Casebook of the Yard

In September 1913, the most valuable pearl necklace in the world was found in a Highbury gutter by a man on his way to work. One pearl had already been given to a child as a marble. Ward had his men. The necklace had its ending. Neither went quite the way anyone expected.

In July 1913, a parcel arrived at 88 Hatton Garden with every seal intact. Inside, where sixty-one of the finest pearls in the world should have been, sat eleven lumps of sugar. Today, we get to meet the REAL Alfred Ward.

Oh, the good old Pinchin Street torso case. not quite publicized as much as I thought it should have. This is a good one and definitely a favorite of mine.
