Cardiovascular health and Health disparities in African American Communities

Hello everyone! My name is Saadiya, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my very first podcast! In this series, I’ll share my findings and research on a pressing health equity topic that I believe deserves more attention and conversation. Our health is one of our most valuable assets, but we live in a time when systemic inequalities often create barriers to achieving it. Together, we’ll explore how these deeply ingrained systems contribute to suffering and oppression, often overlooking the very communities most in need. In this episode, we’ll dive into how these issues are being addressed at the community level and discuss ways to reframe outdated narratives to build a better, more inclusive healthcare system. Lastly, we’ll examine contributing factors through the lens of the social ecological model, which we’ll unpack in greater detail. Stay tuned for a thoughtful and engaging discussion as we work toward a healthier, more equitable future for all!
