Defeating the Curse (DTC)

Finally... it is out and available to hear... Offseason Movie Club 26 featuring FP, Joe, and making his debut... Crabcake! One lad has never seen Desperado (how is that possible), two gents had never seen Greenbook, and all three hosts sat down to watch The Wrecking Crew for the first time before gathering to share their thoughts on all three. THIS was worth the wait. OMC26 is here!

FP and Joe are in studio discussing what was and what might have been regarding the US National Team and what the defeat at the hands (feet) of the Belgians means for US soccer. Cape Verde stole our hearts but VAR saved Argentina... twice... and what are we supposed to do without footy as the end draws near. 

The World Cup has captured everyone's attention.. even FPs. Is there a bigger or more pressure filled moment in sports than taking penalty kicks for your country in front of 100,000 people? We saw it TWICE in the same day... plus, Joe is begging the Warriors to trade for AD and to sign LeBron... the Capitals are re-loading fast.. and well, in general... what a great time to be alive! Happy 4th of July! Happy 250 America!

FP, Andy, and Joe are in studio watching and reacting to the NBA Draft LIVE as it happens. They are also trying to figure out what happens next for the Miami Heat as they completed a massive trade, AND they jump back into the World Cup as the round of second matches end and we prepare for match day 3. Plus, the Capitals made a trade and Joe makes the case for the Commanders to NOT acquire a wide receiver that is begging to be added to the team! Join us!

What a sports week it has been! The USA had a near perfect debut in the World Cup, the Knicks won (and also embarrassed themselves), all the Euro tourists LOVE it here, UFC 250 was a spectacle unlike any other, ... oh, and the Nationals are surging! What a wild week in June! FP, LP, Mat, and Joe are hitting all the topics ahead of the weekend!

The boys are in the studio late late late broadcasting live right after game four of the NBA Finals. The Knicks managed a 29 point comeback winning in dramatic fashion in the final seconds and FP, LP, Mat, 20, and Joe all have thoughts on what they just witnessed. Can the Spurs bounce back? Plus, the boys pick group winners and make some general World Cup predictions as the first games kick-off.... how far can the USA go? favorites to win? dark horses and long shots? ... leave it to FP to wedge in some F1 talk as well! 

FP, Mat, Andy and Joe are in blabbering into the microphones recapping a crazy fun, but loud, weekend, discussing the Nationals as they are starting to heat up heading into the meaty part of the season, and share thoughts on what the NBA Finals *might* be... plus... what is Cleveland doing?   

Finally.... the show everyone has been waiting for is here! Offseason Movie Club 25... half way to 50... ridiculously incredible! On this episode the boys jump in to some early Arnold comedy with Mr. Kimble, they revisit a legit classic featuring a bus an endless gas tank and a lot of familiar faces in Speed, and the boys go deep deep deep into a movie that might be ready for a remake, ironically with the same leads, the over the top face touching Face/Off. Tune-in and volume up!

FP, LP, and Joe are talking Wizards... lots of Wizards and a good amount of NBA Playoffs as well. It's amazing what happens to the product when the teams play defense! Joe also take a victory lap now that Arsenal have won the EPL for the first in 20 years and LP has thoughts on a possible NFL promotion/relegation model that could make sense. 

The Wizards WON something... the draft lottery! Andy says make the pick... Joe says trade the pick to Utah because the Jazz are in a must trade situation. Utah might legit offer 5 first round picks to the Wiz which would be foolishness if they didn't except. Trade the pick, move down one spot, and draft anyone you like to join the core you already have! Commanders minicamp is underway and the rookies are signed and participating! Plus, did we witness the end of the "King James" era in L.A. or will he call it a career and hang 'em up? Two many show with Andy & Joe straight ahead!

The boys are locked in on Cinco de Mayo and go around the sports horn discussing the new uniforms in DC, the race that was in Miami, the unpredictable nature of the NBA playoffs (because of load management), and LP decides to go off-script to share thoughts on the JP Morgan story circulating on social media.

It's a full house! FP, Razzle, LP, and Joe revisit the NFL draft with a focus on the NFC East. Of course FP loved what the 'skins did, of course Razzle had some love for a division rival, and of course Joe went completely off-script as the agent of chaos. The boys also talked about the on-going NBA Playoffs focused mostly on the surprising eastern conference and in an all time upset, FP read something Joe shared about the EPL and is actually mildly following the relegation battles across the pond!

FP and Joe are in studio and recording a day late but wow what a show... they cover a lot of ground. Lot's happening in and around DC these days but nothing bigger right now than the NFL draft... although the Nationals are playing .500 ball consistently and that's not nothing! FP has a wild shower take and the NBA playoffs are off to a pretty interesting start!

It must be the start of summer... NBA playoffs around the corner but nobody knows what channel the play-in games are on, the boys have thoughts on the new Commanders uniforms, and Joe is dying to convince anyone that will listen that late 90's basketball was the best era of basketball. Plus, expectations for the Nationals and what will the Great One decide to do with regards to his future with the Capitals.... this was a fun show! Check it out!

The boys are yuck'n it up discussing... basically everything but also nothing. Baseball is here, basketball is on-going, and Easter is around the corner. The fast food burger wars are interesting everyone has a favorite type of steak and the show has big plans for many future spinoffs... the DTC Universe is expanding! All 'aboard the struggle bus.

FP, LP, and Joe are in the studio late (very late) at night but decided to fire up the mics anyway! The boys chop it up about Alex hitting 1000 total goals, what the Wiz are doing to prepare for next season, and take a quick look around the Commanders locker room as the first draft teaser is dropped. If you love your local DC Sports Teams... this show is for you!

The boys are into the full "OMC SWING" with a few action movies Joe has never seen and a comedy flick that FP hasn't watched in two decades... there is a surprise DNF (two actually; Andy) and a lot of discussion around the idea of "too much" violence. This is a fun episode of the Offseason Movie Club... enjoy!

FP, Andy, 20, and Joe are in studio talking about the beginning of the NFL tampering season and what the Commanders are and are not doing so far in the offseason. 20 shares thoughts on the 49ers, Andy is bullish on the Giants, FP sees nothing wrong (EVER) with Adam Peters, and Joe is just happy to be hear and reminds everyone to always thank your AI assistant... just in case. The boys also recap the first race of the F1 season and set things up for OMC 24 next week!

And again we say "NO MORE SNOW" ... Enough! The boys are in studio discussing many topics with all eyes firmly focused on the pace car, that's drifting off course. Joe has some thoughts on air travel, FP has thoughts on NFL franchise tags and free agency, and LP joins to correct the boys on various coaching staff changes around the league. Plus everybody is ready for the Wiz to improve and for Trae to suit up! Enjoy!

This was a big undertaking... turns out four movies it two movies too many for the boys. Reviews for 1962's Dr. No, 1973's Live and Let Die, 1989's License to Kill, and 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies are straight ahead. It's another snowy Monday and schools are cancelled (AGAIN!) but be of good cheer... the podcast rolls forward! The USA men's and women's team both win GOLD in hockey, turns out LP is really into old olympic sports highlights and FP digs the two-man luge... the boys also discuss "ethical tanking" and try to decide if anyone is actually worth the NFL franchise tag at any position.

Well... it happened. Sam Darnold is a Super Bowl champion! The game was terrible, the half time show was _____ and if you really think about it... well, how would you rank the whole season overall? Join us to discuss the NFL for one last time this season as we prepare for the offseason ahead! Plus the Wizards got spicy at the trade deadline and pulled off a massive haul while keeping their draft picks... also one NBA player deserves to be suspended ASAP... for a long time!

The boys are locked in on a "warm" Monday afternoon and are ready to make their SB game and prop bet predictions. Billy B was disrespected by not being an automatic "in" to the Football Hall of Fame... nobody cares about the NBA right now (thx Lebron) and the Winter Olympics begin... which apparently Andy hates.... in just a few days! Plus the fallout from OMC 22...

It is the rare the boys agree on movies ... but look outside for flying pigs because the boys agree on Mountainhead! They almost agree on Bugonia, and they almost almost agree on the Rip. If you haven't seen the films and don't want to hear spoilers PLEASE watch them first then come back and listen to this wild epsiode of the Offseason Movie Club. Bugonia is on Peacock. The boys are in studio catching up on all things NFL as the Super Bowl matchup is now set! The #Patriots will face the #Seahawks in two weeks and the initial gut feeling is ______ will win! Joe and FP had some thoughts on Matt Stafford to share, Andy is down on the Capitals and the boys reflect on Kobe's passing six years ago today.

The boys are in studio on MLK Day catching up on a great weekend of NFL football and looking forward to the final weekend for real fans; the conference championships. Last weekend was the best football on the calendar all year... everything else is for the masses. Buffalo got completely screwed and it cost their Head Coach his job, a third of the league is searching for a new HC while in DC... well maybe a little bit of nepotism... maybe? The new RFK renders look amazing but not everybody is sold on "bounce" seats and FP shared his worst take in the history of the show... yikes.

Happy New Year! The boys are in studio recapping the final week of the NFL season and making some bold predictions as the playoffs get underway. Stevie shows up in a Trent Williams 49ers jersey but picks the Eagles to win meanwhile FP takes the Bills to win while claiming vehemently that the Jags are the best and hottest team... nothing makes sense! Meanwhile the Wizards are 6-4 in their last 10 games and the Capitals remain competitive although not winning too much right now... happy new year!

Stevie, LP, and Joe are in studio and ready to say goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026. The boys start with a weekly discussion of what went wrong for the Commanders (in game and overall for the season) and eventually pivot into a heated back/forth on the hottest team(s) going into the final week of the season. Stevie has a serious obsession and love for Josh Allen and LP.... well, to his credit... he stayed awake and engaged for the entire show! Happy New Year to ALL!

The boys are ready for the Christmas season and discuss their personal favorites for Christmas day... "ELF" and the "Santa Clause" are both on the list plus FP made it clear that one movie was a must watch for Joe and Andy... they said F1 would convert and excite Joe to get into F1... well Joe watched F1... and the ratings are in! (Joe also got caught up on something very very niche! You gotta hear this one!)

FP and Joe are in studio and ready to recap the Commanders loss on Saturday to the Eagles and as they work their way through the full slate of NFL games one thing becomes very clear, the postseason is a toss-up. The Bears looks good, but so do the Chargers... the Bills look to be in control at times but then sputter... same with the Texans, and same with the Patriots... it's wide wide open. The boys also discuss the back to back fight nights on Friday (Netflix) featuring Jake Paul and Saturday (Rumble) featuring Andrew Tate. What a weekend! Merry Christmas to all! 

FP and Joe jump right into this straight-to-HBO movie titled Flight Risk and have some thoughts on the action, production, casting... and just about everything... this review is a bit rough.... starts at the beginning and ends with final score at 12m30seconds. (FP score this very low, Joe does too.)

FP, Andy, and Joe are in studio to cover the Commanders win over the Giants and looking forward they make a few predictions for the rest of the season. JD5 is confirmed to be "SHUT DOWN" and Joe asks, why isn't everyone else shut down too? Plus Andy has a wild NFL Top 5 and the boys discuss the two ongoing FIFA problems specific to lack of affordable tickets and the upcoming PRIDE match in Seattle between two very friendly nations (Egypt & Iran). The boys also share their thoughts on the Broncos win on Sunday night and discuss whether the Commanders are deserving of the rare "moral victory" .... plus, Hard Knocks is back!

The #Commanders lost in Spain. DQ made some progress with the defense but the offense struggled and in the end a loss is a loss. The 'skins have a ton of work to do for the rest of this season and into the early part of the offseason to figure out what's what on the coaching staff... plus if JD5 and Terry are available do you have to bring them back? Around the league there are some teams starting to heat up and a few legacy contenders (#Ravens and #Chiefs) that are on the outside looking in but still within striking distance. One week until Thanksgiving folks... next week... pie power rankings! 

Well it happened, the Commanders were crushed by the Lions at home... the season is lost and there is no way to spin this anymore... it's over. As the team prepares to fly out to Spain for their [beatdown] showdown with the Dolphins, FP and Joe try to figure out if there is anything worth watching for... plus, there are a few teams that look to be very very strong and a few that look to be very very weak... the boys put the whole league through the eyeball-test and finally... are you ready to watch NFC East hard knocks in a few weeks? Well... the season is over. Washington lost on the field and off the field and it is time for fans to lock-in on a new hobby or weekly activity. FP, LP, and Joe revisit the Sunday loss to the #Seahawks and start to process, together, what the rest of the season for the #Commanders might look like. Tough times ahead for AP, DQ, and the entire front office staff as any post-season hopes have evaporated. Meanwhile, MLB just had an incredible month of post-season drama culminating in an enjoyable, classic, wild, awesome World Series and FP and Joe spontaneously launch into a random OMC review of the newest Netflix thriller called House of Dynamite. 

The boys are in studio on a short week discussing the #Chiefs victory over the #Commanders on Monday Night and taking a look around the league... things are wide WIDE open! The World Series is awesome and the underdog has a chance, but nobody is awake to see it... the NBA season is underway with some interesting twists including a huge off-court gambling fiasco unfolding in real-time… plus, and with Halloween just days away, the boys rate their top 5 halloween candy! 

This is a big episode for the show... the #Commanders stalled in #Dallas against the #Cowboys and the problems and injuries are adding up fast... might the season be slipping away? The Wold Series is set; #Drake v #KLamar ie BlueJays v Dodgers and the NBA Season officially begins... the boys have some bold predictions for the local team and the league at large... plus, the #Caps started their season very well! Let's Go!

The boys are salty after a rainy loss at home to ‘da Bears on MNF. One person in particular is over reacting a bit (guess who?) to JD5’s performance while a few of the guys are just upset that another winnable game was lost. The NFL is absolutely wild through 6 weeks with storylines budding all around the league. We cast our top5 and low5 lots and discuss MVP candidates as we cross past the first third of the season.

While Lebron is distracting sports fans with another "decision" the boys are in studio recapping the trip to LA, the win against the Chargers, and are making preparations for Monday Night against the Bears. JD5 looked good but Bill looked GREAT. The defense made adjustments and shutting out a team for three quarters is no small feat. The boys also look around the NFL with some surprise moves into and out of the top 5 + the NHL season is about to start... lets go CAPS! 

The boys are bummed after a (non competitive) loss in Atlanta on Sunday. The offense looked anemic and the defense looked ancient... it's over; we're cooked. Nobody wanted to see a 40/40 game end in a tie; Tyreek likely done/done and we look around the league to assess the weekly top 5 and low 5. Plus, YouTube TV might have broken a few guys this week prompting a return to hardwired 4k. 

The boys are ready to discuss all things NFL including #Commanders new signing and continued kicking woes. There are a few tough questions that fans need to consider about why the offense looked the way it did on Sunday as MM prepares for another week under center. Fantasy football target pickups for the week plus what's more impressive x2 "Colts or Bucs" edition.... and the WWE moved to ESPN with a poorly named and poorly covered PLE... but nobody cares because Cena lost and Brock isn't marketable any more... maybe. Well... only one panelist had the 'skins losing on Thursday and oof did they look bad with the national spotlight on them. The Cowboys and Giants played a classic; the Dolphins and Raiders looked atrocious, and the league is plagued with injuries... plus, Adam Silver is the worst commissioner of any sport, ever not only calling fans "poors" but also encouraging them to "go watch highlights"... just crazy... this is a wild episode.

NFL Week 1 is in the books and the #Commanders opened the season at home with a WIN! The offense looked good; the defense looked better; the #Giants looked terrible. We go around the horn and identify the top and bottom teams in the league and it wouldn't be a new season without some over the top over-reactions to week 1! Lots of NFL talk headed your way on this one! ...also, nobody cares about the #Packers!   

It's finally here... football is back! With the NFL season schedule in just a few days the boys are in studio for one last time making bold predictions for the Commanders and for the league at large. Did the Clippers do something new or did they get caught doing something everyone does? The boys all watched Deja Vu for OMC and share their personal goals for the upcoming fall and winter season leading up to New Years in January!  

Football is so close, literally so close! The boys are on the mics discussing final roster cuts from around the league and locally the biggest news of the summer is Scary Terry has been resigned to a massive 3-year $96mil extension! Cracker Barrel continues to hate its heritage and customers and one cast member finally watched a classic film for the very first time.
