Michael Krahn is the Lead Pastor of Community Bible Church, Ilderton. Having experienced many of the challenges that come with being a pastor, he is passionate about coming alongside other pastors through his ministry, the Shepherd's Refuge. Having faced challenges such as childhood abuse, chronic illness, and life-altering medical struggles, Alysia has personally experienced the power of God’s redemptive love and healing. This transformation inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Heritage Seminary, a Graduate Certificate in Biblical Care and Counselling, and certification through the ABC. In this episode, we hear from Jeemin Moon, Director of Biblical Care & Counselling Studies at Heritage College & Seminary in Cambridge, Ontario. Jeemin shares his personal story of how the Lord called him to ministry, and his discovery of biblical counselling as a first-year MDiv student at SBTS. Jeemin also gives us a brief snapshot of his upcoming workshop at our 2026 Conference: Mental Health and the Church.

Drawing on Paul's teaching in 2 Corinthians 5, David shares how the truth of our identity in Christ is central to biblical counselling ministry.

During one of our plenary sessions, pastor Paul Tautges walked us through a talk called "Our Identity in the Process of Sanctification." Paul encourages Christians with the wonderful truth that our identity is firmly in Christ - an identity that is received and not achieved. When we rest in the finished work of Christ and our identity as "Saints", we can find hope through seasons of sin and suffering as we are being sanctified.
