God’s No Is Still a Setup for Victory
In this episode rewind , Tola highlights the pivotal moment when God tells Gideon he has too many men. This was a divine strategy that didn’t make sense from a human perspective. Reducing the number of soldiers before going into battle would seem counterproductive, but God's ways are not our ways.Tola shares how this applies to our daily lives as nurses, leaders, mothers, wives, and entrepreneurs. God often gives us instructions that do not align with conventional logic, and this is where faith becomes practical. Faith is not just a belief, it is obedience to divine strategy even when it seems unreasonable.God’s intent was not only to give Gideon the victory but also to ensure that the glory returned to Him. In the same way, when we follow God’s unique strategies in our lives, we begin to see results that cannot be explained by credentials, background, or effort alone. This reminds us that obedience positions us to walk in peace, grace, and ease, not by our strength but by His direction.Key Takeaways:Divine strategies often do not make sense in the natural, but they lead to supernatural results.God trims our "numbers" so we will rely on Him rather than our own qualifications or resources. Many people seek signs because they are overwhelmed by too many voices. Stillness and centering in God's Word clarify His strategy.Success in nursing, business, and family comes when you choose to obey God's leading, even in the small and unusual things.Every victory you experience is a reminder to give the glory back to God, not to your intellect, experience, or training.Faith in Action Reflection:Reflect on areas in your life where God may be calling you to implement a new or unusual strategy. Are you resisting because it doesn't make sense? Are you waiting for a sign instead of simply obeying what you already heard from God?Write down recent compliments or wins in your life. How did God show up in those situations? Were there divine strategies behind the success?Identify one area where you tend to speak negatively (money, parenting, nursing). Replace those statements with Scripture-based affirmations.Reflection Questions:What instruction has God given you that seems illogical or inconvenient? Are you trying to make your life work by human strategy instead of spiritual guidance? How can you make your faith more practical this week?Listen & Subscribe:You can listen to Daily Devotionals for Nurses on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite platform. Say Yes to God's Strategy
In this episode, Tola continues the reflection on Judges 7 and God's instructions to Gideon about reducing the size of his army. Gideon had over 32,000 men, but God told him to let those who were fearful and afraid turn back. While it may have looked like Gideon was giving up his advantage, God was actually protecting him.Tola helps listeners consider what it would feel like to be in Gideon's shoes. Imagine having what seems like an army of support, only to be told that most of it must go. The instruction doesn’t make sense at first glance, but faith is about trusting God even when the strategy defies logic. She explains how fear is contagious. Fearful people on your journey can delay your progress, distort your perspective, and pull you back emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. God was helping Gideon avoid a future defeat by removing voices and influences that would have weakened him. Tola reminds listeners that obedience to divine strategy often leads to protection from outcomes we may never even see.Using a powerful analogy from her work in wound care, Tola compares disobedience to untreated wounds. Sometimes we end up with emotional, physical, or psychological wounds because we ignored divine direction. Obeying God's voice helps us avoid unnecessary trauma and protects us from battles we were never meant to fight in the first place. She encourages listeners to choose trust over curiosity. Instead of wondering what would have happened if they had gone the other way, it is better to rest in the peace of never knowing. Obedience may not always be easy, but it is always worth it.Scripture FocusJudges 7:3 (NKJV)"Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.’ And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained."Are you in a season where God is asking you to do something uncomfortable? Is He asking you to let go of certain people, places, or plans? Do you feel like you are being asked to implement a divine strategy that does not make sense?Tola invites you to join the Nurses of Faith Mastermind. God Deserves the Glory
In this episode, Tola circles back to Gideon’s story in Judges 7 and invites us to pause and recognize a powerful truth: God gives divine strategies not only to save us but to ensure He receives the glory for every victory. As nurses and believers, we often face overwhelming circumstances, whether on the job, in leadership, or in personal life, but God’s instructions are intentional and precise. When the Israelites cried out for deliverance from the Midianites, God answered. But He made it clear that the victory would not come from numbers, effort, or human wisdom. It would come through Him alone. Tola highlights how easy it is to attribute success to our own efforts—our intelligence, charisma, education, or upbringing. Yet, when we do this, we risk robbing God of the very glory due to Him.She shares a personal testimony from nursing, where the Holy Spirit’s gentle prompt to bring an unnecessary instrument into a patient’s room proved to be a timely, lifesaving move. This story reminds us of the importance of sensitivity to divine direction in even the smallest tasks. Often what looks like intuition is actually revelation from the Lord.Tola also challenges listeners to reflect on whether they thank God for what is working in their lives or only talk to Him when things fall apart. The same God who delivers also deserves the credit. Our posture must remain one of humility and gratitude, especially when success comes in unexpected, supernatural ways.If you have ever walked through a season where you knew the outcome was not because of you, but because of God, this episode will deepen your appreciation and realign your heart to give Him all the praise. As you reflect on what is working in your life, take a moment to give God the glory. Thank Him for the guidance, provision, and strategies that have helped you thrive, even when the odds were stacked against you.If you are in a season where you need support to carry out God’s instructions with boldness, clarity, and obedience, consider joining the Nurses of Faith Mastermind. It is a space designed for nurses who are being led by God but need accountability and strategy to follow through. Whether you are navigating your next career move, launching something new, or leading in difficult spaces, you do not have to do it alone. https://stan.store/Nursesoffaith/p/the-nurses-of-faith-mastermindFollow @nursesoffaith on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube

When God's Strategy Is to Let Them Go
In this powerful episode, Tola explores what it looks like to walk in obedience when God's strategy involves letting go. Drawing from the story of Gideon in Judges 7, she explains how God's instructions may not always make logical sense, but they are always rooted in divine wisdom and eternal perspective.Gideon was prepared to go into battle with 32,000 men, but God saw something he could not. God knew the hearts of the men. He knew that 22,000 of them were fearful and would only weaken the mission. So He gave Gideon a counterintuitive strategy: reduce the numbers. Not to discourage him, but to ensure that the victory would be God's and not man’s.This episode reminds us that fear is not a neutral companion. Partnering with fear, especially in leadership, decision-making, and vision execution, will only sabotage what God has called you to do. You may be surrounded by people, but are they the right people for your assignment? Are they walking in faith, or are they operating from fear?Tola also shares a word of encouragement for those who have experienced painful separations or divine redirections. Perhaps God told you to walk away from a relationship, decline a partnership, or pass on a job opportunity. It may not make sense now, but trust that God is doing what He did for Gideon—shielding you from hidden dangers and positioning you for victory.Sometimes we are tempted to press forward with our own logic. Other times, we stall out because we do not understand why God said no. But if you are in that in-between place where you know what God said, but you are struggling to implement it, you are not alone. And you do not have to figure it out by yourself. If you are in a season of leadership where God has given you direction, but the practical implementation feels heavy, the Nurses of Faith Mastermind is your place of support. This mastermind is for nurses who know they are called to more, who are receiving divine strategy for their next steps, and who need godly support and accountability to walk it out.Whether you are leading at the bedside, building a business, launching a ministry, or navigating a life transition, you were not meant to do it alone. The Mastermind meets twice a month and offers biblical mentorship, strategic planning, and practical wisdom rooted in the Word of God. If you are a modern-day Gideon who needs the strength and structure to follow through, this is for you.Join the Nurses of Faith Mastermind Waitlist https://stan.store/Nursesoffaith/p/the-nurses-of-faith-mastermindAttend Worship Night for Nurses – August 31 at 6 PM EST (Atlanta, GA) Join us in person for a powerful night of worship, prayer, and refreshing for nurses. Your Next Season Requires Faith, Not Signs
In this episode, Tola shares an important truth: your next season requires faith, not just signs. Building on the story of Gideon in Judges 6 and now moving into chapter 7, she shows how God leads His people with divine strategy that does not always make sense to the natural mind.Gideon was asked to reduce his army, even though it seemed like he needed more people to win the battle. But God had a plan. The strategy was about trust and obedience, not numbers or logic. Tola reminds nurses that in the same way, God will begin to give you unique strategies for your work, your home, and your personal life. Those strategies may not seem mainstream, but they are designed for your victory. You may be used to waiting on external signs or the voice of a prophet, but your next breakthrough will come when you are able to hear and follow God’s instructions for yourself. The problem is not always that God is not speaking. Sometimes there are too many other voices around you. Like Gideon, you may need to reduce the noise and trust what God is saying.Key Takeaways:The next level of your life will be accessed through faith, not repeated signs.God’s strategies are sometimes illogical to human thinking but are perfect in His plan.Asking for a sign repeatedly may stem from confusion caused by too many voices or opinions. When you stop depending on external confirmations and start leaning on God’s voice, clarity follows.Divine strategy always requires action. Faith is not just belief but obedience.Faith in Action Reflection:Where are you still waiting for confirmation even though God has already spoken? Are you willing to follow a strategy from God that does not make sense to others?Take time to identify if too many outside voices are creating confusion. Ask the Holy Spirit to silence the noise so you can hear clearly.Write out the last instruction you received from God and list the fears that may be holding you back. Then counter each one with Scripture.Reflection Questions:What strategy has God already revealed that you have not implemented?Have you allowed other people’s opinions to cloud your obedience? In what areas are you willing to trust God’s unusual instructions?Listen & Subscribe:You can listen to Daily Devotionals for Nurses on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite platform. When Asking for a Sign Reveals a Deeper Issue
In this episode , Tola explores the heart issues behind our repeated requests for signs from God. Drawing again from Gideon’s story in Judges 6, she shows how Gideon’s desire for confirmation stemmed from fear, shame, and a sense of inadequacy. Although God granted his requests, Gideon’s repeated need for signs pointed to a lack of trust and identity in God’s calling.Tola challenges listeners to look beneath their own requests for signs and ask, “What is this hesitation really pointing to?” Whether it’s fear, shame, past trauma, or insecurity, she encourages nurses to bring those hidden fears into the light of God’s truth.Using personal experiences and practical tools like faith declarations and written exercises, she equips listeners to move forward not with perfect clarity, but with unwavering trust in the God who calls them.Scripture Focus:Judges 6:36–40 – Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised, look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.”And again in verse 39, “Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request.”Key Takeaways:Asking for signs can become a spiritual crutch rooted in fear or past failures.Gideon’s identity struggle mirrors our own reluctance to obey when God calls us to lead or step out in faith. We must confront the real issue behind our need for signs: is it fear, shame, or uncertainty about God's character?Faith is not about having everything figured out. It is about moving with God even when you cannot see the outcome. You can counter fear by writing out your faith declarations and standing on the Word of God.Faith in Action Exercise:Ask yourself: Where is my fear hiding?Write down the instruction or opportunity God is presenting to you.List out the fears that come up when you consider obeying Him.Now write faith statements to counter each fear. For example: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” or “He surrounds me with favor as a shield.”Reflection Questions:What is your pattern when God gives you a new instruction?Have you been delaying obedience because you are waiting for confirmation? How can you use faith declarations to replace fear-based thinking?Listen & Subscribe:You can listen to Daily Devotionals for Nurses on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform. Don't Wait for a Sign Before You Move
In this episode, Tola continues her study on the life of Gideon from Judges 6, reminding nurses and faith-driven professionals that we do not need to wait for a sign to move forward in obedience to God.Using Hebrews 11 as a foundational scripture, Tola explains the nature of true faith not as something theoretical or passive, but as active trust in God’s voice, even when we can’t see the full picture. She challenges listeners to grow their faith through consistent time in the Word and to stop relying on external confirmation before making faith-led decisions. She shares a personal story about a time God instructed her to leave a job without a backup plan. She obeyed not because she saw a sign, but because she had grown confident in how God speaks to her. The miracle she experienced came after she obeyed, serving as a result of her faith rather than the prerequisite for it.Key Takeaways:You don’t need a prophet to move when God speaks. Learn to discern His voice and trust Him without delay.Faith is practical. It's not just what we know, it's what we do in response to God’s instructions.Build your faith by reading and meditating on scriptures like Hebrews 11. The more you immerse yourself in God's Word, the more confident you become in His guidance.Don’t get stuck in “theoretical faith.” Like Gideon, it’s possible to know of God’s power but still hesitate. Growth happens when you practice what you believe.Reflection Questions:Where in your life are you waiting for a sign instead of obeying God’s instructions? How can you build a stronger foundation of trust in God's voice this week? What step is God asking you to take, even if it feels risky?Listen & Subscribe:Tune in to Daily Devotionals for Nurses on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you stream your favorite shows. You Don't Need Another Sign from God (Rewind)
In this Episode ( Rewind ) of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola invites listeners to reflect on the danger of depending on repeated signs from God as a prerequisite for obedience. While Gideon asked for signs multiple times, Tola reminds us that our walk with God is not meant to be built on constant confirmations but on faith and trust in His voice.Drawing from relatable analogies and biblical truth, this episode challenges nurses and believers to examine whether they have unknowingly become addicted to signs, prophecies, or outside voices. Tola shares a heart-stirring illustration of a child repeatedly asking a faithful father for proof that dinner will be served—revealing how mistrust can quietly masquerade as spirituality. This is a call to mature faith. A call to trust that if God said it, He will do it. Waiting for signs can delay our assignments, weaken our trust, and make us dependent on others to hear God for us. Tola encourages you to deepen your relationship with the Lord so that your confidence flows from knowing His voice, not seeking constant validation.Key Points:Why you don’t need multiple signs to obey GodThe subtle dangers of seeking signs as a spiritual habitReal faith is built on trust, not repeated confirmationUnderstanding the heart of God as a trustworthy FatherThe risk of depending on people rather than knowing God’s voice yourselfReflection Questions:Are you delaying obedience while waiting for another word or sign?Have you become dependent on others to confirm what God has already told you?Do you trust God enough to move even when there is no external confirmation?Scripture Focus:Judges 6:17–24God is worthy of your trust the first time. Do You Need A Sign From God?
In today’s episode, Tola continues walking us through Judges 6, focusing on Gideon’s request for a sign and what it means for modern believers, especially nurses navigating their own obedience journey. After being called a “mighty man of valor,” Gideon asks the angel of the Lord for confirmation. He wants a sign that this divine encounter is real. Gideon’s fear is honest. His need for assurance is relatable. But what begins as a desire for clarity can become a pattern of hesitation if we are not careful.Tola unpacks this important distinction. There is a difference between seeking God’s confirmation and becoming dependent on signs for every act of obedience. She shares how a desire for “one more word” or “one more prophecy” can stall your calling. For some, it becomes an addiction to spiritual reassurance that leads to delay, not devotion.Judges 6:17–21Gideon asks for a sign, prepares an offering, and witnesses fire from the rock as a response. This moment confirms his encounter with God, but it’s also the beginning of a pattern we must pay attention to.Be Cautious with Sign-SeekingGideon’s request for a sign is understandable, but Tola reminds us that constantly needing a sign before moving forward can delay your obedience. Many people stay stuck, waiting on a “word” or “confirmation,” when God has already spoken.Addiction to ProphecyTola challenges a common trap in faith circles: the habit of running from one prophet or preacher to another, hoping to hear a new word from God. She warns that this dependency can lead to delayed or disobedient lives. You do not need five confirmations to obey God.Train Yourself to Trust God’s VoiceTola shares her personal journey of learning to obey God immediately. She explains how the voice of God becomes clearer the more you obey. Delayed obedience often leads to spiritual dullness and uncertainty. Clarity increases with consistent obedience. When You Obey, the Holy Spirit Speaks More ClearlyOne of the most powerful takeaways from this episode is this: the more you obey, the clearer His voice becomes. But if you keep ignoring promptings, they become harder to discern. Tola challenges listeners to make a decision to obey God the first time.God Doesn’t Always Repeat HimselfIf you wait for the conditions to feel perfect or for another prophecy, you may miss the moment. Don’t let your hesitation rob you of God’s timing. Obedience positions you for divine encounters, clarity, and confirmation. Are you waiting for another sign when God has already spoken?Have you become dependent on confirmation before taking action? Is your disobedience making God’s voice harder to recognize? Are you willing to obey even when it’s uncomfortable or uncertain?God wants you to trust Him, not just the signs.Subscribe to Daily Devotionals for Nurses to keep growing in faith and spiritual strength, one episode at a time.Follow us on Instagram (@NursesOfFaith) and YouTube (@NursesOfFaith) for encouragement and faith-based tools for your personal and professional journey.Worship Nights for Nurses is happening on August 31 at 6 PM EST in Atlanta, GA. Obedience and the Help of the Holy Spirit
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues walking through Judges 6 and shares what it means to obey God even when you feel unqualified or uncertain.Tola reminds us that many nurses feel the same way when God places a calling on their hearts. They remember past disobedience, failures, or the weight of their circumstances and wonder, “Could God really use me?” This episode challenges that narrative and encourages you to lean on God for strength, not on your own perceived capacity.Tola also shares her own story of obedience. From launching the Year of the Nurse of Faith to leading summer school sessions for nurses, she shows how one yes leads to more clarity, new instructions, and provision. Even when things felt heavy or uncertain, God met her with grace and new opportunities.Gideon asked for a sign. Today, you have something even better. You have the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of truth is available to guide, comfort, and instruct you every step of the way.Judges 6:15–17“‘Oh my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest… and I am the least…’”“‘If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign…’”John 16:7, 13“It is to your advantage that I go away… when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth…”Obedience Despite InsecurityGideon felt unqualified, but he obeyed. The call of God is not based on your past. It is based on His purpose.Your Yes Unlocks the Next StepTola shares how one act of obedience led to more clarity, direction, and even income. When you say yes to God, He meets you with more than enough.Talk to God About the ResistanceWhen obedience feels hard, talk to God. Tell Him what you are experiencing. He already knows, and He wants to guide you through it.The Holy Spirit is Your HelperUnlike Gideon who needed a sign, you have the Holy Spirit. You are not alone in your calling. The Spirit of truth walks with you and speaks what the Father is saying.Vulnerability Creates BreakthroughWhen you open up about your struggle, others are freed to do the same. Stop Disqualifying Yourself
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the study of Judges 6 and explores the powerful response of God to Gideon’s doubts. After expressing his pain and questions in the last episode, Gideon hears a direct instruction from God: “Go in this might of yours… Have I not sent you?” (Judges 6:14).Rather than focus on the past or offer explanations, God commissions Gideon forward. But Gideon immediately responds with insecurity: “How can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest… and I am the least.” Despite the angel calling him a mighty man of valor, Gideon cannot see beyond his own history and self-perception.This episode dives into what it looks like when a person continues to see themselves through the lens of past pain, perceived weakness, or false humility. Tola challenges nurses and believers alike to stop disqualifying themselves from what God has assigned, simply because of how they feel or how others have labeled them.It is possible to walk with God and still carry unspoken insecurity. But it is not necessary to stay there.Judges 6:14–16“Go in this might of yours… Have I not sent you?”“O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”Isaiah 40:29“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”God Does Not Rehearse Your PastWhen Gideon asked, “Where are the miracles?” God didn’t start explaining. He gave an instruction. He called Gideon into purpose without rehearsing his mistakes or his nation’s history.Perceived Weakness Does Not Cancel Divine AssignmentGideon felt like the least and the weakest. Yet God still sent him. Self-doubt is not a reason for God to change His mind. It is an opportunity for you to change how you see yourself.Stop Living in the Old Version of YouMany people are still living according to the person they were years ago. That older version may have been timid, afraid, or overlooked. But growth in God requires shedding that identity and stepping into the person God has matured over time.God Is Not Looking for the Strongest, Just the ObedientIt was not Gideon’s strength that qualified him. It was God’s sending. The Lord gives strength to the weak and multiplies power to those with none. You do not have to be perfect to be chosen.False Humility Is a TrapSaying “I’m not enough” may sound humble, but when God has called and anointed you, that mindset becomes disobedience. Do not allow insecurity to rob you of assignment. Are you still seeing yourself through an old lens God has already outgrown? What excuse have you been using to delay your assignment?Have you been waiting to feel strong instead of stepping out in obedience?Have you prayed, “Lord, help me see myself the way You see me”?There is power available for the one who feels weak. There is strength for the one who feels overlooked. God is still sending, still anointing, still speaking. When Honesty Meets Calling
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the powerful walk through Judges 6, focusing on Gideon’s initial conversation with the angel of the Lord. When Gideon hears the words, “The Lord is with you, mighty man of valor,” his immediate response is honest and raw: “If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened?”This moment gives voice to a question many believers silently carry: Where is God in the hardship? Where are the miracles we’ve heard about?Tola invites us to explore what it means to come to God not with a rehearsed performance, but with true, heartfelt honesty. Just as Gideon didn’t sugarcoat his pain or questions, we too are invited to approach God as a loving Father. We can bring our hurts, doubts, and frustrations into real conversation with Him.Key ScriptureJudges 6:12–13“The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor… If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?”Call Yourself What God Calls YouDo not allow your situation to define you. Like Gideon, choose to speak God’s word over your life: faithful, fruitful, crowned with glory, and deeply loved.Approaching God HonestlyGideon’s courage to question did not disqualify him. This episode teaches that honesty is not rebellion, it is relationship. The Weight of ConsequencesSometimes we are living in the consequences of a broader context. It may not be your fault, but God still sees you and calls you by name.Let Go of Pretend HonorSome believers avoid real honesty with God in the name of reverence. But false humility and emotional suppression will not heal your heart. Real healing starts when you say, “God, I don’t understand. Help me.”God Can Handle Your QuestionsWhether you are serving God in the middle of broken systems or carrying the weight of unanswered prayers, you can bring it all to Him. He is not offended by your need for answers. He is your Father.Have you been pretending everything is fine while hiding deep disappointment with God?Are you willing to talk to God today as a Father who listens and cares, even when you do not understand?Do you need to release resentment that is quietly holding you back?God is not intimidated by your honesty. See Yourself the Way God Sees You
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues our study in Judges 6, focusing on Gideon’s encounter with the angel of the Lord. Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress. He was working in an unexpected place during a time of oppression when the angel appeared and called him a “mighty man of valor.”Tola points out that the angel didn’t address Gideon by his current situation or limitations. He didn’t call him “a man hiding from the Midianites” or “an oppressed Israelite.” Instead, he spoke to Gideon’s God-given identity and destiny. This was both a declaration of truth and a prophetic word about who Gideon already was in God’s eyes. The same is true for us. Our present circumstances, challenges, or feelings do not define who we are. Whether you’re facing obstacles in leadership, waiting for a breakthrough, or navigating a difficult season, God’s Word has already named and defined you. You are who He says you are, no matter what you see in the natural.Tola encourages listeners to speak God’s truth over themselves daily, using Scripture as both affirmation and prophecy. Passages like Psalm 8:5, which says we are crowned with glory and honor, remind us of our royal identity in Christ. When you know who you are, you won’t exchange your crown for anything less than God’s best.Key Scriptures: Judges 6:12, Psalm 8:5, Psalm 103Listen & Be EncouragedJoin Tola in this episode to be reminded of your identity in Christ. Don’t Wait for Perfect Conditions
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola reminds us that we don’t have to wait for everything to be “just right” before we step out and act. Looking at Judges 6, we see Gideon threshing wheat in the winepress, not sitting idly or waiting for the perfect moment, but working with what he had, right where he was.Tola shares how our daily actions speak louder than our words about what we truly believe. Nurses of Faith was created for this very reason to help us move beyond head knowledge and into an active, visible faith that shows up in how we live, serve, and lead.Drawing from Proverbs 8:12, we are reminded that God gives us the knowledge of witty inventions, creative, God-given solutions for seemingly impossible situations. Just like Gideon, we can pray for wisdom and innovation, trusting that God will give us fresh strategies to move forward.Tola also makes a powerful connection to Newton’s first law of motion: objects in motion tend to stay in motion. When we’re actively seeking growth, looking for ways to serve, and moving forward, it’s easier for God to redirect us. But when we remain still, stuck, or unwilling to move, it often takes much more effort to respond to His call. The message is clear: start moving. Even if the steps are small, even if the situation feels hidden or imperfect , like Gideon keep working, keep believing, and keep showing up. God often chooses those already in motion to carry out His plans.Key Scripture: Judges 6, Proverbs 8:12Listen & Be EncouragedJoin Tola for this empowering episode and be reminded that help is on the way. Excellence in Imperfect Situations
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the study of Judges 6, exploring the powerful encounter between Gideon and the angel of the Lord. After the Israelites cried out to God for deliverance from Midianite oppression, God sent a prophet with a word before the breakthrough and then called Gideon as part of the answer to their prayers. We meet Gideon threshing wheat in a wine press, an unusual place for such work, but a strategic move to hide his harvest from the enemy. His ingenuity and determination reveal a critical lesson: even in less-than-ideal circumstances, we can continue to work faithfully and show up with excellence.Tola draws a parallel between Gideon’s actions and our own responses to imperfect situations, whether at work, in leadership, financially, or in personal life. She challenges believers not to wait for perfection before taking action, but to keep working with the grace and strength God provides. Our words, attitudes, and actions in seasons of difficulty reflect the depth of our faith. If we claim to believe in a God who rescues, we must act like it, living in a way that demonstrates trust in His power, even when conditions are far from perfect.Key Scripture:Judges 6:11–12 – “Now the angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, ‘The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!’”Key Points:Faith in Action: Gideon was working and finding ways to survive even before his calling was revealed.Excellence in Imperfection: Your character is revealed in how you show up when conditions aren’t ideal.Kingdom Mindset: Live and act as though you believe God will deliver you, let your actions align with your faith.Practical Application: Stop waiting for perfect conditions before stepping into what God has called you to do.Reflection Questions:How do you respond in less-than-ideal circumstances? Are your words, attitudes, and actions consistent with your faith in God?In what ways can you demonstrate excellence today, even if your environment is imperfect?Listen & Subscribe:Tune in to this encouraging episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses to be reminded that God can call you right in the middle of your “wine press” moments. The Word Before The Breakthrough (2)
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the journey through Judges 6, focusing on what happens after God’s people cry out for help. We see that before the breakthrough came, God first sent a word through a prophet. This word reminded Israel of who God is, what He had done for them, and reassured them not to be afraid.Tola emphasizes the importance of remembering God’s faithfulness, both in your personal life and in Scripture. One of the most practical ways to do this is by recording His works through journaling or voice notes. Writing down answered prayers, miracles, and seasons of God’s help not only keeps your gratitude alive but also strengthens your faith when you face new challenges. She encourages listeners to reflect on times when God rescued them, even in moments when they were undeserving. Like Israel, we may be tempted to forget His goodness when we are in need again, but recalling His past faithfulness builds confidence in His future deliverance. This episode is both a reminder and an invitation: after repentance and crying out to God, set your focus on what He will do next. Expect His help, be open to His instructions, and trust that He hears you, even if His answer comes in an unexpected form.Key Scriptures:Judges 6:8–10 – God sends a prophet to remind Israel of His deliverance and instruct them not to fear.Key Points:Journaling and recording testimonies help you remember God’s past faithfulness.God often sends a word before the breakthrough.Remembering who God is builds faith for what is to come. The first step after crying out is to look forward with expectation.Listen to Episode 36 now on Daily Devotionals for Nurses to be reminded of God’s unchanging faithfulness and to prepare your heart for the word that comes before your breakthrough. The Word Before the Breakthrough
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the journey through Judges 6 and reveals a powerful truth: sometimes, before God brings your breakthrough, He sends you a word. After the children of Israel cried out to God in their oppression, the Lord sent them a prophet, not immediately to change their situation, but to remind them of His past faithfulness and deliverance. This “word before the breakthrough” was meant to stir their faith, renew their gratitude, and realign their hearts before the victory came.Tola challenges listeners to keep a record of God’s faithfulness through journals, notes, or even voice recordings, because it is human nature to forget. Forgetfulness can lead to resentment, disobedience, and discouragement. But remembering God’s past goodness fuels gratitude, strengthens faith, and prepares us to receive what He has next.In this episode, you’ll discover:Why God sometimes sends a reminder before sending the breakthrough. How gratitude protects you from resentment and spiritual forgetfulness. The importance of keeping a record of God’s miracles, answers, and deliverance. How remembering God’s past work builds faith for today’s challenges.Key Scripture: Judges 6:8-9 – God sent a prophet to remind Israel of His deliverance from Egypt and all who oppressed them.Reflection Questions:When was the last time you stopped to recall what God has already done for you? What could you put in place today to record His faithfulness and guard against forgetfulness? Is there a situation in your life right now where you need to remember His past victories before you see the breakthrough?Key Reminder:Your cry to God is a weapon—but so is your remembrance. Before the answer comes, God may give you a word to strengthen you for what’s ahead.🎧 Listen to Episode 36 now to be reminded of God’s unchanging goodness and be encouraged to hold on until your breakthrough comes.📲 Subscribe to the Daily Devotionals for Nurses podcast so you never miss an episode that refreshes your spirit and deepens your walk with God.📌 Follow Nurses of Faith on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube @nursesoffaith

Your Spiritual Weapon in Times of Oppression
In this episode of Daily Devotionals for Nurses, Tola continues the journey through Judges 6, moving from the consequences of disobedience to the powerful moment when Israel cried out to the Lord. After experiencing deep poverty and oppression at the hands of the Midianites and other enemies, the nation collectively turned their voices toward God—and He answered.Tola emphasizes that revival must be built on the right foundation. It is not enough to want change; we must repent and turn from the disobedience that opened the door in the first place. She reminds listeners that crying out to God is not a sign of weakness but a spiritual weapon that acknowledges His sovereignty over every circumstance. This episode challenges you to not only repent and seek God for yourself but also to intercede on behalf of your family, community, and nation. Whether the struggle you face is the result of personal choices, national disobedience, or leadership decisions beyond your control, there is always power in lifting your voice to the Lord.Key Scriptures:Judges 6:6-7 – “The children of Israel cried out to the Lord… and the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel.”Key Points:Revival requires the right foundation. Do not rebuild on old patterns of sin or disobedience.Crying out to God is a spiritual weapon that invites His intervention.Personal repentance is important, but collective repentance can shift nations.God responds to the cries of His people with direction, deliverance, and hope.Avoid the trap of self-pity; it solves nothing and keeps you stuck.Reflection Questions:Are there areas in your life where you’ve been silent instead of crying out to God?How can you incorporate both personal and corporate prayer for repentance in your daily walk?Do you truly believe that God hears and responds when you call on Him?🎧 Listen to Episode 35 now on your favorite podcast platform to be encouraged, equipped, and reminded of the power of crying out to God.📲 Subscribe to the Daily Devotionals for Nurses podcast so you never miss an episode that strengthens your faith.📌 Follow Nurses of Faith on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube [@nursesoffaith] .

When Disobedience Opens The Door 2
In this episode, Tola continues the study in Judges 6 by examining the consequences of Israel’s disobedience. After recognizing that their disobedience had opened the door to oppression, the children of Israel experienced not just trouble from the Midianites but also multiplied attacks from the Amalekites and the people of the East. These enemies devastated everything—destroying crops, livestock, and leaving no sustenance for Israel.Tola draws a clear connection between the open door of disobedience and the multiplied consequences that can follow, both for individuals and for nations. She challenges listeners to start with self-examination, acknowledging where they may have ignored God’s warnings, and to cry out for His mercy and help. This episode is a call to recognize the true cost of disobedience and to turn back to God before the losses become greater.Key Scriptures:Judges 6:1-6 — Israel’s disobedience leads to seven years of oppression and devastation at the hands of multiple enemies.Key Points:Disobedience Opens the Door: One wrong choice can give access to more than you bargained for.Consequences Multiply: What begins as one source of trouble can quickly expand into many if the door remains open.Self-Examination is Critical: Before pointing fingers at others or at national issues, start by asking God to reveal personal areas of disobedience.God’s Mercy is Available: No matter how far the consequences have gone, turning back to God can bring restoration.Reflection Questions:Are there areas in your life where you’ve ignored God’s red flags? Can you identify consequences you’re facing now that may be tied to past disobedience? What steps can you take today to close the door to further destruction and walk in obedience?Listen & Connect:🎧 Tune in to Episode 34 of Daily Devotionals for Nurses on your favorite podcast platform.📲 Subscribe so you never miss an episode.📌 Follow Nurses of Faith on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube @nursesoffaith.

When Disobedience Opens the Door
Thank you for listening to Daily Devotionals for Nurses. In our last episode, we wrapped up our study of Psalm 142 and began shifting from the story of one man crying out to God to the power of a collective cry. Today, we step fully into Judges 6—a chapter that begins not with prayer, but with a problem. Before Israel cried out to God, they first had to face the truth: their disobedience had opened the door to oppression. Judges 6:1 tells us, “Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years.”This wasn’t just one person’s mistake. It was an entire nation turning away from God. And it’s a reminder for us, both individually and collectively, that sometimes the struggles we face are connected to choices we’ve made or warnings we’ve ignored. In this episode, you’ll discover:Why acknowledging the root cause of a struggle is essential before seeking God’s intervention. How disobedience can open the door to unnecessary battles and seasons of hardship. The power of repentance as the first step toward revival. Why honesty before God brings freedom and positions you for restoration.Key Reminder:God’s desire is always to redeem, restore, and revive His people. But before we can experience that, we must be willing to say, “Lord, I see where I went wrong. Forgive me.” There’s no shame in admitting the truth in His presence. As nurses, leaders, and women of faith, it’s easy to push past warning signs in pursuit of the next thing whether it’s a relationship, a job opportunity, or a personal goal. But the lesson from Judges 6 is clear: stop, listen, and align with God’s voice before you move. When we humble ourselves, turn back to Him, and acknowledge our need, we open the door for His mercy and His miraculous intervention.🎧 Listen to Episode 33 now on your favorite podcast platform and be encouraged to take the first step toward breakthrough.📲 Subscribe to the Daily Devotionals for Nurses podcast so you never miss an episode that strengthens your faith.📌 Follow Nurses of Faith on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube @nursesoffaith for daily encouragement and mindset inspiration.

The Shift from Silence to Strength
Over the last several episodes, we’ve been journeying through Psalm 142 and 1 Samuel 21–22, learning powerful lessons from David’s time in the cave—his season of isolation, fear, and uncertainty. We’ve seen how David didn’t suffer in silence but instead cried out to God for help, poured out his heart, and eventually began to prophesy over his situation. This episode wraps up our focus on personal revival and begins to shift us into a new perspective: What happens when a people—not just a person—cry out to God?As we reflect on Psalm 142:David teaches us that your cave season is not the end. There is power in using your voice, even when it feels like no one else understands.Prophesying over your life while still in the struggle is a declaration of faith in the God who revives, restores, and delivers. Now, we transition from the personal to the collective. We begin to look at Judges 6, where we’ll explore how a whole nation cried out to God. What happens when families, communities, or even nations stop suffering in silence and begin to seek God's face together? In this episode, you’ll learn:The importance of not allowing shame, fear, or struggle to keep you from seeking help. That God can use both trusted individuals and spiritual community to bring healing and solutions. How collective prayer can shift atmospheres and usher in revival. Why acknowledging the pain and calling out to God is the first step toward divine intervention.Key Reminder:There is nothing you are going through that God cannot handle. And there is no situation beyond the reach of His presence and power. But it all starts with refusing to be silent. As nurses, leaders, mothers, sisters, and believers, we are not meant to suffer alone or carry silent burdens. Whether in the workplace, at home, or in your personal life—your cry matters. And when we lift our voices together, revival isn’t just possible—it’s promised.🎧 Tune in to Episode 32 now on your favorite podcast platform and be refreshed, reminded, and restored.📲 Subscribe to the Daily Devotionals for Nurses podcast so you never miss an episode that strengthens your walk with God.📌 Follow Nurses of Faith on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube [@nursesoffaith] for encouragement, updates and inspiration.

Don't Forget Who You Are
In this episode, Tola continues exploring Psalm 142, focusing on verse 7 where David transitions from crying out for help to prophesying over his own life. From the cave of Adullam to a place of leadership, David models how vulnerability before God can lead to restored confidence and renewed purpose.Tola connects this with 1 Samuel 22, reminding us that even in isolation and difficulty, God is still writing our story. David was not only delivered—he was raised up again as a leader of hundreds. The very cave where he sought refuge became the place where his leadership was reignited.Key Takeaways:David asked God to bring him out of prison so he could praise again.Even in pain, speak life over your situation—confess, praise, and prophesy.David’s cry became a catalyst for community—those in distress came to him.Don’t forget your past victories. The enemy wants you to forget what God has already done through you.Your cave is not your conclusion. It might just be your training ground for the next assignment.Scripture Focus:Psalm 142:7 (KJV & AMPC)1 Samuel 22:1-2Nurse’s Reflection:As a nurse, leader, or caregiver, you may find yourself isolated or overwhelmed. Don't Stay Silent - Get Help
In this episode, Tola continues the reflection on Psalm 142, exploring the real-life situation that led David to write this heartfelt prayer while hiding in the cave of Adullam. She takes us back to 1 Samuel 21–22, where David was running for his life from King Saul, and draws powerful parallels to the silent struggles many nurses face today—whether in the workplace, at home, or within.Tola reminds us that while hardship and chaos may tempt us to isolate, the key to breakthrough is found in our willingness to cry out to God. We have access to a sovereign King who hears and answers when we speak.Key Themes:David’s prayer in the cave came from a place of desperation, but also from faith.Real revival and healing begin with raw, honest prayers.Silence in the face of suffering allows the enemy to win ground—but your voice is a weapon.Just as David shifted from despair to praise, so can you—if you first choose to speak.God has the authority to grant your requests, but you must come forward and ask.Scripture Focus:Psalm 142:1–7"I cried to you, O Lord. I said, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living… Bring my life out of prison, that I may confess and praise Your name..."Takeaway:Don’t let your trouble silence you. She challenges nurses and listeners everywhere to break free from the silence that so often accompanies seasons of pain, pressure, or uncertainty.Using Psalm 142 in the AMPC version, Tola unpacks the value of opening your mouth and speaking freely to God about what you’re going through—the good, the bad, and the in-between. Revival: Saved From The Pit
Rerun Episode Summary:In today’s episode, Tola focuses on spiritual revival as part of the journey of asking God for help. Reflecting on Psalm 40:2 and 2 Peter 3:9, she encourages listeners to trust in God’s promises, even in times of spiritual desolation or turmoil. Tola shares her personal experiences of feeling distant from God and reminds listeners that no matter how far they feel they’ve fallen, God is always ready to restore, renew, and revive. Key Takeaways: Understanding Spiritual Desolation: Spiritual desolation feels like being trapped in a “horrible pit” or “miry clay,” where progress seems impossible, and God feels distant. This can stem from slow obedience, ignoring God’s instructions, or life circumstances that leave you feeling spiritually drained. God’s Promise of Restoration: 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that God is patient and does not want anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance. No matter how shattered your faith feels, it can be restored, renewed, and revived through God’s love and mercy. Practical Steps Toward Spiritual Revival: Call Out to God: Ask for His help, acknowledging your need for Him. Pray God’s Word: Use Scripture as your prayer, such as Psalm 40:1-2 or Psalm 103. Read Your Bible: Feed your spirit with God’s promises and truth, even when you don’t feel like it. Believe Beyond Your Emotions: Trust God’s Word more than your feelings, knowing He is faithful to His promises. Reflection Questions: Are you in a place of spiritual desolation or feeling distant from God? How can you turn to God’s Word as a lifeline in your journey toward spiritual revival? Practical Application: Take time to pray Psalm 40:1-2, inserting yourself into the text: “Lord, draw me out of this horrible pit. Set my feet on solid ground.” Reflect on 2 Peter 3:9 and trust that God is patient, loving, and ready to restore you. Use a passage like Psalm 103 to remind yourself of God’s benefits and promises, turning them into personal prayers. Closing Encouragement:No matter how deep the spiritual pit you’re in, God is ready to rescue you. Trust in His promises, call out for His help, and turn to His Word for guidance and strength. He is not slow about His promises and desires to restore, renew, and revive your spiritual life. You are loved, valued, and not alone. Revival: Saved From The Pit (2)
Replay Episode Summary: In this episode, Tola continues the discussion on Revival with a focus on the dangers of isolation and the importance of asking God and others for help. Reflecting on Psalm 40:2, she compares the “miry clay” to sinking sand, a place where the more you struggle alone, the deeper you sink. Tola highlights the significance of community, spiritual companionship, and God’s unfailing presence in helping you escape from despair, confusion, and emotional exhaustion. Key Takeaways: The Miry Clay as Sinking Sand: A metaphor for being trapped in a hopeless situation, where struggling alone only worsens the condition. It represents emotional, spiritual, or physical exhaustion that requires external help. The Danger of Isolation: Isolation leaves you vulnerable to the enemy, who waits for you to tire out to strike. Without community, support, or God’s guidance, it becomes easier to remain stuck in despair or disorder. The Importance of Asking for Help: God is always ready to provide a lifeline, but you must first call out to Him for mercy and guidance. Surround yourself with a supportive community, like the Nurses of Faith Academy, where others can pray with and for you. Steps to Escape the Pit: Call Out to God: Ask for His help and mercy with sincerity and trust. Engage Your Community: Reach out to trusted friends, mentors, or spiritual leaders for support. Stay Connected: Avoid spiritual isolation and invest in relationships that sharpen and encourage you. Reflection Questions: Are you feeling stuck or isolated in a situation where you need help? Have you reached out to God or others for support, or are you trying to handle it alone? Practical Application: Spend time in prayer, asking God for His mercy and help to lift you out of the “miry clay.” Identify people in your life who can offer support, prayer, or mentorship and reach out to them. If you’re in the healthcare field, consider joining the Nurses of Faith Academy for community and spiritual guidance. Closing Encouragement:You are not meant to do life alone. Episode Summary:In today’s episode, Tola continues the discussion on revival and the importance of the training season we experience when the Lord brings us out of the “miry clay” and sets our feet on the rock. Drawing from Psalm 40:2 and Psalm 144:2, Tola emphasizes how God uses this season to teach us obedience, grow our discernment, and equip us to help others. Key Takeaways: The High Tower and Training: God serves as a fortress and high tower, guiding and training us for spiritual battles. Just like a watchtower guards and warns of approaching danger, God enhances our discernment during this season. Discernment Grows Through Obedience: Being obedient in small daily tasks sharpens your ability to discern God’s voice and direction. This obedience prepares you for greater responsibilities and helps you assist others in your community. The Necessity of Spiritual Training: Spiritual growth requires active participation—reading, meditating on, and practicing the Word of God. You cannot rely on others to do the work for you; your spiritual renewal and transformation come from your personal time with God. Practical Application of the Word: The Word of God reshapes our thinking, challenges past traumas, and equips us for effective service. Revival begins when we align our minds and actions with God’s will, allowing Him to mold us into His image. Reflection Questions: Are you dedicating consistent time to reading and meditating on God’s Word? How can you practice obedience in the small things God is prompting you to do? In what areas is God training you to grow in discernment and spiritual strength? Encouragement for the Week:The Lord is your fortress, your high tower, and your rock. Embrace this training season as a time of renewal and preparation. Trust that as God trains you, He is equipping you to bring revival to your life and the lives of those around you. Action Steps: Meditate on Psalm 144 and reflect on how God is equipping you for spiritual growth. Write down practical ways you can obey God’s guidance in your daily life. She highlights the significance of the Lord as our rock and how He serves as our fortress and high tower. This episode focuses on how God equips us with discernment and clarity during our training season, preparing us to navigate life’s challenges with spiritual insight. Key Takeaways: God as Our Fortress and High Tower: A fortress symbolizes strength and protection, a place where training and preparation occur. The high tower represents vigilance and discernment, providing warnings and guidance like a spiritual “satellite.” The Role of Discernment in Training: Discernment is a spiritual “warning system” that alerts you to potential pitfalls and guides you in making wise decisions. As you grow in obedience to the Holy Spirit, your discernment becomes sharper and more precise. Drawing from Psalm 40:2 and Psalm 144:1, she explores the symbolic significance of God as our Rock who trains us for battle and equips us for both the small and large challenges in life. Tola reminds us that revival is not just about restoration but preparation for what’s ahead. Key Takeaways: The Rock as a Training Ground: Psalm 144:1 describes God as the Rock who trains our hands for war and our fingers for battle. The Rock signifies stability and preparation for the battles and wars in life. Hands for War, Fingers for Battle: Hands represent readiness for the bigger, long-term challenges (wars). Fingers represent precision for smaller, day-to-day actions (battles). Both require intentional training to align with God’s plans and purpose. Training Requires Partnership with God: Revival brings opportunities and responsibilities that require spiritual, emotional, and practical preparation. Spend time in God’s Word, seek His guidance, and obey His instructions to navigate both the small and large challenges in life. Obedience as a Key to Training: Obedience to God’s leading is one of the most significant ways He trains us. Being open to God’s direction positions you to handle both immediate challenges and long-term plans effectively. Reflection Questions: Are you open to the training God is putting you through right now? How can you partner with God in your current season to prepare for the battles and wars ahead? Practical Application: Spend time daily in God’s Word, asking for clarity on the specific training He is leading you through. Reflect on both the small and large challenges in your life and seek God’s guidance on how to approach them. Be intentional about obedience in your current season, trusting that God’s preparation is equipping you for success. Closing Encouragement:God, as your Rock, is equipping you to handle the battles and wars in your life. Revival is here, and He is preparing you to make a lasting impact. Revival: Why Do You Need Help (2)
Episode Summary:In this episode, Tola continues discussing Revival with a focus on recognizing why you need God’s help. Reflecting on Psalm 40:2, "He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings," Tola delves into the concept of destruction—both physical and emotional—and its effects on our lives. She reminds listeners that no matter how broken or beyond repair a situation may feel, God is able to restore, repair, and revive. Key Takeaways: Understanding Destruction: Destruction can manifest in various forms—emotional, physical, financial, or relational—and aims to make us feel beyond repair. Synonyms like demolition, dismantling, and shattering highlight the devastating impact of destruction. The Goal of Destruction: Destruction seeks to convince you that restoration is impossible. It aims to leave you feeling stuck, hopeless, and unable to move forward. The Promise of Revival: Psalm 40:2 promises that God lifts us out of destruction and sets us on solid ground. Revival is here—spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial. God can rebuild what was thought to be lost forever. Examples of God’s Power: The Bible reminds us of Jesus’ ability to heal the blind, the lame, and the sick. The saying, “What God cannot do does not exist,” reinforces that no situation is beyond His power. Reflection Questions: Are there areas in your life where destruction has made you feel hopeless or beyond repair? How can you trust God to bring revival to those areas? Practical Application: Reflect on Psalm 40:1-2 and pray for God’s restoration in the areas where you feel broken. Identify specific areas—emotional, financial, physical, or spiritual—where you need revival and bring them before God. Meditate on God’s promise to repair and re-establish what has been damaged or lost. Closing Encouragement:Destruction may aim to make you feel stuck and beyond repair, but God specializes in restoration and revival. Revival: Why Do You Need Help
Episode Summary:In today’s episode, Tola continues exploring the theme of Revival and focuses on why we need to ask God for help. Drawing from Psalm 40:2, she unpacks what it means to be in a “horrible pit” and explains why recognizing your need for God’s intervention is the first step toward revival. Tola encourages listeners to reflect on their lives and identify areas where they’ve been stuck for so long that they’ve forgotten what freedom and release look like. Key Takeaways: Psalm 40:2 as a Foundation: "He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." A “horrible pit” represents a situation that is dreadful, grim, confusing, or beyond one’s control. Recognizing the Pit: The pit could symbolize emotional, spiritual, or relational struggles that leave you feeling stuck, confused, or overwhelmed. Synonyms for “horrible” like dreadful, vile, and insufferable highlight the weight of these situations. You Cannot Do It Alone: A pit is often too deep to escape on your own. Acknowledging the need for help is the first step toward revival. Whether your struggles involve confusion, disorder, or turbulence, God is ready to lift you out and set your feet on solid ground. Reflection Questions: Are there areas in your life where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unable to move forward? Have you asked God for help in these areas, trusting Him to bring you out of the “pit”? Practical Application: Take time to reflect on the “pits” in your life—whether emotional, spiritual, or circumstantial. Pray Psalm 40:2 and ask God to lift you out, steady your steps, and establish your goings. Journal about the areas where you need revival and cry out to God for His intervention. Closing Encouragement:You don’t have to stay in the pit. Recognizing your need for help and crying out to God is the beginning of your breakthrough. He is a faithful God who hears your cry and is ready to lift you out of the confusion, turbulence, and despair. Trust Him to set your feet on solid ground and lead you into a place of stability and peace. Revival: Asking God For Help (3)
Episode Summary:In today’s episode, Tola continues exploring the theme of Revival, focusing on the power of crying out to God for help. Drawing from Psalm 40:1-2, she unpacks what it means to cry out earnestly to God, emphasizing the importance of letting go of pride, shame, and fear to fully depend on Him. Tola encourages listeners to embrace vulnerability in their relationship with God, reminding them that their cries are heard and responded to by a loving Father who inclines toward His children. Key Takeaways: God’s Inclination Toward Us: Psalm 40:1 shows that when we cry out, God leans favorably toward us, hearing our cry and responding with compassion. To “incline” means to lean toward, to show attention, and to favor—this is how God responds when we ask for help. The Power of Crying Out: Crying out is a deliberate act of increasing the “pitch” of our request, symbolizing urgency and dependence. Just as a baby’s cry captures attention, our cry to God draws His loving response. Letting Go of Barriers to Asking for Help: Don’t let pride, shame, or fear prevent you from crying out to God. Crying out is not a sign of weakness; it’s a necessary step toward revival and restoration. Reflection Questions: Are you holding back from asking God for help because of pride or fear? What specific area of your life needs you to cry out to God today? Practical Application: Meditate on Psalm 40:1-2 and reflect on God’s promise to incline toward you and hear your cry. Take time to pray earnestly, pouring out your heart to God and asking for His help in the areas where you need revival. Embrace the vulnerability of crying out, knowing it is met with God’s love and compassion. Closing Encouragement:Your cries are not ignored—they are heard by a God who leans in with favor and compassion. Don’t let pride or shame hold you back. Cry out to Him today. Revival begins when we acknowledge our need for Him and boldly ask for help. Stay Connected: Subscribe to the Daily Devotionals for Nurses Podcast for more encouragement and practical insights. Revival: Asking God For Help (2)
Episode Summary:In this episode, Tola dives deeper into the theme of Revival by focusing on Psalm 40:1, "I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined to me and heard my cry." She explores the challenges many face when asking God for help, including feelings of rejection, fear, and shame. Tola encourages listeners to shift their perspective on waiting—viewing it as an act of trust and anticipation in God’s timing. Key Takeaways: Waiting Patiently and Expectantly: Biblical waiting involves trusting, hoping, and actively seeking God’s presence while having faith in His timing. God’s word of revival is a promise to restore every area of our lives. Overcoming Barriers to Asking for Help: Past experiences of unanswered prayers or perceived rejection may hinder us from asking God for help. Fear of the process or shame of not yet receiving what we’ve prayed for can also create resistance. The Importance of Expectant Waiting: Waiting expectantly means believing that God is in control and that His plans for us are good. Let go of past disappointments and trust that God hears your cry and that He is working for your good. Reflection Questions: Are past experiences or fears preventing you from asking God for help? How can you shift your perspective on waiting, from frustration to hopeful anticipation? Practical Application: Meditate on Psalm 40:1 and reflect on what it means to wait patiently and expectantly for God. Identify any barriers—shame, fear, or disappointment—that may be holding you back from asking God for help. Pray for the courage to trust in God’s process and timing, releasing past experiences to Him. Closing Encouragement:The waiting room is not a place of rejection but a place where God prepares you for what’s to come. Let go of fear and shame, and approach this year with hopeful anticipation of the revival God has promised. Trust that He hears your cry and will respond in His perfect timing. Revival: Asking God For Help
Episode 7 Summary:In this episode, Tola builds on the 2025 theme of Revival, focusing on the importance of acknowledging our need for help and crying out to God for it. Drawing from Romans 8:26-27, she explains how the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weaknesses, prompting us to examine the areas of our lives that need revival. Tola reminds listeners that asking for help is the first step toward real change and transformation. Key Takeaways: The Role of the Holy Spirit in Revival: Romans 8:26-27 reminds us that the Spirit intercedes for us, helping us in our weaknesses and guiding us toward alignment with God’s will. Revival begins with self-examination, prompted by the Holy Spirit, to identify the areas in our lives that are not responding to God. Acknowledge Your Need for Help: Crying out to God for help is an act of humility and acknowledgment of our human frailty. Just as patients in healthcare must accept the treatment plan, we must accept God’s help to bring revival to our lives. Revival Is for Everyone: Revival isn’t just for one area of life—it’s needed in our homes, careers, relationships, and personal walk with God. It’s an act of intercession when the Holy Spirit calls us to examine and revive the areas that are "dead" or unresponsive to God’s will. Are You Ready for Real Change? Asking for help is the first sign you’re ready for revival. Real change requires more than just acknowledgment—it requires a willingness to act and accept God’s guidance. Reflection Questions: Are there areas of your life that you’ve recognized as needing revival? Have you asked God for help in those areas? Practical Application: Spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal areas that need revival. Use Romans 8:26-27 as a guide in your prayers:“Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses… He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Be open to God’s guidance and ready to take action as He leads you toward real change. Closing Encouragement:Revival begins with acknowledging your need for help and crying out to God. The Holy Spirit is ready to intercede on your behalf and guide you through the process of transformation. Don’t just recognize the symptoms—take the next step and accept the help God is offering. Revival: Reviving The Heart (3)
In Episode 6, Tola continues the series on Revival, focusing on the revival of the heart and addressing the deceptive nature of the human heart as highlighted in Jeremiah 17:9-10. Drawing from her own experiences and reflections, Tola discusses how the symptoms of a spiritually dead or broken heart manifest in our lives and the dangers of ignoring these signs. She encourages listeners to turn to God for mercy, seek alignment with His will, and allow Him to perform the necessary spiritual CPR to restore their hearts. Key Takeaways: The Deceptive Nature of the Heart: Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it?" Even when redeemed, parts of our hearts that remain hidden from God can lead to misalignment with His will. Symptoms of a Heart Out of Alignment: Persistent grief, pain, or trauma that shapes our behavior. Blaming God or feeling victimized by life’s challenges. Emotional detachment, lack of motivation, or burnout from overextending ourselves. Ignoring the need for help while attempting to pour out of an empty cup. The Call for Revival: Be honest with God about the hidden or broken parts of your heart. Seek God’s mercy and ask Him to search and revive your heart according to His lovingkindness (Psalm 119:154). Open yourself to the healing process, even when it feels difficult or uncomfortable. Reflection Questions: Are there areas of your heart that you’ve been hiding from God? What steps can you take today to ask for God’s help and mercy in reviving those areas? Practical Application: Pray Jeremiah 17:10: "I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." Reflect on your heart’s condition—what symptoms or behaviors are showing misalignment with God’s will? Be open and willing to let God perform the spiritual CPR needed to revive and restore your heart. Closing Encouragement:Your heart’s condition shapes every aspect of your life. Ignoring its symptoms can lead to deeper spiritual, emotional, and physical consequences. Choose today to open your heart to God, asking Him to revive and align it with His will. Remember, God searches your heart and knows what you need even before you ask—trust Him to restore you. Revival: Reviving The Heart (2)
In this episode, Tola goes deeper into the 2025 theme of Revival, focusing on the symptoms of a spiritually broken or “dead” heart. Drawing from Psalm 119:154, "Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word," and Proverbs 4:23, "Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the springs of life," Tola guides listeners through self-reflection, helping them identify spiritual heart blockages and inviting them to seek God’s help for revival and restoration. Key Takeaways: Recognizing the Symptoms of a Heart That Needs Revival: Lingering sadness, grief, or stress. Withdrawal from social activities or relationships. Feelings of failure, especially after unmet expectations in career or personal life. Negative self-talk or criticism of others. Jealousy or cynicism toward others’ happiness. Lack of motivation, purpose, or emotional connection. The Impact of a Broken Heart: A spiritually damaged heart cannot “pump” life to other areas, preventing the flow of abundance, blessings, and purpose. Revival is essential for restoring the heart’s ability to thrive and impact other parts of life. Practical and Spiritual Steps Toward Revival: Cry out to God in prayer, using scripture as a foundation: Reflect on Proverbs 4:23, guarding your heart and allowing God to shape your thoughts and actions. Seek community support through prayer, counseling, or therapy. Reflection Questions: Are you noticing any symptoms of a spiritually broken heart in your life? How can you open your heart to God and seek revival in the areas that feel blocked or damaged? Practical Application: Spend time in prayer, asking God to revive your heart according to His word. Meditate on Proverbs 4:23 and evaluate how you are guarding your heart and thoughts. Join a supportive community like the Nurses of Faith Academy to connect with others, share your struggles, and find encouragement in prayer and fellowship. Closing Encouragement:Revival starts with acknowledging the broken areas of your heart and turning to God for help.
