This poem was inspired by a friend who was hard to tie down but it takes off in another direction into the depths of my imagination. Shall he return from the forest ready to be betrothed to his beloved? Why yes because he’s carrying a torch of love tied to his heart strings. She is the only one who can bring him peace and take him away from the madness of this world.

Red Sun is a rock and blues ballad. Sung in a sultry tone, it evokes the warm feeling of when you are with someone you love at sunset. This was the first take and I made up the lyrics and melody on the fly. Allan Barton was playing this song from his head for weeks, but I thought of it as an instrumental version.

When the Summer is Over track with Keys. I wrote this song mainly because I don’t like transitioning out of summer. It is my favorite season of the year and I am always so sad when it ends. I also am looking back to my first boyfriend who was quite romantic. Back to simpler times and my first true love.
