Shocking Evidence MOSES Borrowed from Plato
In this deep dive, we unravel one of the most intriguing controversies of ancient intellectual history: the alleged borrowing of ideas between Moses and Plato. While the ancients ardently believed and posited that Plato might have drawn inspiration from Moses, modern scholarship is turning the tables on this theory. Some scholars now suggest that Moses, as portrayed in biblical narratives, might not be as ancient as traditionally believed. Could it be that the biblical authors were influenced by the Hellenistic world, including the philosophical titan, Plato? Join us as we sift through historical clues, analyze ancient texts, and engage with scholars to uncover the truth behind the improbable Moses-Plato controversy. This journey promises to challenge what you thought you knew about two of history's most iconic figures. Resistance To Mimesis Criticism
Mimesis criticism is a method of interpreting texts in relation to their literary or cultural models. Mimesis, or imitation (imitatio), was a widely used rhetorical tool in antiquity up until the 18th century's romantic emphasis on originality.Mimesis criticism looks to identify intertextual relationships between two texts that go beyond simple echoes, allusions, citations, or redactions. The effects of imitation are usually manifested in the later text by means of distinct characterization, motifs, and/or plot structure. As a critical method, mimesis criticism has been pioneered by Dennis MacDonald, especially in relation to New Testament and other early Christian narratives imitating the "canonical" works of Classical Greek literature.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Ancient JEWS CHANGED King David's Story In JUDAH
Did you know the scandalous story of Judah and Tamar in Genesis 38 mirrors King David's family troubles? This video explores the literary links between these biblical tales and reveals how the Genesis narrative creatively imitates motifs from the Davidic succession story. We'll break down the parallels between Judah/Tamar and David/Bathsheba, highlighting shared themes of forbidden romance, tragic deaths, and clever disguises. You'll also learn about the connections between Judah's son Perez and David's son Solomon as unexpected torchbearers. But it doesn't end there! We'll dive deeper to uncover possible influences from Ancient Near Eastern myths and Herodotus' Histories.Themes of sacred prostitution, levirate marriage, disguise, and divine fate in Genesis 38 resonate with other ancient tales. Intriguingly, Herodotus' accounts of ritual prostitution and King Xerxes' affair with his daughter-in-law may have inspired details in this Genesis drama. If you enjoy biblical exegesis and tracing the mythical threads woven into scripture, this video offers a fascinating literary analysis of one of the Bible's most tantalizing texts. The evolution of Genesis 38, from embellishing Davidic history to mirroring ANE motifs, reveals the artistry of the biblical authors.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed at All
Why would anyone think Jesus never existed? Isn’t it perfectly reasonable to accept that he was a real first century figure? As it turns out, no. NAILED sheds light on ten beloved Christian myths, and with evidence gathered from historians all across the theological spectrum, shows how they point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus – in short, a purely mythic Christ.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Shocking Greek ORIGINS To Genesis
The Genesis creation account usually gets compared to the mythological world of Mesopotamia for good reasons, but so does the Greek creation myths such as Hesiod's Theogony. The shocking part about this documentary is how we explain why Genesis demythologizes it's creation account in Genesis 1 while going mythological in Genesis 2-3 which has better parallels to Plato's Timaeus rather than the Babylonian, Assyrian or just Mesopotamian world. We explain why the Greek origins better explain the two accounts which often times gets attributed to two different authors centuries apart in the Documentary Hypothesis. Russell Gmirkin has a revolutionary hypothesis that explains why the God Elohim in Genesis 1 has a different name from YHWH in Genesis 2-3. His answer resides in Plato's Timaeus. Plato has two creation accounts, one more scientific and done by the demiurge or crafter while the other account is done by the children of the creator such as Prometheus or Athena. Genesis & Plato have shocking comparisons from the lesser deities creating humanity from clay and breathing life into them to the Generations of Ouranous and Gaia in both creations. You won't want to miss this documentary. One of the earliest, most renowned, and authoritative theogonies preserved in written form is Hesiod's Theogony, which dates back to around 700 BCE in ancient Greece. However, the concept of anthropomorphic family groups of gods extends far beyond Greece, spanning across various civilizations in the Ancient Near East. In Egypt, we witness the portrayal of gods in anthropomorphic family structures, as exemplified in Plutarch's work on Isis and Osiris.Babylonia presents its own version of divine lineage in the Enuma Elish, while Assyria depicts these dynamics through the Assyrian redaction of the Enuma Elish, featuring Ashur as the replacement for Marduk. The Hurrians and Hittites contribute to this rich tradition with their epic of Kumarbi, and the Phoenicians, as evidenced by Philo of Byblos, add their unique perspective. The "Canaanite" Ugaritic texts of Ras Shamra, particularly in the Baal Cycle, implicitly reveal similar themes of divine family connections.Notably, the "Canaanite" tradition of El and his seventy sons directly influences the biblical text. Here, the god of the children of Israel is often associated with either El, the ruler of the divine council, or one of El's sons. These echoes of divine familial relationships resonate throughout biblical narratives. For further exploration and detailed sources on the topics discussed in this video, I recommend referring to Gmirkin's book. It serves as a valuable resource, shedding light on the origins and interconnectedness of these ancient texts.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Hard Physical Evidence Romans Created Christianity
"Exhaustively annotated and illustrated, this explosive work of history unearths clues that finally demonstrate the truth about one of the world’s great religions: that it was born out of the conflict between the Romans and messianic Jews who fought a bitter war with each other during the 1st Century. The Romans employed a tactic they routinely used to conquer and absorb other nations: they grafted their imperial rule onto the religion of the conquered. After 30 years of research, authors James S. Valliant and C.W. Fahy present irrefutable archaeological and textual evidence that proves Christianity was created by Roman Caesars in this book that breaks new ground in Christian scholarship and is destined to change the way the world looks at ancient religions forever.Inherited from a long-past era of tyranny, war and deliberate religious fraud, could Christianity have been created for an entirely different purpose than we have been lead to believe? Praised by scholars like Dead Sea Scrolls translator Robert Eisenman (James the Brother of Jesus), this exhaustive synthesis of historical detective work integrates all of the ancient sources about the earliest Christians and reveals new archaeological evidence for the first time. And, despite the fable presented in current bestsellers like Bill O’Reilly’s Killing Jesus, the evidence presented in Creating Christ is irrefutable: Christianity was invented by Roman Emperors."Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

You’ll find nearly everything the Bible has to say about the end in the Book of Revelation: a mystifying prophecy filled with bizarre symbolism, violent imagery, mangled syntax, confounding contradictions, and very firm ideas about the horrors that await us all. The Origins of Genesis and Its Mythology
It's no secret that Genesis takes inspiration from older myths about Creation and the flood. In fact, you could say that the authors of Genesis were the ultimate hipsters - taking something old and making it new again. But while they may have put their own spin on things, it's hard to deny that there are some striking similarities between Genesis and earlier tales. It's almost as if they were trying to say, "Hey, we know this story has been done before, but we're going to do it better." And whether or not they succeeded in that goal, one thing is for sure - they definitely knew how to make a splash.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. The Apostle Paul vs James & Peter - What's Their Beef?
In this “compulsively readable exploration of the tangled world of Christian origins” (Publishers Weekly), religious historian James Tabor illuminates the earliest years of Jesus’ teachings before Paul shaped them into the religion we know today. This fascinating examination of the earliest years of Christianity reveals how the man we call St. Paul shaped Christianity as we know it today. Historians know almost nothing about the two decades following the crucifixion of Jesus, when his followers regrouped and began to spread his message. During this time Paul joined the movement and began to preach to the gentiles.Using the oldest Christian documents that we have—the letters of Paul—as well as other early Christian sources, historian and scholar James Tabor reconstructs the origins of Christianity. Tabor shows how Paul separated himself from Peter and James to introduce his own version of Christianity, which would continue to develop independently of the message that Jesus, James, and Peter preached.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. What Can We Know About The Historical Jesus
MythVision made a special trip to Boston USA to interview Paula Fredriksen. I recorded 12 sessions with Dr. Fredriksen discussing her work in New Testament studies. Thanks to those who helped fund this trip via GoFundMe I was able to make history. Their names are at the outro of every video with Paula. Paula Fredriksen, the Aurelio Professor of Scripture emerita at Boston University, since 2009 has been Distinguished Visiting Professor of Comparative Religion at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. A fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, she also holds two honorary doctorates in theology and religious studies. She has published widely on the social and intellectual history of ancient Christianity, and on pagan-Jewish-Christian relations in the Roman Empire. Author of Augustine on Romans (1982) and From Jesus to Christ (1988; 2000), her Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, won a 1999 National Jewish Book Award. More recently, she has explored the development of Christian anti-Judaism, and Augustine’s singular response to it, in Augustine and the Jews: A Christian Defense of Jews and Judaism (2010); and has investigated the shifting conceptions of God and of humanity in Sin: The Early History of an Idea (2012). Her latest study, Paul: The Pagans’ Apostle (2017), places Paul’s Jewish messianic message to gentiles within the wider world of ancient Mediterranean culture.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Rabbi Tovia Singer Christianity is the easiest religion to disprove (Christianity false)
Singer is the founder and director of Outreach Judaism, a Jewish counter-missionary organization. It describes itself as "an international organization that responds directly to the issues raised by missionaries and cults, by exploring Judaism in contradistinction to fundamentalist Christianity."Singer cautions regarding congregations that "are designed to appear Jewish, but are actually fundamentalist Christian churches, which use traditional Jewish symbols to lure the most vulnerable of our Jewish people into their ranks." Outreach Judaism was described by J. Gordon Melton in 2002 as an example of "the current state of Jewish counter-cult activity." Rabbi Tovia Singer wanted to understand why Jews have been persecuted throughout history so he read the New Testament and found out why they have been targeted. It appears Rabbi Tovia Singer has devoted his life to showing how the authors of the New Testament corrupted the Hebrew scriptures in the Septuagint. He shows how Paul manipulated the text just as bad as modern tv preachers to suite his gentile audience.Try Audible:- https://www.audibletrial.com/c/3690203/1059363/12951Affiliate Disclosure: This podcast contain audible affiliate link and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.Hosted on Acast.
