As the United States considers restructuring what it means to police American cities, it might be time to consider what it means to restructure our churches to make sanctuaries for hurting people.

How has the white church in America gotten to the point where it will support somebody that appears completely out of line with their way of life? Fear is a powerful tool and people will use it for their own personal gain.

Why aren't Christians more openly condemning police brutality? Why do Christians feel like they are the ones always under attack? Let's examine their history and see if we can figure something out. This is part of a series in response to the death of George Floyd and how Christians are reacting to the initial death and how they are reacting to the riots.

At some point in your journey, you have to stop and ask, "Why?" I have a conversation with my friend Liz to talk about our faith backgrounds, where we started to question things, and where we have settled (at least for now).

For a lot of Christians, Genesis has become a battleground state in which we defend and die defending our beliefs. I think there's something new to be gained here.

People are turned off to religion for several reasons, but sometimes it is as simple as a church that treats you like trash.
