Yes, that's exactly what foreigners struggle with - being able to have a normal conversation with your Czech friends and colleagues. Renča also shares her tips and tricks that will help you on your learning journey. From Failure to Phoenix: Mir's Remarkable A2 Exam Story

Send Renča a text 😉This episode is so special. Why? Because Mir is openly talking about his failure during the first attempt for his A2 exam. Why did he fail? What happened next before meeting me and starting a new chapter in his learning journey that lead to his SUCCESS?Why 58 x 90-minute traditional lessons didn't lead him to success? How is it possible that the equivalent of 9 lessons with me (54 x 15-minute lessons = 9 x 90-minute lessons) was more than enough for him to pass the A2 exam with confidence? This was not only about learning vocabulary. This was also about overcoming a trauma. I am not a therapist. I am not a psychologist or a psychiatrist either - yet there are situations in the life of a tutor when special methods, huge doses of empathy and gentle approach combined with pushing the student at the right moments for him to be able to overcome the obstacles and succeed - all of this combined is simply necessary...The episodes Mir is talking about:What Questions Would Renča Ask a Potential Tutor? Czech Success: Cilia's Journey to Acing the A2 Exam

Send Renča a text 😉In this episode, my student Cilia is sharing her experience with the preparation for her A2 exam in Czech as well as the exam itself. And how about her Czech in the future?Thank you so much, Cilia, for sharing your views and journey with us. Quick note: I forgot to use the cable at the first part of the talk. That's why there is a brief moment when our talk sounds weird. I don't normally edit these talks so that it's as authentic as possible. I had to edit out the part when I was searching for the cable this time. My apologies. - See, nobody is perfect.

From Fear to Fluency: Karin’s Czech Learning Tale

Send Renča a text 😉I am so glad Karin has agreed to record this talk with me.Why is this episode so special?⭐️ Karin is overcoming her fear of speaking Czech ⭐️ she has reached such a level that she could have this talk in Czech - how has she achieved that?⭐️ Karin is a teacher - so what it's like to teach a teacher? And what does she think about my 15-minute lessons (as a teacher)? And my community? This talk is about having fun, huge personal journey and so much more. It's definitely worth listening.Thank you, Karin, for your patience - waiting for 7 months for my lessons, that's a lot.And that's the reason I am opening my community. You will get the chance to learn Czech with me without waiting for my lessons for months. I spent last year testing different activities etc. to be able to transform my methods from individual lessons to the community. So that you can experience the same progress as the students from my individual lessons. The list of all episodes is here: https://czech-me.com/daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The link (COMMUNITY Czech Your Day): https://czech-me.com/join-community-czech-your-day/

Send Renča a text 😉In this episode, Renča takes you on a journey back in time, comparing her likes and dislikes at age 20 to her current preferences. In this way you will refresh structures to express preferences in both the past and present tense. Renča shares her changing interests in meditation, walking with a dog, baking, cooking, ginger tea, traveling, reading, swimming, and umbrellas. If you aren't familiar with these structures in Czech, go back to episodes #12, #14 and #15 (season 2).I highly recommend you to download the handout + check the article with English translations here: https://czech-me.com/czech-your-preferences-reflecting-on-20-and-now-kdyz-mi-bylo-dvacet-rada-jsem-cestovalas02-e58-daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The list of all episodes is here: https://czech-me.com/daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The link (COMMUNITY Czech Your Day): https://czech-me.com/join-community-czech-your-day/

Yesterday's Tale: A Peek into Martin's Day (CO VČERA DĚLAL MARTIN?)

Send Renča a text 😉Renča has created a short story about Martin's day. Why? It will give you a chance to practice all the verbs in the 3rd person (masculine) as well as time (v půl sedmé, ve tři čtvrtě na pět etc.), places and exressions useful when you want to talk about your day.If you are a beginner or you struggle with listening, use the part in the slow mode first. Listen to it without a handout at first. It may be frustrating, I know. But your ears need to get used to the Czech sounds and words. Try to understand from the context as much as possible. Then use the handout. If you still struggle, use the translations on my website. Once you feel comfortable (it may take several days), push yourself and listen repeatedly to the fast version (without a handout). It may be really challenging at first, but don't give up. It's just like in the gym - your ears need to get used to the "heavy weights" (= fast mode). Listening to the episode just once isn't enough.I highly recommend you to download the handout + check the article with English translations here: https://czech-me.com/yesterdays-tale-a-peek-into-martins-day-co-vcera-delal-martins02-e57-daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The list of all episodes is here: https://czech-me.com/daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The link (COMMUNITY Czech Your Day): https://czech-me.com/join-community-czech-your-day/

Czech Dialogues Unplugged: Mastering 'Have' in the Past Tense

Send Renča a text 😉In this episode, Renča shares with you 2 dialogues in the past tense. You will have the chance to practice the expressions you have learnt this week (#51-#54).You will hear both dialogues in Standard Czech (= textbook version = the one you need for exams or formal situations). And as a bonus, you will hear the first dialogue in a really informal version (real-life Czech). Renča has used lots of informal expressions (also the way she pronounces certain words - eg. od - do, zítra,... - expresses the level of informality (to be honest, she wouldn't use as many informal expressions in one dialogue (it's too informal for her taste), but she wanted to show you different options).I highly recommend you to download the handout + check the article with English translations here: https://czech-me.com/czech-dialogues-unplugged-mastering-have-in-the-past-tenses02-e55-daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The list of all episodes is here: https://czech-me.com/daily-podcast-czech-your-day/The link (COMMUNITY Czech Your Day): https://czech-me.com/join-community-czech-your-day/00:21 Overview of Today's Episode01:48 Dialogue 1: Standard Czech02:21 Dialogue 2: Standard Czech03:13 Bonus: Real-life Czech

Talk with Scott: A Unique Journey (No Cases, No Problem)

Send Renča a text 😉This episode is truly special. My student Scott doesn't know a single case in Czech, yet he manages to have a phone call in Czech or understands what his Czech colleagues talk about (fast) in Czech.Don't miss this episode. It's definitely worth listening.BIG THANKS TO SCOTT for shooting this episode with me.I haven't edited our conversation at all. We did it in one take (even with my intro and outro). The only thing I added was the jingle (intro and outro). Why? Because I wanted you to experience the real - my mistakes, my nervousness, etc. See - nobody is perfect. But we get better over time if we give it a chance.I hope this episode will help tons of you realize many things.BTW Scott doesn't give himself enough credit. Yes, he doesn't practice quizzes much in his free time (practice in a traditional sense). BUT if you listen carefully, you will find out he does MUCH MORE!AND THAT'S THE REASON HE HAS SUCCEEDED AND WHY HE WILL GET MUCH, MUCH BETTER.The link (COMMUNITY Czech Your Day): https://czech-me.com/join-community-czech-your-day/
