Coffin Fodder Ep. 62: Drag Me To Hell

As we return from our summer break, we're back on our Sam Raimi kick with the fun ass Romani curse movie, Drag Me To Hell. How much punishment can poor Alison Lohman go through in this movie, and how much nasty stuff can go either on her face or in her mouth? This one's not for the squeamish. So come on in and sit down with a glass of embalming fluid for a very silly time.

  2. 58

Coffin Fodder Ep. 61: Army of Darkness

On what is undoubtedly our silliest and stupidest episode thus far, we're talking the third Evil Dead movie, Army of Darkness. It's a neck-and-neckbone competition between skeleton puns, dumbass reaction shots, and ridiculous cartoon logic as we chat about probably the dumbest and most fun movie in Sam Raimi's catalog. Also, please note that we're taking a couple of weeks off to enjoy the summer breeze after this, but rest assured that we'll be back soon for more spooks and scares.

  3. 57

Coffin Fodder Ep. 60: Gateway Horror

On our fourth conversational episode, we journey back in time to our formative years to discuss what made us horror fans to begin with. From genre fare like The X-Files and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to our first true horror movies like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, these are the wee seedlings from whence our happy horror show began.

  4. 56

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 59: Obsession

As we enter the dog days of summer, our wee trio sits down to discuss the new hotness of Curry Barker's surprise horror hit, Obsession. Has there been any performance this year that set the world on fire the way Inde Navarette did here? Is Bear the villain of his own horror movie? And, finally, settle in for one of the best shock kills in years as we dissect this gnarly new vision of horror.

  5. 55

Coffin Fodder Ep. 58: Evil Dead II

On this week's groovy episode of our lil show, we strap in with an arm-mounted chainsaw and an S-Mart boomstick to explore one of the all-time great horror comedies, Evil Dead II. Is there any version of this movie that works without Bruce Campbell's performance? This is one of the most iconic and beloved movies in the entire horror canon, and we hope you'll tune in for as many tree-related puns as we can possibly muster.

  6. 54

Coffin Fodder Ep. 57: 28 Weeks Later

The zombie apocalypse continues in our latest episode as we chat about the surprisingly excellent sequel, 28 Weeks Later. Surely this movie has one of the best openings of any horror movie ever, right? Sweetening the pot even more are the film's many excellent actors, including Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Idris Elba, Harold Perrineau, and Imogen Poots. This is a follow-up to die for, so we hope you'll tune in with us.

  7. 53

Coffin Fodder Ep. 56: 28 Days Later

We've got a real banner episode of the pod for you this week as we chat at length about Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's knockout zombie movie reinvention, 28 Days Later. When it comes to post-apocalyptic movies, this one is about as bleak as it gets. All the same, what it lacks in happiness, it more than makes up for in originality and brutality. This movie is an absolute all-timer, so we hope you'll join us for some fast zombie shenanigans.

  8. 52

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 55: Eraserhead

We're keeping it weird with this week's episode of Coffin Fodder as we chat about David Lynch's debut arthouse flick, Eraserhead. Is there anything scarier than growing up and realizing that your days of childlike wonder and joy are behind you? Has any movie come closer to representing the terror of parenthood and domestic life? All of this and more as we discuss our first (but certainly not last) Lynchian chiller.

  9. 51

Coffin Fodder Ep. 54: Tetsuo The Iron Man

This week on the pod, we're getting really weird with it as we sit down to discuss Shinya Tsukamoto's bonkers indie body horror movie, Tetsuo: The Iron Man. One man's journey to battle against the eerie forces that are slowly turning him into a machine. Yes, it's as crazy as it sounds, and it has an amazing industrial metal soundtrack to go along with the insanity. Join us for a truly one-of-a-kind movie.

  10. 50

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 53: Nosferatu

As we continue our journey around the sun, we return this week to discuss Robert Eggers' spooky gothic horror masterpiece, Nosferatu. Which of the three versions is the best, what distinguishes the latest version, and how hard the cast goes in their performances are all up for discussion. Join us as we head to Transylvania to Drac it up once again.

  11. 49

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 52: Poltergeist

Can you believe it, friends? It's officially been 1 year since we started this spooky little show. With that fact in mind, we've got another banner classic from the horror catalogue with Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper's haunted house romp, Poltergeist. Have we ever seen any other movies where the ghosties can warp reality? Is this one of the most annoying on-screen families we've ever met? And just how many bodies are gonna come busting out of shit wood when this movie really pops off at the end? Tune in to find out.

  12. 48

Coffin Fodder Ep 51: A Nightmare on Elm Street

On this week's dreamy spinetingler, we're hitting up another gold-star classic with Wes Craven's seminal slasher, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Yes, this is indeed the first appearance of honorary horror staple Robert Englund as the increasingly clownish killer, Sir Frederick Krueger. However, despite the occasional bouts of silliness, Freddy is still pretty terrifying in his first go. Stay tuned for two of the all-time great inventive 80s kills and the first appearance of Johnny Depp on the silver screen.

  13. 47

Coffin Fodder Ep. 50: Movies That Feel Like Horror

On our third business casual episode, we sit down to chat about the thin line between horror and non-horror as we discuss movies that still feel like they're in the horror genre, even though they're not technically. Requiem For A Dream, The Abyss, Lords of Chaos, There Will Be Blood, and many more make appearances.

  14. 46

Coffin Fodder Ep. 49: Shaun of the Dead

We have a very British episode for you this week as we throw back a few cheeky pints at The Winchester and talk Edgar Wright's blood splattered comedy-horror, Shaun of the Dead. This is certainly our lewdest episode yet, but I imagine Simon Pegg and Nick Frost would consider that a badge of honor anyway.

  15. 45

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 48: Aliens

We return to the interstellar spaces one more time for this week's episode, Aliens. How does James Cameron manage to make the most incredible, ass-kicking sequels in sci-fi horror history? And why do they all have Michael Biehn? Get ready to be ripped in half and still save the girl as we jump into this gnarly action horror film.

  16. 44

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 47: Alien

We’ve got another all-timer for you this week on Coffin Fodder as we have a wee chat about Ridley Scott’s science fiction horror film Alien. This has to be the first use of the cat jump scare in a horror movie, right? And damned if the design of the Xenomorph doesn’t totally rule. Just pay no attention to Mr. Milk Blood over there, though. He promises that he’s not up to anything.

  17. 43

Coffin Fodder Ep. 46: The Guest

This week on Coffin Fodder, the good time action horror vibes continue with Adam Wingard's absolute blast of his acclaimed sleeper hit, The Guest. Watch as Dan Stevens just aura farms for an entire movie. Marvel as Maika Monroe tries desperately not to get horny for him. And finally, crank the volume all the way up for that gnarly ass soundtrack. This episode is 100% "For David."

  18. 42

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 45: Blade

This week, we're getting weird and wild with the late '90s action horror time capsule, Blade. This was before The Matrix, before X-Men, and loooooooong before the MCU started. It's got a lot of cheese, but damn it if this isn't a great time at the movies. Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, and Donal Logue are having a blast. Plus, we've got Kris Kristofferson as Whistler. Fun ass movie, and a fun ass episode to boot.

  19. 41

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 44: Apostle

This week on our dangerously religious show, we go to a weird little island of cultists for some existential dread and relentless body horror with Gareth Evans' 2018 gothic folk horror, Apostle.

  20. 40

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 43: Zodiac

This week on Coffin Fodder, we're going back to the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days as we slip down the rabbit hole to talk about David Fincher's true crime epic, Zodiac. Was Arthur Leigh Allen really the Zodiac Killer? And how to lose your life to a killer without dying. We play a little fast and loose this week to talk about this incredibly dense horror thriller.

  21. 39

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 42: C.H.U.D.

If you've been out there in the wild hearing the term chud and wondering where it came from, you're in luck. This cheesy creature feature from the mid-80s is the source. It's about sewer mutants that eat people, but despite its low budget tomfoolery, it has a lot more to say than you might expect. Tune in and get chudded with us for this very silly episode of the show.

  22. 38

Coffin Fodder Ep. 41: Knock at the Cabin

Another week, another spook. This week on the show, we wonder what's at the heart of M. Night Shyamalan's 2023 faith-based thriller, Knock at the Cabin. Should they have kept the title and ending from the book this is based on? And why is a movie about religious terror so toothless in its approach to violence? We talk about the ups and downs of a flawed but generally good movie.

  23. 37

Coffin Fodder Ep. 40: Horror in Gaming

On this week's episode of Coffin Fodder, we're doing our next casual topic as we do a deep dive into the relationship between horror in both video games and film. We're talking about which adaptations work and which ones fall flat, upcoming games and movies that have us excited, and what horror looks like today.

  24. 36

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 39: Freaks

This week on the program, we sit down to discuss Tod Browning's revolutionary 1932 curio, Freaks. Is this the first time in cinematic history where our protagonists are people with disabilities? Nearly 100 years later, all three of our hosts agree that this is a timeless film. Listen in to see why.

  25. 35

Coffin Fodder Ep. 38: From Dusk Till Dawn

On this week's episode of our fine horror podcast, we chat about one of the best horror films of the '90s, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn. It's an absolutely bananas time as bank robbers and their hostages are forced to fight vampires in Mexico. You'd better believe this episode is gonna get real silly, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

  26. 34

Coffin Fodder Ep. 37: The Devil's Rejects

As we return from the holidays, our merry little crew is joined by Daniel Worby to help us chat up a hellbilly storm with Rob Zombie's incredible The Devil's Rejects. Why on earth did they make 3 From Hell after this? Is The Devil's Rejects superior to House of a Thousand Corpses? We cover all of this and more.

  27. 33

Coffin Fodder Ep. 36: Funny Games

This week on Coffin Fodder things remain icy cold and unpleasant as we chat about Michael Haneke's satirical horror film experiment, Funny Games. Does it earn its message and if so does that make it a successful film? We discuss all of that and more in our latest episode.

  28. 32

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 35: Martyrs

On this week's grisly episode of our lovely little program, we jump headfirst into the world of French Extreme horror movies with Pascal Laugier's brutal treatise on faith and torture, Martyrs. This one is not for the faint of heart.

  29. 31

Coffin Fodder Ep. 34: What We Do In the Shadows

This week on our happy little horror show, we're lightening the mood a smidge with the spooky comedy What We Do In the Shadows. If a goofy version of Interview With the Vampire sounds good to you, listen in. It's a silly time with just enough buckets of blood to count as a scary movie, and we hope you love it as much as we did.

  30. 30

Coffin Fodder Ep. 33: 30 Days of Night

As the throes of winter begin to take hold, our little crew hunkers down to discuss the intense and oppressive darkness of 30 Days of Night. Can Josh Hartnett save his doomed marriage to Melissa George? And just which character is going into that nasty grinder? For answers to these questions and more, join us and listen in.

  31. 29

Coffin Fodder Ep. 32: The Blob

This week on the show, we're heading to small-town America for the 1988 remake of The Blob with our second-ever guest host, Travis Mushanski. Settle in for some incredible practical effects and a whole ton of body horror in this one.

  32. 28

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 31: Ravenous

We've got an absolute all-timer for you this week on Coffin Fodder as we dive meat-first into one of the most underrated and underseen horror films of all time. It's Antonia Byrd's magnificent 1999 cannibal survival/historical fiction movie, Ravenous, starring Guy Pierce and Robert Carlyle.

  33. 27

Coffin Fodder Ep. 30: What Counts As Horror?

This week on Coffin Fodder, we take you beyond the velvet rope to hear the behind-the-scenes discussion of what counts as horror for our show. It's a little inside baseball, but it's a conversation we have with each other and ourselves pretty regularly.

  34. 26

Coffin Fodder Ep. 29: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

We've got another banner episode for you this week as our hosts head to the sweat-drenched wilds of rural Texas for the unforgettable slasher progenitor, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

  35. 25

Coffin Fodder Ep. 28: It Comes at Night

This week, as spooky season continues, we sit down to have a really harrowing time with the paranoid post-apocalyptic thriller, It Comes at Night, starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, and Riley Keough.

  36. 24

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 27: Hellraiser

This October week on Coffin Fodder, we're joined by our very first guest, Jewel Louise, to talk Clive Barker's 1987 body horror staple, Hellraiser.

  37. 23

Coffin Fodder Ep. 26: Doctor Sleep

On this week's spookadelic episode of Coffin Fodder, we wrap up our Overlook Spectacular with Mike Flanagan's knockout sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep.

  38. 22

Coffin Fodder Ep. 25: The Shining

As we celebrate our 25th episode, the boys sit down to discuss Stanley Kubrick's absolutely legendary horror film, The Shining. Things get heady as we decipher the never-ending puzzles behind the elusive Stephen King adaptation and get into what makes it so timeless and terrifying nearly five decades later. Don't worry, you've always been here.

  39. 21

Coffin Fodder Ep. 24: The Toxic Avenger

On this week's especially raunchy episode of Coffin Fodder, we chat for a spell about the 2023 remake of The Toxic Avenger starring Peter Dinklage.

  40. 20

Coffin Fodder Ep. 23: Event Horizon

On this week's intergalactic spook fest, we sit down to mull over a movie that has aged better than we ever could have imagined. It's also one of only two good movies by Paul W.S. Anderson, the 1997 science fiction horror film Event Horizon.

  41. 19

Coffin Fodder Ep. 22: Black Death

As the hands of autumn continue to tighten their grip, the boys of the fine ship Coffin Fodder sit down with an especially dour and dark movie, the 2010 medieval plague thriller, Black Death, starring Game of Thrones alums Sean Bean and Carice Van Houten.

  42. 18

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 21: Dethgasm

Things get about as metal as they can on this week's teen angst-riddled episode of Coffin Fodder as we discuss the over-the-top ridiculousness of the 2015 apocalyptic horror comedy, Dethgasm.

  43. 17

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 20: Mayhem

As the summer season begins to dwindle off, the gents tune in to watch Samara Weaving and Steven Yeun kick the crap out of some capitalist pigs in the 2017 action horror comedy, Mayhem.

  44. 16

    Coffin Fodder Ep. 19 Weapons

On this week's episode of Coffin Fodder, we're delving into Zach Cregger's new horror mystery thriller, Weapons. Where the heck did those kids go? And what's up with Aunt Gladys' whole general vibe? We answer these questions and more as we delve into this weird and wild experience.

  45. 15

Coffin Fodder Ep. 18: Bad Milo!

Hey friends, got a busy podcast queue? Well, we've got good news as we present the shortest episode of Coffin Fodder yet, and it's centered around the borderline unwatchable antics of a literal butt monster in the hugely shitty horror "comedy" Bad Milo!

  46. 14

Coffin Fodder Ep. 17: The Endless

  48. 12

Coffin Fodder Ep. 15: Dead Alive

On the latest episode of Coffin Fodder, we jet off to the faraway reaches of zombie-plagued New Zealand to talk about Peter Jackson's totally unhinged horror comedy, Dead Alive.

  49. 11

  50. 10
