The Light Enabled in Christ
Focusing on Ephesians 5:8-20, we explore how to live authentically in God's light. The central theme is the stark contrast between our former lives in darkness and our new reality in Christ. We're reminded that this transformation isn't just about avoiding sin but actively pursuing goodness, righteousness, and truth. This message discusses three key movements: leaving darkness, living in the light, and being filled with the Spirit.

For The Sake of The Addicted
The statistics are staggering. In British Columbia alone, 225,000 people are currently using unregulated drugs, with 1,700 deaths from overdoses in 2024. Unregulated drug toxicity is the leading cause of death in the province, surpassing homicide, suicide, and disease combined. These aren't just numbers; they represent real people – our neighbours, colleagues, and perhaps even family members. But there's hope. Our weakness is where His strength shines brightest. Our brokenness invites His healing. Our addiction opens the door to true dependence on Him. Series: We Are Missions Speaker: Whitney Bender Date: February 23rd, 2025

For The Sake of The Stranger
The parable of the Good Samaritan challenges us to redefine our understanding of who our neighbours are and how we should treat them. This powerful story from Luke 10 reminds us that true neighbourliness isn't about proximity or similarity but about compassion and action. Jesus calls us to move beyond our comfort zones and extend love to those who are different from us or in need. The Samaritan's response to the beaten man exemplifies the kind of radical hospitality God desires from us - one that's costly, inconvenient, and transformative. As we reflect on this parable, we're invited to consider: Are we becoming true neighbours? Are we allowing God's love to overflow from us to others, especially those society might consider 'outsiders'? This message urges us to encounter God's love afresh so that we can be conduits of that same love to a world in desperate need of healing and compassion. Series: We Are Missions Speaker: Bryce Lefebvre Date: February 16th, 2025

For The Sake of The City
In a world often marked by self-centeredness and indifference, we are called to a radical way of living that challenges our comfort and pushes us toward the heart of God. This call is not for a select few but all claiming to follow Jesus. Throughout the Bible, we see God's heart break for injustice, and His movement is always towards the lowly, the widow, the poor, and the orphan. In serving our city and loving our neighbours, we will always find more of Jesus, and He will always find more of us.

On Earth as It Is in Heaven (Intercession Prayer)
Have you ever wondered if your prayers really matter? Do they make a difference to God or in the grand scheme of the world? We're invited to join God in His great act of transformation through prayer. To pray "in Jesus' name" is to pray with this recovered authority. This type of transformative prayer is often called intercession, and it is the way we can truly see on earth as it is in heaven.

A Framework for Formation: Formation Pt 2
We're all being formed every day - by our habits, relationships, and the stories we believe. But to be formed in the way of Jesus takes intention.

Recieve & Believe God's Invitation
The contrast between Herod's troubled reaction and the Magi's joyful worship presents a stark choice: Will we, like Herod, resist Christ's lordship, or will we surrender in adoration? This message urges us to examine our hearts, remove competing 'thrones,' and allow Jesus to reign supreme in every aspect of our lives. It's a call to rediscover the wonder of the gospel and to share that 'star in the east' - the good news of God's invitation back into His family

Recieve & Believe God's Grace
Jesus is the embodiment of God's fullness, offering us an unending refreshment of grace. This grace isn't a replacement of the old covenant but a 'refreshed continuity' that reorders our approach to God. In this message, we're challenged to see Jesus as the better grace, one who makes faithful obedience possible through desire and delight rather than obligation. __ Christian Life Assembly - Abbotsford Campus Sermon title: Recieve & Believe God’s Grace Speaker: Isaac Downie Series: Advent 2024 - Recieve & Believe

Receive & Believe God's Glory
As we enter the Advent season, we're invited to rediscover the most gripping story in human history - the incarnation of God's glory in Jesus Christ. The Gospel of John tells us 'the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,' a profound statement that bridges the cosmic and the personal. No human story is beyond God's redemption. As we reflect on this 'dirty glory,' we're called to see how God's once untouchable presence now shares in our earthly existence, ready to meet us in our messiness and brokenness.
