Celebration Sunday

Sadly, Psalm 23 has become known as the “funeral” psalm, but ironically, it is really a psalm about life. Charles Spurgeon called it “the pearl of the Psalms.” So what is it about this small passage, only six short verses, that has made it one of the most recognizable psalms among Christians today, yet one we so easily overlook? Happy Thanksgiving! With the holiday season upon us, it can be easy to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle.  Let’s take some time to find some space and be intentional with each moment.  We find a simple formula in the Psalms for a connection with God this holiday season. Showing gratitude, prayer, and sharing His Good News.  It’s the perfect recipe for us to cook up this holiday season.  Give it a try!

Celebration Sunday!!!  We love taking these Sundays a few times a year to pause and celebrate what God is doing in our church.  I am reminded by scripture that, “It is for freedom’s sake that Christ has set us free.”  This is one of the great truths in Scripture and one that will have a huge impact on our daily life as we begin to understand and explore what God means when He says it.  Today let's be reminded from Romans and celebrate what God has done and celebrate the freedom we have in Him to live our lives controlled by His Spirit.

We are reminded constantly in Scripture to pause and be grateful for what God has done. Today is our celebration of what we have seen and been a part of the last few months. As we seek to Live out what the Gospel means in our lives, Reach those who are lost and hurting, and Teach the Good News of being a follower of Jesus, we take time to consider what that looks like in our current world. What a beautiful day for us to celebrate what God has done and is doing in our church body!
