a cult classic, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Will Nic be on board with this "hoodie horror", or is it just a tinge too nasty for his taste?

  18. 94

    Eddington

No one can divide an audience like Ari Aster, which is a wonder why we haven't done one sooner! Nic's selection this week is 2025's Eddington, a film that divided a nation. While both men are split on Aster's films, will Bryce get on board with this political satire, or will this polarising film fall flat?

  19. 93

    Uncle Buck

Bryce attempts giving Nic a family comedy, a controversial decision according to him. For the first time on this podcast, we dive into a John Candy film as the boys dissect one of his underrated gems. Will Nic get on board with this charming 80s comedy?

  20. 92

    Fantastic Mr. Fox

After a terrible failure with the first Wes Anderson recommendation, Nic tries once more with Fantastic Mr. Fox. Can Bryce finally be swept away by the ever popular Anderson, or will this be another failed attempt?

  21. 91

    John Wick: Chapter 2

The first flick that Nic was ever given on this podcast was John Wick, and now almost 100 episodes on he finally gets a follow up. He enjoyed the first one, but will lightning strike twice for the ultimate anti-hero?

  22. 90

    Anora

After getting Nic back on track last week with a romantic drama, he decides to double down this week with none other than the winner of the best picture at The Academy Awards. Can Bryce get behind this award winning flick, or is it another swing and a miss?

  23. 89

    Materialists

After being deeply unimpressed with Nic’s last feature, Bryce decided to show Nic how it’s done when it comes to romantic dramas. This week, Bryce goes for a freshie with Celine Song’s sophomore effort, Materialists. Can Nic get on board, or is this one set up for disappointment.

  24. 88

    Parthenope

After having success with his last pick, Nic makes the ambitious choice of giving Bryce quite an artsy flick in Parthenope. Will he be bewildered by the beauty, or will this one fall short?

  25. 87

    Green Room

After a long awaited win last week, Bryce doubles down by giving Nic a risky film. Nic has a tendency to turn his nose at violent films, but can he come around to Green Room?

  26. 86

    Frank and Cindy (2007)

In a desperate bid to get back on track, Nic takes on a different strategy by giving Bryce a documentary! This week, we take a look at the indie cult classic Frank and Cindy and we’ll see if Bryce can get on board!

  27. 85

    Ransom

As Bryce looks to desperately break out of the losing slump he’s in, he must dig deep into his arsenal of beloved films to get Nic onside again. The formula is simple, a big budget, a big time director, the best cast the 90s has to offer and one of the highest grossing films of the 90s. Can Bryce get Nic excited about Ron Howard’s Ransom?

  28. 84

    Casablanca

Nic is sure he has an absolute sure thing on his hands by picking a film that is considered to be one of the greatest creations of all time, but does Bryce have other thoughts in mind?

  29. 83

    Warrior

Bryce pulls out the big guns in the midst of a losing streak, trying out another fighting film to try and get Nic on board. Will he see the light with the MMA family drama Warrior?

  30. 82

    The Square

Nic picks the incredibly divisive Swedish flick The Square as his answer to a return to form. This movie is long, it is artsy and it is incredibly odd. So will Bryce enjoy it, or is it more misery for the guy that likes arty films?

  31. 81

    The Faculty

After a slow burn last week, Bryce kicks things up a gear with Robert Rodriguez’s cult classic The Faculty. Nic has a strong opinion about this one, but will he love it or hate it?

  32. 80

    Chinatown

After Bryce threw his attempt at an artsy film at Nic last week, this week he returns serve with his attempt at a macho flick. The flick in question is Roman Polanski's Chinatown, which is a strange attempt at going macho. That being said, will Bryce be charmed by Jack Nicholson and co in this 70s classic?

  33. 79

    Life Is Beautiful

This week, the boys switch roles! Instead of Bryce picking his usual macho selection, he blesses Nic with an artsy flick that he hasn't seen. Looking back to his days learning Italian in high school, Bryce recalled the Robert Benigni film that left a lasting impression. Playing right into Nic's hand, will he enjoy this Oscar favourite from the 90s, or will the switcheroo backfire BADLY!?

  34. 78

    As Good As It Gets

After back-to-back disappointments, Nic pulls out the big guns with a 90s Oscar favourite in As Good As It Gets. The Academy loved this film, but will Bryce feel the same way?

  35. 77

    The Cable Guy

After being given a film that is revered last week, Bryce decided to give Nic a film that is equally as iconic. Will Nic get on board with the dark horse in Ben Stiller’s The Cable Guy, or will this be another flop in a long line of flops?

  36. 76

    Citizen Kane

After leaving Bryce deeply unsatisfied with his last selection, Nic pulls out the big guns with the Orson Welles’ classic Citizen Kane. Will Bryce be wowed by the film people often praise as the all time greatest, or is more disappointment in store?

  37. 75

    Catfight

After a pretty solid stance on Nic’s choice last week, Bryce fights Heche with Heche by giving him a black comedy satire with 2016’s Catfight. Will Nic get on board with this bizarre piece of cinema, or is it a little too out there and violent for the boy who thinks artsy films are sick?

  38. 74

    Six Days, Seven Nights

This week Nic takes us back to the 90s for Ivan Reitman’s Six Days, Seven Nights, a film that time forgot. Nic thinks it’s a bundle of fun, but will Bryce share the same sentiment?

  39. 73

    The Deer Hunter

Bryce tasks Nic with an all time classic in The Deer Hunter in a bid to get him on board with a war film, which isn’t typically to his liking. Can he get on board with this epic War drama starting the great Robert De Niro?

  40. 72

    Heretic

Nic picks his second 2024 release of the season with Heretic, a horror film starring Hugh Grant. Will this eerie chiller about religion be enough to get Bryce over the line?

  41. 71

    Strange Darling

After an unsuccessful venture with Nic’s favourite flick of 2024, Bryce gives Nic his favourite to see if he can get him over. The dark indie thriller, Strange Darling is the film in question and Nic has a LOT of thoughts.

  42. 70

    Conclave

Nic picks his favourite film of 2024, political thriller and Oscar favourite Conclave. Will Bryce find himself enthralled by this critically acclaimed Pope flick, or will it be a snoozer?

  43. 69

    Season Premiere: Friday

To kick off Season 4 of Can You Give Me A Flick, the boys do a deep dive into everything we've missed over the break and then Nic puts together his thoughts on Bryce's revenge flick. After giving him The Holiday as a Christmas podcast last season, Bryce strikes back with a 90s classic, the Ice Cube and Chris Tucker led Friday.

  44. 68

    Christmas Special: The Holiday

Bryce gifts Nic the present of choosing the 2024 Christmas film and he hits him with the all star cast of The Holiday. While this isn't a critically acclaimed masterpiece, will Bryce see the light in this Christmas flick!?

  45. 67

    Season Finale: Smile

Bryce hands Nic a rare horror with the ever so topical 2022 Smile. There's plenty to unpack, but will Bryce unpack a victory with this left of field suggestion?

  46. 66

    Just Go With It
