Gday Beautiful souls,  Welcome to the  Cooee podcast. My name is Sasha, and Im a 7th Generation Aussie and female custodian of  the land. After experiencing a series of traumatic events occur in quick succession in 2018,  I was catapulted me into a dark night of the soul, and a  journey of remembering, a spiritual awakening that shifted my life trajectory in a way I never could have fathomed.  Having had to walk the path alone I felt inspired to  guide and mentor other  Rural Australian women  who may be experiencing their own journey of healing and self discovery,  while in isolation whether as a byproduct of  geography or something more sinister such as relational abuse and the social isolation that can happen within that dynamic. My aim is  connect  women with each other and themselves and create a community that shares sage advice, and guidance and inspiration for their own heroine's journey and  so never shall another rural

EP 8 WAKING UP IN THE BUSH isolation and how it impacts our journey back to the self

Waking Up in the Bush — When Awakening Finds You in the Middle of NowhereIn this raw and reflective episode, we explore what it really feels like to go through an inner awakening while living rurally — far from spiritual communities, therapy offices, or groups of like-minded souls. We talk about the loneliness, the confusion, the stigma, and the dark night of the soul that comes when your inner world begins to shift but the world around you stays the same. And how, when there is no one to guide you, the land steps in — holding you, teaching you, and becoming the mother you lean into when everything else feels like it’s falling apart. This is a conversation about:  The isolation of awakening outside spiritual spaces  The inner battle between the old identity and the emerging self  Learning to trust intuition — inner-tuition  How nature becomes the guide when no one else understands Why walking this path alone is not a punishment, but a rite of passage Permission to expand, even when others think you’re “losing it”If you’ve ever felt like you’re waking up in the middle of nowhere — physically, emotionally, or spiritually — this episode is a reminder that you’re not alone, and you’re not broken. You’re becoming.Support the show

Ep. 7 Becoming HER - ReWriting your Heroine Story

What if the hardest chapters of your life weren’t meant to break you, but to reveal the heroine within you?In this episode, I share a raw and real reflection on what it means to rewrite your story — not by denying what happened, but by reclaiming the meaning you give it. We talk about the difference between being victimised and living as a victim, and how shifting your perspective can transform your life from the inside out.Drawing on myth, Christ-consciousness, and my own healing journey, I explore how practices like rewriting your story on paper, sending love to your past antagonists, and simple daily rituals of release can move you out of victimhood and into your heroine energy. This is for every woman who has ever felt silenced, stuck, or small — and is ready to become the author of her own legacy. In this episode, you’ll hear:Why reframing your story is an act of liberationHow ancient wisdom and Christ teachings mirror our own journeysA simple practice to release old hurts through compassion and forgivenessWhy sending love — even when it’s hard — can keep your heart clearAn invitation to step fully into your heroine energy✨ You are not broken. LEGACY - MORE THAN THE LAND

This episode explores the concept of legacy, urging a shift in perspective from material inheritance to a leading future generations  by living a life of authenticity and fulfillment. Here are the key themes:Redefining Legacy: Traditionally, succession planning in rural Australia focuses on passing down land and assets. The author initially sought to leave cattle stations for their children but later realized that material inheritance may not align with their true needs or desires. The Burden of Inherited Land: Many farmers face immense pressure to maintain family farms, leading to financial struggles, stress, high suicide rates, and strained relationships. .Parenting and Influence: The greatest legacy isn’t wealth or land, but children themselves. Parents serve as role models, and children learn by observing actions rather than listening to instructions. The importance of raising children with authenticity and presence is emphasized.Personal Growth and Reflection: A profound realization occurred during a personal development workshop, where participants were asked to reflect on life regrets. The most resonant regret was “not living a life true to oneself”, reinforcing the importance of designing a life aligned with personal values.Lessons from Family: The author reflects on their hardworking father, whose later years were filled with joy from pursuing personal passions. His legacy wasn’t just his work ethic but his ability to embrace happiness in his own way.Living Authentically: The document encourages living a life of one’s own design instead of following societal or familial expectations. Legacy isn’t about land or possessions—it’s about living truthfully and inspiring future generations to do the same. The final message is that you are the legacy—not the things you own or leave behind, but the way you live, love, and inspire others. ng for?Support the show

This episode explores the meaning of being a strong woman in the context of rural life.
