    Steve's Walkabout & The Future

Yikes - two months?  Sorry for the lapse, enjoy the story!  On this episode we are goin to talk about Steve's deer hunt and why there is no meat in the freezer.  He's going to share all he learned and how he's going to tighten the screws for next year.  We are also going to share our 2023 plan - things are getting crazy!  (PS, sorry for the random audio glitches, our software was buggy for this recording for some reason)

    Not The Weekend We Expected...

On this episode we discuss our disappointments from our most recent visit to the property, but also some really cool and fun things that happened, plus more of how Steve is preparing for the big hunt just over a month away. H20000000000 ya baby!

The springs we mentioned in the last episode are STILL RUNNING!  Thank goodness too, because we had brought all the things we needed to dam it up and start collecting - talk about blind confidence!  Armed with 100+ ft of PVC pipe and fittings, buckets, two 55 gal barrels, plastic, and shovels.  We put about 14 hours into engineering a gravity feed collection giving us about 100 gal in 14 hours.  Next we will need to figure out the most efficient and cost effective way to get the water out of the ravine and up to the homesite about 700 feet away... If any of our listeners have any tips for off grid water moving please email us [email protected]   See the entire gallery of journey so far on our blog at www.citytogritty.com and on our Instagram @citytogrittypodcast Thank you for all your love and support!

    Grab the Shovel!

What runs, but never walks? Water!  Why are we so excited about water?  Find out on this episode of City to Gritty! We host our first guests at the Dirty Thirty Homestead - our parents!  We did a lot of unexpected digging, tried obsessively to beat the heat, and even got to indulge in some live music at the neighbor's house!
