Conversations That Inspire Action
by Kimle Nailer
This show encourages true introspection of our lives for soul awakening, so we can impact our communities with transformation, leadership and new direction. Fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, I join in that movement of teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for the elevation of our creative consciousness into the greatness that lies in the Human Spirit. Our ancestors from Africa knew the power of connection to the Divine, and honoring the human-ness in each other. I invite you to remember the greatness of our people, and let's have conversations that inspires us all to take action to "Heal what's hurting our Black Community."

Breaking the Chains.....Our Lives, Our Pain Re-Imagined
The "I have a dream speech by Martin L.King debuted in Detroit over fifty years ago on June 23, 1963 and changed the course of this nation, and re-imagined what was possible. Born that same year on July 23rd, I recently celebrated my 52nd Birthday, and realize that my life has been engulfed inside the Civil Rights, and parallels closely with the transformation I endured causing me to re-imagine the little black girl born in 1963 also, Today we are sharing about the healing that must occur between these two cultures that caused such strong divisional lines of hatred, distrust, and pain merely based on skin tone. Although our nation has become much more diverse and Civil Rights are being fought for so many more, we still have a core pain in cities across the nation that still reek with the racial tension of the past. Today, let's look at racial reconciliation and find ways to re-imagine ourselves, our cities and our nation. What's possible for us today should we have dialogue about the pain we have both experienced? Our featured guest, poet and author Alicea Davis has a special message for healing our communities and racial reconciliation. Join me as she shares what she has re-imagined for us here in Detroit, and the work she's doing to close the gap in our consciousness so we see ourselves anew - as citizens of the same family. May we all remember our Divine heritage, our spiritual birthrights, and co-creative powers for creating a miraculous world. Let's re-imagine our self-image, re-create our belief in everyone's worthiness, and choose to live in excellent communities that flourish abundantly with knowledge, intelligence and resources to be self-sustaining.

The more we release those old beliefs, and embrace new opportunities, the more we open new possibilities for ourselves. The same is true for us as a community. We can't hold onto what happened in the past, but focus on our present possibilities that we can create today. We are powerful, and together we rise!

Today, we are summarizing the 2015 PowerNetworking Conference hosted by Dr. George C.Fraser, author of Success Runs in Our Race. This event is to empower African-American Professionals to Learn, Earn and Return to their communities, empowering Blacks economically, psychologically, culturally and physically. Being predominantly African American, the City of Detroit is an iconic city to help inspire economic empowerment, political empowerment, and social empowerment by unifying our messages of self-worth so we confidently work together and create viable communities creating opportunities for our black children. Our children must begin to see from us in their daily lives the vision that Dr. King left us with so they remain filled with hope, and pursue to excel accordingly. It's time to re-evaluate ourselves, our community, and cease losing our power, by strategically applying economic and marketing principles so we are stronger as a Community economically. We are powerful, and together we rise!

We are still the majority of residents in this city, so we have to cease believing the negativity in the media that is designed as self-hatred towards ourselves. Being the majority in this city, we must leverage our numbers to translate into economic empowerment, political empowerment, and social empowerment by unifying our messages of self-worth so we confidently work together and create viable communities creating opportunities for everyone. It's time to re-evaluate ourselves, our community, and cease losing our power, by integrating the Kwanzaa principles so we are stronger as a Community and Racial group economically. I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee! Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality. So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? Life has its challenges, so today we are discussing 3 tools that can help us all keep moving forward. These tools have supported me during my re-birth following my mother's transition, and can help us all keep growing into our life's purpose in the face of opposition. First, re-write your goals and read them daily to remind yourself of what your life is destined to become. Build a supportive network of individuals who can help you stay focused and achieve your goals. And lastly, engage and surrender to your feelings, knowing that they can't be suppressed, but surpassed so they help fuel your growth instead of locking energy in your body creating physical health issues. These tools have kept me moving forward, step by step as more healing and growth continues in my life. We are powerful, and together we rise!

With 75-82% of the city being Black Americans, we can't stand by and watch, if we want our children to believe in the freedom our forefathers fought for us to have and continue the fight. Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we Celebrate the Year of Jubilee and join in that movement of teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for elevation of our consciousness into the greatness that lies in the Human Spirit. This past Sunday was Mother's Day, and my first one without my Queen Mother, Diva Dee as she was often lovingly called. It was definitely a rough patch to endure, as her memories brought both joy and pain. I don't think we are ever prepared for losing loved one, but one thing is for sure - we have to find new beginnings after the storm. I focused on three things to manage my first Mother's Day without her, because last year, my sisters and I all surprised her with a weekend getaway. I focused on: 1) How could I bring happiness to someone else; 2) Support myself emotionally; and 3) Serve others to make a difference? Tune in to today's show to learn how focusing our intentions can help navigate us through the storms of life and create opportunities to find joy and peace through service to others. It's important to find some activity that can uplift your emotions into ones that nourish your soul. For me, it was taking my focus off me through service, which in turn filled my heart with lighter emotions to weather the storm. We are powerful, and together we rise!
