Welcome to Cross Border Interviews. Our goal is to create meaningful municipal conversations that inform, connect, educate and strengthen communities from coast to coast to coast in Canada. For this edition of Cross Border Interviews, we are honoured to welcome to the show, Town of Taber Councillor Carly FirthTaber is colloquially known as the “Corn Capital of Canada” due to the famous golden crop grown in the region. But what makes Taber corn so special? To put it simply, it’s because of the amount of sunshine our area receives. Taber's previous motto was the “Land of the Lo-o-ong Sun,” so that gives an indication of how much sun they actually get in the area! But you can’t give the sun all the credit. The corn also receives help from cool nights (which brings out the sugar production in the corn), irrigation water, good soil, and the talents of the region’s producers.Accept no substitutes! Taber Corn is so famous that growers in the area actually have certificates of authenticity to prove that the cobs were grown in the Taber region.------Learn More About Today's Community: https://www.taber.ca/------Support The Show Today: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/support-the-showJoin The Show: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/be-part-of-the-show ------Listen To The Show: Apple: https://apple.co/3XwwXIvSpotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cross-border-interviewsYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/crossborderinterviewswithchrisbrown------Follow Us On Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.socialFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/ Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/Cross Border Interview is Part of the Cross Border Network© 2026
