This episode tackles the tough topic of Teen Dating Violence and Domestic violence. We visit with 3 women that work for Canyon Creek Services here in Cedar City. They share resources that are available for anyone experience unhealthy and abusive relationships. We also discuss tips for parents to watch to help their teens set good boundaries, open communication and where to ask for help. Please join us as we discuss this important topic.

CVHS Nurturing the Nest Episode 14: Esports and Marching Band
Join us this week as we talk to 2 of Canyon View High School's State Championship teams. We meet with 3 young men that are involved in Esports. They talk about their experiences and skills they are learning by participating in this sport. We are also going to be talking to two members of the State Championship Marching Band. This year they beat out a long standing rival to bring home the gold. Don't miss out!

This week the CVHS team talks with Ginger Healy and therapist, author, presenter and director with the Attachment and Trauma Network. We will be discussing Emotional Regulation for kids, how to address anxiety and depression and the resources that are available to help. Ginger provides great tips for parents and educators on how to help kids of all ages with their emotions.

This week we will talk to 2 student athletes from Canyon View and talk to them about how they balance being a student and an athlete, what their goals are after high school and what they are looking forward for the rest of the school year. We will also discuss the NCAA and what students have to do to become an NCAA qualifier to play at the next level. Tune in for some great information.

Ep 3 Senior Meetings and Ada McKeehan
This week CVHS counselors talk about Senior Meetings. Senior Meetings are part of CVHS's College and Career Readiness program. Counselors meet with Senior and their parents to discuss next step plans after high school. We also will meet our new College Access Advisor, Ada McKeehan. She will be talking to us about her role with CVHS seniors.

Canyon View High School Counseling Department, KarriAnn Raddon, Kim Blackner, Ayumi Whatcott and LCSW, Chad Winters are starting a podcast called Nurtuing the Nest to help inform parents, student, faculty and the community on upcoming events, academic topics, mental health, college and career readiness, substance abuse, etc. Episode one introduces the listener to the podcast and Canyon View High School, there are interviews with the Principal Mr. Denny Heaton and Student Body President and Vice President Evelyn and Cole.
