Creative Reading

Join us on an expansive journey of the world around us through the lens of what we like to call; Creative Reading. Where we explore the works of art such as; philosophy, psychics, religion, poetry, psychology, consciousness, biology and much much more. Hosted by two readers (Lindsay & Ryan :)) who believe the best books aren't meant to be finished, but that they're meant to be answered. Creative Reading pairs ancient and modern texts with honest conversations, debates and inquires about the ideas that they contain. We are not a book club but a contemplation partnership, recorded.

Who Is The GOAT of Modern Psychology

Before the self-help industry, before the therapy boom, before personality tests colonized every corner of the internet. These three men fundamentally rewired how human beings understand themselves. Sigmund Freud dragged the unconscious into the light and argued that your past made you who you are. Carl Jung went deeper, proposing a collective unconscious shared across all of humanity and a lifelong drive toward meaning. Alfred Adler broke from both and insisted the real question isn't where you've been but where you're going he believed that human beings are goal-oriented creatures capable of rewriting their own story. In this episode, we trace the careers, the relations to one another, and the core ideas of modern psychology's three founding voices and propose a framework for how they fit together. Freud gave us the how. Jung gave us the why. Adler gave us the what. The question we couldn't stop debating: whose toolkit do you actually reach for when you're trying to live a better life?
