She is working to protect Big Cats in her home country Zambia. Our students wanted to share words of encouragement and inspiration after learning about her story!

Today Deal students embodied the essence of service-learning during our annual #DealGivesBack. Join 100 6th grade students and teachers in Freedom Plaza for the #Heart4thehomeless rally as we march around the DC Council and Mayor's Office to raise awareness for issues relating to homelessness in DC. Then listen-in to the 6th grade basketball fundraiser tournament! These are only a portion of the amazing community service projects that over 1,000 Deal students participated in today across DC! Inspired by an assembly visit from the artists of the Mars Urban Arts Initiative who created the sounds of Silk Road cities with their music, our students remixed their own creation of the sounds of Tenleytown!
