Delighted By Christ

Daniel 6 helps remind us that our God alone has the power to rescue us. We can look to him with confidence, to save us from death and the judgement we deserve, and rejoice knowing he will bring us to the perfect new creation. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ, from his word)

Let’s look together at some of the most amazing promises in the bible. We can be so quick to forget God is good and he loves to bless. Genesis 12:1-3 reminds us of the incredible grace God showed to Abram, and hints at the great hope for all humanity. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from his word).

2 Peter is a wonderful book that can help bring us peace. It helps us fix our eyes back on God and grows our security that we may have stability of faith, and so make it to God’s eternal kingdom. Praise God! (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from God’s word).

Both tragically and wonderfully God shows us our need for Jesus through the account of Noah and the flood. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from the bible).

Lets enjoy looking at the incredible salvation God shows he’s coming to bring from Isaiah 52:1-12. Setting out minds on this wonderful future is so helpful for not getting caught up in this world, but rather persevering with living how God wants us to live.

Daniel ch4 is one of the most incredible passages for seeing that God is in charge. God rules, God reigns and we so need to be reminded. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from the bible).

No one has power like this! Genesis 6-8 shows God commanding such power I can only look on in awe. Let’s look together at how the account of the flood corrects our small view of God. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from his word).

We can hear the God of the universe speaking directly, personally, presently, powerfully to us, when we look at the bible! What a privilege. Let’s thing more about 1 Thessalonians 2:13 together. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from his word).

God says it is good to slow down, he reveals his glory which leads us to praise. But praising and trusting him doesn’t mean we shouldn’t grieve. Wonderfully Psalm 62 shows God wants us to freely pour out our hearts to God. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

God isn’t blind to the evil in the world, he doesn’t enjoy it, he doesn’t ignore it. Evil grieves God’s heart and God is a God who acts to judge wickedness. We can trust God to judge evil. And we don’t need to fear because Christ has taken the punishment we deserve on himself for all the evil we commit. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

These people have rejected God, turned to murder and yet God shows mercy and grace. Let’s enjoy God’s mercy, justice and grace together from Genesis 4. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from God’s word).

We don’t want to waste our lives, we want to have purpose and do things that matter. In 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 God shows us how, through sharing how Paul lived and what motivated him. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from God’s word).

We rejected God, we deserved death, and yet God showed grace and kindness. I found this so moving, this is the God we serve, this is the God we get to call father. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from his word).

The greatest commandment it this ‘love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ Matthew 22:34-40. This has wonderful implications on how we view serving God and getting to be with him for all eternity. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ from his word).

Genesis 3 tells the devastating story of humans rejection of God and the brokenness that it caused. Though a terrible reality, I think this passage is a gift that helps us to understand why everything is broken and keep us from letting suffering take us away from God. The heavens and earth will pass away but God’s salvation will remain forever. I found Isaiah 50:1-8 such a comfort. It help lift our minds from our anxieties and onto God and his eternal salvation. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ, from his word).

One of my favourite passages in the bible 1 Peter 1:3-12 reminds us of the incredible hope we have as Christians. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

A close relative passed away recently, we read Revelation 21:1-8 at the funeral. I wanted to share why his passing gave us such reason to rejoice as well as mourn. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

We can find hope in God's grace even when everything seems dark. 2 Kings 13:23 helps us to remember God's character and promises, giving us hope. (How I've been delighted by Christ over the past few days).

Every good gift comes from God, let’s enjoy them together to help us keep trusting in Christ till he returns. James 1:17 (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the past few days).

Life can be tiring. I often find it hard to rest well. Let’s look together at the hope of rest the Christ offers from Matthew 11:28. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the past few days).

God has given us incredible value, no matter who you are or how you feel about yourself. God made all of us in his image Genesis 1:27. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the past few days).

We can listen to the very words of God! All Scripture is breathed out by God, how incredible is that. 2 Timothy 3:16. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

God helps us to see it’s worth following him because he really will keep his promises to bless and judge. Praise the Lord he is faithful Malachi 3:6. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

God helps us to see the danger of focusing too much on earthly wealth and possessions. God doesn’t want our hearts to be draw away from him and so miss out on the New creation. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

Wealth can bring much anxiety. James helps us to take our focus of earthly riches which come and go. I found James 5:1-3 really freeing. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

The bible is such a gift! 2 Timothy 3:15 reminds us that it’s words can make us wise for salvation. God’s rescue plan, eternal destruction to eternal glory. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

We are not without hope in our struggles. Psalm 121 helps us look to the lord the creator of heaven and earth. Those trusting in Christ can be confident God is their hope and strength. (How I’ve been delighted by Christ over the last few days).

Our weakness can actually help us serve God better! We don’t need to be strong wise or good as speaking to serve God. Our weakness puts all the focus on God and his power. This can be so refreshing! 1 Corinthians 2:1-5.
