Those days have taken a bit of a turn if you have a free LinkedIn account. It's becoming trickier to add that personal touch now, thanks to some new restrictions. Chareen Goodman [00:02:23]: You shoot out an invite and sit there wondering why the world seems silent on the other end. Friends, I feel your pain. I discovered this when I sent out a batch of invites in my typical outreach fashion, each one meticulously crafted, only to discover they were all sent without my personalized notes. Talk about a digital face palm moment. Right? But here's the silver lining. Change isn't always a setback. It can be a setup for something even grander. The key, adaptation and a sprinkle of innovation. We're getting down with the real deal, the stories, the struggles, and that tug of war with patience as we all wait for those connection requests to transform into meaningful engagements. Let me lay it out there. So as of January 2024, those friendly folks at LinkedIn put a cap on how many personalized connection request notes we can send. Coaches and consultants with free accounts are now looking at a tight squeeze of 5 to 15 notes a month. Why, you ask? The goal seems noble enough. Chareen Goodman [00:04:51]: LinkedIn is on a mission to foster more thoughtful outreach. Dial down on the spam and automation frenzy, and let's not forget, give a nudge towards their premium monthly subscriptions. And with a community now over a billion strong, it's a bustling digital world out there. I heard from Mia, a leadership coach in sunny California who shared, "I planned to launch my big coaching program this spring, reaching out to new connections on LinkedIn, then this curveball. It felt like running into a digital wall at full speed." Ouch! And then there's Michael from Toronto, a consultant in the Green Tech space, and he mentioned, "Talk about a switcheroo. What makes a post stand out as a thought leadership piece of content? First, it starts with creating valuable content. Your audience is looking for insights that can help them solve problems or improve their lives or or businesses. It's not about promoting your services outright, although you must market and promote your services. Otherwise, how will people become aware of them? But your thought leadership post is more about providing solutions that resonate with your audience's needs and challenges. Let's take a quick peek into the historical context of thought leadership on LinkedIn. In the early days, it was enough to have a polished profile and a large list of connections. But as the platform evolved, so did the expectations of its members. Today, people on LinkedIn are looking for more than just credentials. Chareen Goodman [00:06:32]: They're seeking genuine insight and expertise from coaches and consultants like you. Did you know that one of the most effective ways to deliver this is through infographics? Yep. You see, an infographic is a visual representation of data or information that can capture, engage, and inform your audience succinctly and creatively. Infographics are not only visually appealing, but they also offer a unique way of communicating complex and unique data or concepts, making them easier for your audience to understand and digest. In addition to infographics, creating original content by sharing insights, experiences, and industry trends also helps establish thought leadership. This is the most common practice on LinkedIn and can be achieved simply through regular and consistent posting. I recall a client of mine who struggled to stand out within her niche of corporate leadership consulting. On LinkedIn, she was posting about her services, but rarely received any interaction or leads. After working together 1 on 1, we shifted her LinkedIn strategy to posting more thought leadership content. She began sharing insights from her years of experience in the corporate world, like how to navigate office politics or implement successful change management strategies. These posts were loaded with actionable tips, making them incredibly valuable to her audience of corporate professionals. For your own thought leadership posts, think about the unique knowledge you've gained through your experience over the years. Chareen Goodman [00:11:54]: Share insights that are not commonly known or or discussed but are extremely relevant to your targeted audience. And to add even more spice and to bring your own LinkedIn posts to life, consider sharing stories from your personal or professional journey. Here's another example of how you can share an inspiring success story like mine. So once I was coaching a business consultant, and he was initially skeptical about the effectiveness of LinkedIn. Most of his clients came through word-of-mouth, which is not uncommon for most consultants. Chareen Goodman [00:12:44]: And he saw LinkedIn as just another social media distraction, which it can be if you don't have a LinkedIn strategy. Anyway, after a few coaching sessions, he decided to give it a try and started sharing his business insights and experiences in a storytelling kind of way. One of his posts caught the attention of a CEO of a fast growing startup, who then reached out to him through a DM. They set up a consultation, and the rest is history. Now the moral of this story is that people are always watching you on social media, and you never know who might be reading your posts. So position yourself with your thought leadership content by regularly sharing valuable content and stories, you increase the chances of catching the eye of your ideal future clients. Remember this, successful LinkedIn stories have a few things in common. They're authentic and and they engage your audience on a human level. Being open about your experiences, including successes and failures, can help build trust with your audience. As you can imagine, every successful journey begins with a map, even in the entrepreneurial world of coaching and consulting. This is your visionary road map, and it's not just any old map. It's a map that represents the ultimate destination of the big picture goals you've set to achieve this quarter in your business. Your map holds the details of the steps you'll take to get there. In other words, when it comes to achieving any goal or arriving at your destination, you must first know where you are heading. Chareen Goodman [00:04:50]: To craft this visionary road map, start by defining your destination. What does success look like for you at the end of this quarter? Be as specific as possible. Maybe it's increasing your client acquisition by 20% or or launching a new suite of digital products. So where are you heading? What is your destination? Once you've defined your destination, it's time to chart your course. Start by breaking down your major objective into smaller, more achievable steps. For instance, if your goal is to acquire 20 new clients in the next 90 days, then break the work down into a weekly or daily target. This will make your journey manageable and tangible. Next, mark your milestones. Chareen Goodman [00:05:39]: In my program, Milestone Magic™, the objective is for my clients to to never miss their milestone. Milestones are the magical markers along your path that signal that you are on target for hitting your goal. And when you hit them, don't forget to celebrate them. These small victories are encouraging signs that you're moving in the right direction. Your vision roadmap is more than a route planner. It is a compass guiding you towards your goal. In the hustle and bustle of our work, it can sometimes be challenging to know where to focus our energies. In our bustling lives as coaches and consultants, would you agree that it can be challenging to know where to focus your energies? Prioritization is the art of recognizing what needs your immediate attention versus what can wait. Chareen Goodman [00:07:16]: One of the best ways to prioritize your work is to start by identifying your big rocks. You know, those projects that will have a significant impact and lead you to achieving your quarterly goals. No successful prioritization strategy is complete without the use of planning tools, whether you're more comfortable with digital apps like Asana or Trello, or you are more like me and prefer the more traditional method of using a simple Moleskin planner or diary. Use these tools religiously to keep track of your priorities. This approach will help to ensure your actions align nutshell, the key to propelling yourself into the next quarter with momentum lies in mastering the skill of prioritization. So identify your big rocks, break down your tasks, and use your planning tools to their fullest. This is your path to maximizing your momentum and achieving a productive and successful quarter. Now let's gear up for our 3rd pillar, mastering time management techniques. Chareen Goodman [00:08:36]: In the next segment, we will discuss how to make each moment count, how to track time spent on activities, implementing time blocking for deep work and breaks, and how to arrange tasks according to energy level. We're talking about productivity hacks that you can use to increase results in this quarter. In this segment, we're going to talk about our most valuable resource, which is time. Quick question. How many of you grapple with this common paradox of finding yourself short of time? Mastering your time or as I like to express it, mastering your integrity to time isn't about cramming in more coaching sessions or consulting projects, nor is it about squeezing more busy work into your day. The real game changer lies in making each minute count by keeping your integrity to doing what you say you're going to do when you say you're going to do it, hence, time integrity. Chareen Goodman [00:09:55]: Consider this scenario. You're a coach juggling back to back coaching sessions, email communication, content creation, and marketing your business, yet your progress doesn't seem proportionate to the effort you're investing. The reason, it's likely due to inaccuracies in the perceived duration of your tasks versus the actual time it takes you to complete the tasks. It's high time you embrace the strategy of auditing your time to better estimate how long it takes you to do certain tasks. Check into tools like Toggl or Rescue Time or even a basic spreadsheet to track the time it takes for you to complete each task. You'll soon ferret out any misconceptions about where your time is going and can start adjusting your schedule accordingly. Next, let's delve into time blocking, another effective time integrity strategy. The essence of this strategy lies in setting aside a dedicated block of uninterrupted time for deep committed work where focus is paramount. Chareen Goodman [00:11:09]: Picture a consultant working on a critical client project, which requires concentration and focus. Dedicating a block of time, say, every morning from 9 to 11 for deep work on the project can bring about extraordinary productivity and momentum. During these blocks of time, which should be planned and blocked on your calendar, close out all possible distractions by switching off your phone, shutting down your relevant browser tabs, and making it clear to your team, family, and friends that you're not available except for absolute emergencies. Finally, the last strategy is task rearrangement according to energy levels. We all have our peak and valley times during the day. Tackling high energy required tasks during peak times can lead to improved effectiveness. For instance, if you're a morning person, plan your most challenging client calls or brainstorming sessions in the first half of the day rather than trying to force productivity when you're tired and your momentum is low in the late afternoon. By keeping your integrity to time, putting smart time management strategies in place and being consistent with them, not only will your efficiency levels soar, but there's also an inherent satisfaction you'll gain by knowing each minute is propelling you closer to achieving your goals. Chareen Goodman [00:12:45]: That's a wrap on our 3rd pillar. Hopefully, you now have a new perspective on how you can optimize your most valuable resource called time By conducting a self audit, utilizing time blocking and arranging tasks according to your energy levels, you can dramatically improve your efficiency and your effectiveness. We'll discuss the importance of setting boundaries, incorporating physical activity into your routine, and recognizing when enough work has been done for the day. After all, maintaining momentum isn't just about hard work, it's about smart work, which includes taking care of oneself. So let's explore the value of self care in the next segment. Have you ever noticed in the whirlwind of managing your business how easy it is to put your self care on the back burner? I think we do this too often, and I know I have been very guilty of this. But I think it's worth remembering that self care is not selfish. Self care is vital for sustaining momentum in business. Think of self care as that secret sauce that keeps you going strong without compromising your well-being or joy along the roller coaster journey of entrepreneurship. Here's the deal. Maintaining momentum doesn't just magically intentionally craft. Chareen Goodman [00:14:55]: And guess what? The key ingredient in this recipe is resilience. So, dear listeners, get ready to dive into some practical tips and tricks on how to build resilience to keep the momentum going. And the first one out the gate is setting boundaries as a form of self care. Boundaries in both our professional and personal lives are one of the most potent tools for resilience. For instance, consider the story of Sarah. Remember her? Sarah was always available to her clients, answering emails late into the night, taking calls during her family time, and dealing with work related problems over the weekends. Over time, her productivity declined, her health suffered, and her personal relationships were virtually done in. It was only when she began to set clear boundaries, like designated work hours, offline periods, and dedicated personal time did she regain her health, happiness, and her professional momentum. Chareen Goodman [00:16:06]: Don't be fooled. Boundaries aren't barriers to success. They're the foundations of your success. So get started by determining your boundaries and sticking to it. If you make it clear to your clients or team that you won't respond to emails after 6 PM, for example, or that your last coaching session ends at 5 PM. Then you're on the right track to preserving your personal time and teaching others to respect your boundaries. Let's now talk about the role physical activity plays when it comes to building resilience through self care. Physical activity isn't just about maintaining a healthy weight. Chareen Goodman [00:16:54]: It's intrinsically linked to our cognitive function and emotional well-being. I share so often with my clients that entrepreneurship is not for the faint at heart. You have to be strong in your mind to manage and build your business and deal with everything that comes with being an entrepreneur. And that's why physical activity outside your daily work activity is so important. So whether it's a brisk 30 minute walk or a low intensity yoga class, try to find a physical activity you enjoy and make it a part of your daily routine. Regular exercise will not only enhance your overall well-being, but can also boost your professional performance and momentum. I recommend blocking out dedicated days and times to make this aspect of self care happen. The last point we'll cover in this segment is to say when enough is enough and knowing when to call it a day. Chareen Goodman [00:18:03]: A healthy balance between your work and your personal life is crucial. Overworking ourselves and trying to eat the entire elephant in one bite quickly leads to burnout, which ultimately drains the energy reserves you need to maintain momentum over the long haul. If this is your regular routine, it's time to a new one for the new quarter. One thing you can do is to set regular office hours. Set a specific start and end time for your workday, and when it's quitting time, it's quitting time, after which you won't engage in any, work related activities. The trick is to stick by your office hours once you set them. This can help you avoid burnout and preserve the energy you need for sustained performance. The key here is to keep your integrity and honor your word and your time. Chareen Goodman [00:19:01]: As we conclude this segment, let's remind ourselves that self care isn't selfish. It's a vital element to ensure that the engine of your business, which is you, is running at its best. Make self care an essential part of your strategy for maintaining momentum without compromising your health or happiness throughout your entrepreneurial journey. Start setting healthy boundaries, get moving, and know when to call it a day. These simple yet powerful steps can propel you into a successful, healthy, and balanced new quarter. It not only helps us automate those mundane tasks, but also gives us the power to access information from anywhere, anytime. So in this segment, we'll be delving into a few actions that showcase just just how important it is to embrace technology in your business operations. From automating routine tasks to providing access to information anywhere, technology can dramatically enhance efficiency. Here are a few ways to incorporate technology into your business. 1, utilize automation tools. Start by automating repetitive administrative tasks. For example, consider investing in software like ChatGPT, noCRM, or Zoho, which can automate tasks, such as email marketing, data analysis, and customer relationship management. Chareen Goodman [00:21:21]: Tools like these not only reduce the burden on you and your team, but they also help to ensure accuracy and consistency in your business. 2, leverage the flexibility of cloud based solutions. Nowadays, accessibility from anywhere, anytime is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. Cloud based solutions offer incredible flexibility and make accessibility from anywhere at any time easy, which ensures that work continues smoothly even when you're on the go. Cloud based tools like Dropbox or Google Workspace are great options to easily access files and collaborate with others regardless of your location. 3. Use technology to stay ahead of the competition. Using tech tools effectively allows you to stay ahead of the competition by delivering quality service at an efficient pace. Chareen Goodman [00:22:24]: For example, coaches can use video coaching platforms like Zoom to provide remote services, expanding their client base globally, regularly review your tech stack to ensure that you are capitalizing on its full potential. Lastly, technology isn't simply about acquiring the latest tools and gadgets. It's about wise utilization that can exponentially magnify your operational capacities and productive capabilities. As a coach or consultant, I encourage you to embrace technological solutions as vital allies toward achieving greater efficiency. Start by utilizing automation tools. Automating repetitive admin tasks frees up substantive amounts of time that could be better spent engaging clients directly or strategizing the next moves. Then leverage flexibility via cloud based solutions. Accessibility from anywhere at any time means business continues smoothly even when on the go. It's an opportune time to lay a solid foundation, establish clear goals, and implement effective strategies that will undoubtedly shape the trajectory of your business in the months to come. And let me assure you, my dear listeners, that getting this crucial stage right can truly make all the difference between mediocrity and extraordinary success in your business this year. I want you to imagine the first quarter of the year as your blank canvas. Imagine Standing in front of a pristine white canvas. This canvas is your year ahead. What will you paint on it? Will it be bold with vibrant colors of growth and success? Or will it be more soft, filled with subtle cues of introspection, learning, and optimizing? For me, this past month has been more of the latter, but the choice is yours. You see, the first quarter offers us a fresh start, a new beginning. This first quarter time is more than just a few calendar pages. It's a symbol of new opportunities and a chance to set your course. Chareen Goodman [00:04:58]: It's a time filled with potential just waiting for your unique touch. Now I wanna share a quick story with you. Last year, I worked with a client. Let's call him Alex. Alex had a challenging previous year. Despite his best efforts, these didn't go the way that he expected. When we kicked off his personalized profit loves a plan coaching program in January of last year, Instead of rushing into action and tactics, I coached him to spend some time reflecting and vision setting. We looked at his successes, no matter how small, as well as his setbacks, no matter how big. Chareen Goodman [00:04:54]: It was like turning the pages of a book and understanding each chapter before starting a new one. This was a new, but still transformational experience for him. This reflection and vision setting process was eye opening for Alex. He realized that some of his, Quote, unquote, perceived failures were simply stepping stones on his entrepreneurial journey. A well thought out plan is your GPS. I use GPS to mean growth, profitability, and sustainability. Your GPS not only guides you, but also helps to quickly adapt when unexpected detours appear. Take Emily, a consultant, who approached her business without a concrete GPS plan. Chareen Goodman [00:11:17]: She was passionate, yes, but she was also like a ship without a rudder, drifting wherever the wind took her. After a few months, she felt overwhelmed, directionalist, and heading for burnout really fast in her business. When she enrolled in my profit love the plan program, We sat down and worked on a strategic plan that was personal to her and was in alignment with what she wanted to do with her Business. And oh, how the tables turned. With a clear plan, Emily was able to navigate her business with purpose and Confidence. Her story is a testament to how vital planning is. I want you to keep this in mind, that a well crafted plan is your road map to success. It navigates you through the complexities of business and life. This segment is about the 6 steps you can take to secure your footing in the first quarter. Now you might be wondering, How do I create a plan that's not just a document gathering dust on a show, especially if you are not a planner or one who just really hates the land. Right? Well, stepping into the practical zone, here are 6 steps you can take To start to secure your footing for the year. Chareen Goodman [00:13:26]: Step 1, reflect on the past year. The first and perhaps most crucial step is reflection. Think of it as looking in the rearview mirror before celebrating forward. It's about understanding where you've been to better navigate where you're going. What worked for you? What didn't work for you? Take those lessons and channel them into your new plan. Chareen Goodman [00:13:58]: Step 2, set clear, intentional, and measurable goals. Now that you've done some reflection, it's time to set clear goals for the first quarter. Think smart. Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. Setting clear and measurable goals is like aiming an arrow at a specific target. The more precise your target, The more likely you are to hit the mark. Chareen Goodman [00:14:36]: Step 3. You want to break your goals down into smaller manageable chunks. Think of it like eating a pizza. You don't eat it all in 1 bite. You enjoy it slice by slice.Similarly, Tackle your goals 1 step at a time. Break down your goals into smaller tasks and prioritize them based on importance in urgency. For example, if one of your goals is to revamp your website, Break it down into tasks like researching website design trends, hiring a web designer, and creating content for each web page. Step 4, prioritize and plan. Once your goals are set, prioritizing and planning come into play. Prioritizing and planning are key steps in achieving your goals effectively. When it comes to prioritizing, it's important to assess the urgency and importance of each task. Some tasks may have strict deadlines or require immediate attention, while others may be more flexible. Chareen Goodman [00:16:00]: It's up to you to figure out what's the priority. By understanding the urgency, you can determine which task Needs to be Completed 1st. Additionally, consider the impact of each task. Some tasks may have a greater impact on your overall goal more so than others. Identifying these high impact tasks allow you to Allocate your time and resources much more effectively. Step 5, Create a timeline. That means create a timeline for your goals and a schedule for yourself daily, weekly and monthly to keep yourself on track and so that you know exactly what needs to get done and by when. Organize your tasks in a logical order and assign deadlines to each one of them. Chareen Goodman [00:17:01]: This helps you stay on track and ensures that you are making progress towards your goals. Consider using productivity tools or project management software like Asana or Trello to help you stay organized, track your progress, and meet your deadlines. The structured approach will keep you focused and productive throughout the year. And step 6, regularly review and adjust. Regularly review and adjust your plan as needed. This is what I like to term course correction. Just because you left the station doesn't mean that everything is gonna work out perfectly. There will be times to course correct. Chareen Goodman [00:15:56]: The business world is ever changing. Circumstances may change, and new priorities may arise, so be ready to pivot when needed. Stay flexible and adapt your plan accordingly to keep yourself focused and aligned with your goals. This flexibility and adaptability can make all the difference in the dynamic world of coaching and consulting and can save you a lot of frustration and headache. So regularly review your progress, and don't hesitate to tweak your plan when it's necessary to hit your goal. Think course correction. A Coach who sets a goal to acquire a certain number of new clients by the end of the year. However, despite their best efforts, they find it challenging to generate leads And convert those leads into paying clients. This struggle can stem from various factors Such as ineffective marketing strategies, a lack of visibility, or difficulty connecting with your target audience. Other factors like time and capacity can also impact achieving the goal Because let's face it, life does happen and things do change. Another common scenario is when a coach sets a goal to launch a new coaching program or course by the end of the year. However, they face obstacles in the form of limited resources, time constraints, Or even technical challenges. OMG! Haven't we all experienced this one? These roadblocks can delay or even derail some of the best-laid plans, leaving us feeling frustrated and stuck. Now these examples simply highlight the real challenges that coaches face when their year-end goals remain unmet. But don't let these challenges stop you. In the next segment, We'll shift gears and delve into actionable strategies that can help you overcome these obstacles and achieve your goals. Too, it's important to continue to be mindful of potential challenges, such as unexpected obstacles or time constraints. And remember, this is the holiday season, so don't overdo it. Actionable strategy number 3. Accountability and support go a long way. Accountability and support are crucial for achieving your year-end coaching goals. Chareen Goodman [00:11:04]: Even during this time, if your unmet goals need to be met, Find an accountability partner or hire a coach for the short term who can provide guidance and hold you accountable for doing the work required to hit your goal. The benefit of this strategy is that it keeps you motivated, inspired, and laser-focused. However, ensure that the support system you choose aligns with your needs and your values. So let's see this strategy in action. I want you to picture a coach who is stalled at writing the last few chapters of the book she set out to finish by the end of the year. Rather than giving up on her goal, she hires a writing coach who provides guidance, holds her accountable to her writing schedule, and offers feedback to remove the obstacles impeding her progress. With this support and accountability in place, the coach completes her book by year's end. These are just a few examples of actionable strategies that you can implement To achieve your year-end goals. Remember. What works for one coach may not work for another. So choose strategies that align with your unique circumstances and your strengths. Chareen Goodman [00:06:40]: So what exactly is a sales funnel? In very basic terms, It's the journey of your customer right from their initial awareness of your brand or service, All the way through to making a purchase. And ideally, looping back for more. So what is a customer journey? You may be wondering. Well, this is a term used to describe the different stages that your potential client, or in your case, a coachee, Goes through from the moment they first hear about your service to the point they decide to purchase your coaching program or offer. But why is it so important to understand the customer's journey when it comes to your sales funnel success? Consider this. Let's say a potential client stumbles onto one of your social media posts. They find your content engaging, so they decide to visit your website. From taking a look at your coaching programs to leaving an inquiry, every decision they make It's part of their customer journey. Chareen Goodman [00:08:09]: If you don't understand this journey you're taking them on, You might miss out on opportunities to nudge them down the sales funnel, which can lead to missed conversion opportunities For turning them into paying clients. Now let's delve deeply into this journey. First off, let's blend the concept of a sales funnel with the customer journey process. Look at the funnel as a way to visualize the journey your prospects take From not knowing anything about your brand, let's call that awareness, to becoming a fully engaged customer Taking action. The customer journey is typically divided into several stages. Stage 1, Awareness. This is about piquing customers' interest. Imagine that a prospect has just landed in your universe. Chareen Goodman [00:09:20]: So your job is to woo them and lure them in. Whether it's through SEO, search engine optimization, social media, or other online content, It's all about making a strong first impression at stage 1. The next stage is interest. Now that your prospect is intrigued, it's time to keep them engaged. Think of it like a first date. You've triggered their interest, but how do you keep the conversation going? It's all about delivering relevant quality content that demonstrates your value. Following the interest stage comes the decision stage. By now your prospect is sold on you. Chareen Goodman [00:10:17]: But they still may be comparing you with competitors. Here's where you need to communicate your unique strengths and make the decision stage about why your solution is the perfect fit. Following the decision stage It's the action stage. This is your moment of truth. You've captured their attention. Built an interest in your product or service, and differentiated yourself from your competitors. Now it's time to seal the deal. Whether it's through emails, promo codes, or other offers, Your goal is to convert these prospects into customers. Chareen Goodman [00:11:05]: Now there is 1 final stage that isn't often mentioned, But it's still important in the funnel process, and that is the retention stage. Once a prospect has subscribed to your service, you need to continuously provide value to make them stay And possibly refer others to your program. Now let's talk briefly about the role of customer behavior data In designing your sales funnel. Here's where we add another layer to the picture. Customer behavior data includes Their activities, preferences, pain points, and so much more. This information can unmask Valuable insights that allow you to fashion a more personalized and effective sales funnel. As I have talked about in some of my previous podcast episodes, here is where AI tools like ChatGPT can be very useful In helping you get this type of insight. You might be wondering why ChatGPT? Well, Think of ChatGPT as your personal data analyst that never sleeps. Chareen Goodman [00:12:25]: It can process vast amounts of data from multiple sources, analyze it and deliver insights in a comprehensive human-like conversation. This can help you understand your market and competitors in ways you might not have been able to do on your own. And when it comes to understanding your customer behavior, it can give you the insights you need to really optimize your sales funnel. By leveraging these insights, you can design your touchpoints, your content, and your offerings to better align with your Customer's distinct needs and expectations at each stage of their journey. In a nutshell, Comprehension and understanding of your customer's journey and behavior data isn't just beneficial. It is instrumental to crafting a successful sales funnel, one that not only captures but also retain your customers. A sales funnel is simply a way to visualize the journey your prospects take From not knowing anything about you or your brand, that's the awareness stage, to becoming a fully engaged client. Interest? This is where you've intrigued your prospect, and it's time to keep them engaged long enough To where they make a decision. Chareen Goodman [00:15:13]: By the decision stage, your prospects are sold on you. Great job. But now comes your moment of truth, and that is at the action stage. This is where you seal the deal and you land your client. Now let's take a look at the AIDA model. An oldie, but a goodie. You may notice some parallels with this oh-so-familiar marketing concept, The AIDA model, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. This model is a classic in marketing lessons, and for a very good reason. Chareen Goodman [00:16:04]: Simply because it works. It complements the sales funnel stages of the customer journey and reinforces its effectiveness. But now let's get to where the rubber meets the road. How can you customize these stages specifically for a Black Friday campaign? Well, remember that Black Friday thrives on urgency. This factor can amplify each stage of your sales funnel as you apply the AIDA model. Inattention, you must grab your prospect's attention fast. One example of how to do this in your funnel is to use powerful messaging. Say, for example, you have messaging about the monster sale you have coming up for Black Friday. Chareen Goodman [00:17:06]: When it comes to interest, you have to think about what will you use to make them curious enough About your irresistible offer to make them stop and take a further look. During the Desire stage, you want to stir up and create enough tension, suspense, And what I like to say sauciness to create a sense of FOMO, a fear of missing out. Perhaps you can build into your funnel ways to create a few limited quantity items or such magnetic bonuses that it really their desire about your offer. And finally, the all too crucial stage of driving action To close the sale, make the deal. Think about how you can use things like surprise flash sales And countdown timers to create that final push. P.U.S.H. Persevere Until Something Happens. And there you have it coaches. A whistle-stop tour on an effective sales funnel. From attention to action. Following the AIDA model. In this episode, we'll be demystifying AI and Chat GPT for coaches and providing a clear understanding of the basics you need to know in order to fully leverage these technologies for the benefit of your coaching business. As coaches, it's important to stay up to date with the latest technologies and tools that can help us improve our craft, better serve our clients, but above all, build a profitable and sustainable coaching business. And that's what we're going to be doing today. So get ready to learn, bust some misconceptions and discover the benefits of AI and Chat GPT in coaching. Let's dive in. Many of you have heard about AI and Chat GPT, but may not fully understand what they are or how they work. That's why in this segment I'm going to provide a brief overview of these technologies and how they can be used in your coaching practice. So let's start with a little history and gain a simple understanding of what AI and Chat GPT actually are. Did you know that the modern idea of AI as we know it today really began in the 1950s with the development of the first computers? Yep. And in the 1960s, the field of AI research really took off, with scientists developing techniques like rule-based systems and decision trees Things that we use in our business. At least I do. Now fast forward to the 1980s. Machine learning became a popular technique, allowing computer programs to learn and improve on their own. Remember the movie Irobot? And in the 2000s, with the rise of big data and advances in computing, AI picked up speed. And now AI is used in a wide variety of applications, including voice assistants hello, Siri and Alexa, and self-driving cars. In fact, I just read an article about a self-driving bus in London. Wow. Yep. That's all. AI. Technology. At its core, AI refers to computer systems that deal with the creation of intelligent machines that can perform tasks that typically require human, “brain functioning” intelligence. Now, Chat GPT, on the other hand, is a specific application of AI that uses natural language processing NLP for short, to create conversational agents. And I love the term conversational agents that can respond to text-based inputs, which are known as prompts in a human-like way. In other words, Chat GPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot that can have conversations with people, but also create content in a humanlike way to engage with people in a natural, human-like way. Pretty wild, right? Now, let's talk about how AI and Chat GPT can be used in coach. As a coach, your time is valuable. By leveraging the power of AI and Chat GPT, you can automate your business processes, provide personalized coaching, and grow your coaching business into a much more profitable one. These technologies can be used to automate repetitive tasks such as scheduling appointments and sending out reminders. They can also be used to analyze data and provide insights into your client's behaviors and preferences. Not only that but AI and Chat GPT can help with lead generation, which is so big for continued business growth. And lead generation is one of the top issues my clients have when they enroll to work with me. AI can help you find and attract potential clients who are looking for your coaching services. With AI, power tools and Chat GPT, you can identify and target your ideal clients based on their interests, demographics, and behaviors. Did you know that? The most important thing to remember, however, is that AI and Chat GPT are not meant to replace the human element in the development of your business or the coaching of your clients. These technologies are simply power tools that can help you grow and manage your business more efficiently and enhance the coaching experience of your clients. At the end of the day, coaching is and will always be about human interaction and connection. And that's something that can't be replaced by any technology, whether it's AI or Chat GPT. Now, I understand that some of you may have some preconceived notions about these technologies, so I want to take a moment to clear the air and set the record straight. So the first misconception I want to address is that of AI replacing coaches. I know this may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but let me assure you that this couldn't be further from the truth. As a coach, you have uniqueness, made up of insights, knowledge and experience that is personal to you. It's what you bring to your clients. While AI technology has come a long way, it will never be able to replace the personal touch and expertise that coaches offer. And you as a coach must be clear on the value you offer your clients and your ideal future clients. AI is simply a tool to assist coaches in their work. The same goes for Chat GPT. It is simply a tool to assist coaches in their work. When implemented and used properly, it can provide helpful suggestions and insights to support your coaching practice. But again, it's important for coaches to recognize that they can't let go of the steering wheel. Coaches play a vital role in understanding their clients' unique situations, providing the emotional support and accountability that their clients need to achieve their coaching outcomes and goals, and helping their clients navigate complex challenges. That's what you get paid to do, not Chat GPT. These technologies can never and should never replace the personal touch and expertise that coaches offer. Now, on to misconception number two that AI and Chat GPT are impersonal. This one is understandable since we're talking about machines here. I get it. But this is a misconception. In fact, Chat GPT is designed to learn from its interactions with you and your clients. It is trained by you, and it just may surprise you to know that AI technology can actually be very personal and in some cases, is much more personal than you. Go figure. As I just mentioned, Chat GPT is designed to learn from its interactions. And given the right prompts, inputs, and training, it can become that great conversational agent for you as a coach and with your clients, providing personalized responses in your unique brand voice. It can even pick up on subtleties in language and tone, allowing it to tailor its responses to the specific context of the conversation OMG all day long. So it's not impersonal. It's actually very personal when trained, or shall I say coaches properly. Lastly, misconception number three AI is unreliable. Now, while it's true that AI technology is still advancing, chat GPT, for example, is built on a robust and reliable platform that is constantly being improved and updated. With proper implementation and use, chat GPT can be a powerful tool for coaches looking to enhance their coaching practice. It's all about learning to work with the technology and leveraging it to its full potential. This is not a set-it-and-forget-it tool. Your human involvement is required. So, coaches, it's time to shift our mindset about these misconceptions. AI and Chat GPT are not here to replace us or take over our jobs as coaches. Instead, they can be valuable tools to enhance our coach practice and improve our client outcomes and our business overall. And with the right understanding and application of these technologies, we can use AI and Chat GPT to create a more personalized and effective coaching experience for our clients while building the coaching business of our dreams. By automating repetitive tasks and streamlining your workflow, you as a coach can manage your time more effectively and focus on what really matters building a profitable business and helping your clients achieve their goals. So say goodbye to the never-ending paperwork and hello to more productivity and profitability. Now, that's just number one. But that's not all. Now, here's a real gem for you. With AI, we're talking about personalization and customization on a whole new level. It's like having a coaching genie that knows exactly what you need and delivers it on a silver platter. Ulala. And sometimes, God forbid, we might unknowingly let our biases and errors sneak into our coaching. Think of AI in this area like having a wise owl sitting on your shoulder. Harry Potter, anyone that offers you the most objective advice imaginable. But AI? Really? Yes, really. It's time to say goodbye to human biases and errors. AI brings improved accuracy and objectivity to the coaching arena. As in coaching, it's all about objectivity. And this can be especially helpful when dealing with sensitive or complex issues where objectivity is key. AI can help you eliminate human biases and errors by eliminating biases and errors with the use of AI can help coaches make much more informed decisions and provide a better coaching experience for their clients. It's sort of like having that trusted sidekick who keeps us on track and helps us to keep it real when it comes to coaching. Now that's some serious coaching superpower right there. My caveat with this one is that you don't let yourself get lazy. You take the lead. Don't let AI lead you. Now, here's the last one I want to give you today. With the use of AI, you can actually enhance your personal innovation and creativity when it comes to being a coach. Yep, you heard it right. But what if I told you that AI and ChatGPT could help you streamline and automate many of these tasks so you can focus more on the coaching itself? Well, that's exactly what we're going to be diving into in this series. We'll be exploring how AI in ChatGPT can help you save time, build and grow your business, personalize your coaching to better meet your client's needs, and even attract new clients through innovative marketing strategies and tactics. So whether you're brand new to AI and ChatGPT, or you're already using these technologies in your practice, this series is for you. I'm so glad you can join me for episode six of the Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ podcast. Now, I'm sure you've heard of the terms AI and ChatGPT, but in this segment, let's take a few minutes to get a better understanding of what they are. We know it's been a hot topic lately and I don't want you to miss out on the hype and buzz that's been going around. You've heard the terms for months, right? But maybe there are a few of you who might be wondering what exactly is AI in ChatGPT. Well, AI stands for artificial intelligence and it refers to the ability of machines to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, which is slightly different from machines that perform tasks that typically require physical human effort, like robotics. I like how someone phrased it. AI is the brain and robotics is the body, which means that AI includes things like learning, reasoning, and problem-solving. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is a specific type of AI technology that's used for natural language processing. In a nutshell, ChatGPT is a program that can basically understand and generate humanlike language. So why is it important for coaches to understand these technologies? Well, there are a few reasons. First of all, AI and ChatGPT can be incredibly useful tools for coaches who want to save time, increase efficiency, and personalize their coaching process to better meet the needs of their clients. That's a win. For example, imagine being able to analyze large amounts of data about your client's behavior and preferences, and then using that information to tailor your coaching approach to each individual according to their unique needs. Amazing. Or imagine having a virtual assistant fueled by ChatGPT that can handle administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and sending follow-up emails so that you can stay on top of things and can focus more on the coaching itself. Cool, right? Another reason why it's important for coaches to understand AI and ChatGPT is that these technologies are becoming more and more prevalent in our daily lives, both business-wise and personally. I'm certain that there are AI tools you are using that you aren't even aware that they are using AI technology like Grammarly, which I love and use every day. There are AI tools from voice assistants like Siri, Bixby, and Alexa to chatbots on websites and social media platforms. We are, in fact, interacting with AIpowered tools all the time. This is not a new occurrence. By understanding how these technologies work and how they can be used in coaching, coaches can stay ahead of the curve and provide more value to their clients. And isn't value the goal? So that's a brief overview of AI and ChatGPT and why they're important for coaches to understand. In the next segment, we'll dive deeper into the specific benefits that coaches can gain by using these technologies in their coaching practice. In this segment, we'll be exploring the many benefits that coaches can gain by integrating AI and ChatGPT into their coaching business. As I mentioned in the previous segment, AI and ChatGPT can be incredibly useful tools for coaches who want to save time, increase efficiency, and personalize their coaching to better meet the needs of their clients. But now let's explore each of these benefits in a bit more detail. First, let's talk about saving time as a coach you probably have a lot on your plate. You need to schedule sessions, prepare for coaching sessions, follow up with clients and prospects, and manage your business. Overall, this can be overwhelming, especially if you are a solo coach. But with AI tools and ChatGPT, you can automate many of these tasks and free up more time for coaching. For example, you can use a virtual assistant-powered AI to handle administrative tasks like scheduling appointments and sending out personalized follow-up emails. This alone can save you hours of time each week that you can use to focus on serving your clients and growing your coaching business. We all know that running a coaching business takes a lot of time to build and grow it into a profit-making machine. And if you can find a way to get back some hours, it's well worth the investment. Right? Well, here's where AI and ChatGPT come in. Second, let's talk about increasing efficiency. It's time to stop doing so much of your work manually. By using AI and ChatGPT, you can streamline your coaching processes and make them more efficient. For example, you can use AIpowered tools to analyze large amounts of data about your client's behavior and preferences. This can help you tailor your coaching approach to each individual client, thereby increasing the likelihood that they'll achieve their individual goals. You can also use ChatGPT to create personalized coaching programs for your clients. Now imagine that long gone are the days of cookie-cutter coaching. With ChatGPT, you can analyze your client's goals, preferences, and behavior and create a coaching plan that's tailored specifically to their needs. This can help you provide a more personalized coaching experience, which can lead to better outcomes for your clients. Finally, let's talk about personalization for a moment. One of the biggest advantages of AI and ChatGPT in coaching is their ability to personalize coaching to better meet the needs of your clients. But there are many other ways that you can use AI and ChatGPT to personalize coaching. For example, you can use AIpowered chatbots to provide on-demand coaching support to your clients. This can help them stay on track with their goals even when they're not in a coaching session with you. You can also use AI to analyze your client's progress and provide feedback in real-time. This too can help your clients stay motivated and make progress more quickly. So these are just a few examples of how AI and ChatGPT can benefit coaches by saving time, increasing efficiency, and Personalizing Coaching the technologies can help you provide a better coaching experience for your clients while you grow your business. Ultimately, the key to successfully integrating AI and ChatGPT into your coaching practice is to start small and experiment. Nothing happens overnight and nothing beats a miss but a try. Just remember, though, AI and ChatGPT is not a replacement for human coaching. They're tools that can help you provide a better coaching experience for your clients. It's very important to strike a balance between technology and real-life human interaction in the coaching process. Here it is in layman's terms. Despite having a fancy vehicle, you are still required for driving it responsibly. When you integrate AI and ChatGPT into your coaching practice, make sure you're still providing that human touch, personal interaction, and connection are still vital to the coaching process. Use these tools to enhance your coaching, not to replace it. Welcome back to another exciting segment of the Crack the Coaching C.O.D.E.™ podcast. Now, in this segment, we're going to take a closer look at the future of coaching using AI and ChatGPT. As we've talked about in previous segments, these technologies have already had a significant impact on the coaching industry. But what does the future really hold for you as a coach? What emerging trends and technologies should coaches be aware of? And how can coaches prepare themselves for the changes to come? One emerging trend that we're seeing is the use of virtual reality, or VR for short, and augmented reality AR for short. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize the way we deliver coaching by providing immersive, interactive experiences that simulate real-life situations. For example, a coach could use virtual reality to simulate a high-stress business meeting, thereby allowing clients to practice and improve their communication skills in a safe and controlled environment. Similarly, augmented reality could be used to provide real-time coaching feedback during a sports game, for example, or even in a fitness session. Another trend that's out there is the integration of AI and ChatGPT into wearable devices. This means that clients could have access to personalized coaching and feedback in 24/7 real-time, whether they're at home, at work, or even on the go. For example, if you are a health or fitness coach, a wearable device could use AI to analyze a client's posture and provide feedback on how to improve it or use ChatGPT to provide motivational messages and coaching support throughout the day. Now, of course, with these emerging trends and technologies come new challenges and real ethical considerations. For example, how do we ensure the privacy and security of client data when using wearable devices or in virtual reality environments? How do we maintain the human touch and connection in coaching when relying heavily on AI or ChatGPT? These are important questions that coaches need to consider as they navigate the future of coaching using AI and ChatGPT technologies. So how can you as a coach prepare for the changes to come? One important step is to stay informed and educated about emerging trends and technologies. Continual learning is key. You can do this by attending conferences and workshops, reading up on industry publications, and networking with other coaches to stay up to date on the latest developments. I personally have an upcoming summer school program for coaches and consultants that want to learn how to leverage AI and ChatGPT in the coaching practice. Another important step in this process is to be open-minded and adaptable. Technology in and of itself can sometimes be a bear, but it's important as a coach to embrace new technologies and approaches and be willing to experiment and try new things. Remember, coaching is a constantly evolving field and it's important to stay flexible and adaptable in order to stay relevant, effective, and above all, profitable. I can only imagine that the future of coaching with AI and ChatGPT is going to get more exciting and be full of potential. By staying informed and adapting to these new trends and technologies, as a coach, you will be able to continue to provide effective coaching support for your clients and grow your business in the process.
