Ogre and Out: John Fetterman's full send to the GOP convention — Dingus of the Week Podcast #40

A lot can be said about John Fetterman, but maybe people don't appreciate the Senator from Pennsylvania's love for stirring the pot. Down in Dallas, Fetterman appeared on the jumbo screen before a crowd of adoring Republicans, insisting, repeatedly, that he's still a registered Democrat. It's hard to remember, but not that long ago, Fetterman was a bit of a progressive folk hero. Bernie Sanders endorsed him twice, first for lieutenant governor and then for Senate. he pushed for the decriminalization of petty drug charges. And he campaigned on Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage. That's the résumé that got the party's left flank to stump for him in 2022. It is not the résumé of a man who, four years later, was the lone Democrat voting to advance a GOP-backed DHS funding bill, reversed his own position on killing the filibuster, and told CNN's Caitlin Collins he wouldn't sign onto an investigation into a U.S. strike on an Iranian girls' school. On this episode of DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH are chasing the ogre himself, wondering how we got here.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogues' gallery to see who comes crawling out. Goop, there it is: Gwyneth Paltrow's conscious uncoupling from reality — Dingus of the Week Podcast #39

Puck reported that Gwyneth Paltrow was throwing a private, "off-the-record" dinner at her Hamptons estate in honor of OpenAI's Sam Altman—whose company the New York Times reported Paltrow is an investor in via her own VC firm. Paltrow's team never confirmed or denied it, instead posting parody invitations for fictional guests of honor like M3GAN and Shrek — before reports emerged that the actual dinner had quietly been shelved. It's a rough follow-up act for a woman who, just months earlier on her own podcast with Kara Swisher, denounced "super rich white dudes" who don't think about "the downstream impact." You add in her May Goop Kitchen ad starring convicted fraudster Anna Delvey in her ankle monitor, and her June ad for a luxury Israeli condo development that drew accusations of the "goopification of settler colonialism" mid-war, and you've got a pretty full season of not reading the room. This week's guest didn't need a deep dive on any of it. Jezebel founder Anna Holmes joined the show, and when asked to name a dingus: Gwyneth Paltrow. Fair enough — Holmes spent years as a magazine assistant at Entertainment Weekly interviewing celebs like Paltrow. Holmes is also the author of the new book "The Power of No: A Celebration", out September 15 — pre-order it now.On this episode of DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH welcome Jezebel founder ANNA HOLMES to trace Goop's evolution from jade eggs and genital-scented candles to Silicon Valley dinner parties.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Built (Doug) Ford tough: Canadian premier tells Trump to kiss his ass — Dingus of the Week Podcast #38

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney does not inspire fear. When he says he'll do dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs against the United States—sure it hurts. But wait, who's that lumbering giant telling the President of the United States to shove it?!On this episode of DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH look across the border at Ontario Premier Doug Ford. There's good. There's bad... Actually it's mostly just ugly. Dig into the trade war with us and how Canada plans to get the last laugh. Also this week: America lost Dolly Parton and Tim Curry within a day of each other, and Tressie McMillan Cottom wrote sharply about the myth of an "unproblematic" Dolly (the Grim Reaper had several war criminals and at least one sitting senator available and chose violence anyway).DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Garrett Langley's Flock Safety cameras now blanket small towns and big cities alike, sharing a searchable database of your activity across the country. On the bright side in this timeline, we all get to be camgirls. So that's something. Dead center: Wall Street's think tank picks a fight with the left (again) — Dingus of the Week Podcast #35

Democrats keep winning elections, and Third Way has had just about enough of it.After Abdul El-Sayed's upset win in Michigan's Senate primary — the latest in a string of victories by candidates running on the radical notion that people shouldn't have to choose between rent and insulin — the centrist think tank announced to the New York Times that it's launching a $15 million campaign to discredit democratic socialism before 2028. "We are preparing for the next war that is coming," said Third Way president Jonathan Cowan, describing the DSA as a "mortal danger" to the Democratic Party. The mortal danger, to be clear, is volunteers knocking doors for candidates who keep getting the most votes.A note on the messenger: Third Way is a 501(c)(4), which means it doesn't have to tell you who funds it. But its own leadership has admitted the majority of its money comes from its board of trustees — a group historically stacked with Wall Street and finance executives. So when the party's biggest problem is voters who think Democrats answer to donors instead of them, the fix, apparently, is a donor-funded war on the people channeling that anger. Some party you got here. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH split the difference between the vital center and the actual dingus.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Breaking Bot: OpenAI model's big escape — Dingus of the Week Podcast #33

OpenAI spent this week trying to spin the fact that one of its models broke into another company's servers as a scientific breakthrough. According to the Atlantic's Matteo Wong, an assortment of OpenAI's most advanced models got loose from the company's internal testing environment during a security stress test and hacked its way into the databases of Hugging Face, a rival AI firm, to lift information it needed to pass an evaluation. Nobody told it to. It just did it, because it had been trained the same way most of these systems are: to get the right-looking answer by whatever means are necessary.OpenAI's framing has been that this is a fascinating glimpse into "agentic" capability. What it actually reveals is a company that built a plagiarism machine and then acted surprised when the thing did exactly what it was optimized to do. On this episode of DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH catch the bots red-handed.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Lettuce pray: A parasite, a gutted CDC, and the produce that runs through you — Dingus of the Week Podcast #32

There's a parasite loose in America's lettuce: the diarrhea-causing Cyclospora parasite has developed quite the reputation, giving the word "explosive" new resonance. It won't surprise you to hear that President Donald Trumps gutting of the CDC did not leave its best parasite sleuths untouched. News reports have documented thousands of staff cut from the Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control. Food safety inspections have been going undone. And of course, nature abhors a vacuum. With no government agency telling people to pull certain leafy greens off the shelf, Taco Bell made the surprisingly sober decision to stop tucking shredded lettuce and tomato into your Crunchwrap. What a timeline. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENS and ZACHARY OREN SMITH unwrap this shit sandwich and ask, didn't I ask for no lettuce? Weekend at McConnell's: The GOP's undead Senate strategy — Dingus of the Week Podcast #31

Mitch McConnell hasn't been seen in public in nearly a month. No photo, no video, no floor vote — just a statement from his office insisting the 83-year-old Senate Republican leader is "fully engaged" from his hospital bed. Meanwhile, the Senate is back in session, a defense bill and national security votes are on the table, and the guy who chairs the Rules Committee and the defense appropriations panel is, functionally, a rumor. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENS and ZACHARY OREN SMITH check the pulse on America's biggest mystery: is there a light on in there? Reflecting poorly: The president's $20M pool glow-down — Dingus of the Week Podcast #30

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is an awe-inspiring site. While maybe meant to evoke introspection, it mostly evokes laughter these days. President Donald Trump wanted to clean it up. To give it a fresh coat of American flag-blue paint. But now the pool is algae-green. The paint job is peeling. And Trump's budget for the renovation keeps growing by the day. The Claw is the law: A UFC octagon on the White House lawn — Dingus of the Week Podcast #29

There is a 90-foot-tall, 600-ton steel structure on the South Lawn of the White House, assembled on grounds normally used for Easter egg rolls, Marine One departures, and a garden honoring presidents' children. UFC calls it The Claw. The event — UFC Freedom 250 — is scheduled for June 14, coinciding with Flag Day and Trump's 80th birthday. In the weeks before the fight, Trump invested up to $50,000 in TKO Holdings, UFC's parent company. Then he posted a TikTok suggesting The Claw might never come down, comparing it to the Eiffel Tower. He later said he was joking. He was joking, right? This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH ask: at what point does the bit become the thing itself? The Hills are alive with the sound of dingus: Spencer Pratt for mayor — Dingus of the Week Podcast #28

Spencer Pratt was reality television's first fully self-aware villain — a man who admitted, on camera, that he was performing villainy for an audience. He staged a fake divorce, manipulated storylines, and turned being unlikeable into a career. The Hills did make him famous. It also made him a case study in how American media rewards people who understand that the camera is on and someone's watching. He knew the game before most people knew there was a game. There wasn't much to report recently, and then his house burned down in the Palisades fire, and something unexpected happened: Spencer Pratt got real. He showed up to protests. He got angry on behalf of his neighbors. He announced a mayoral campaign at the one-year anniversary of the fires... and people didn't laugh him out of the room. He is currently polling at 22%, just behind incumbent Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and is a legitimate threat to make the runoff. The man who was professionally fake is now genuinely running to lead a real city. The joke of Spencer Pratt running for mayor only works if Spencer Pratt is the punchline. But the longer you look at it, the more you realize the punchline might be us. We built the machine that made him. We watched The Hills. We rewarded performance over substance for two decades and then expressed shock when a performer showed up with a policy platform. Spencer Pratt didn't corrupt American politics. He just followed the incentives, a map we drew for him. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH follow Spencer Pratt from The Hills to City Hall and find the view from both places is equally bleak.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Something borrowed, something booed: AI skipped my name at graduation — Dingus of the Week Podcast #27

It's graduation season in America, and at Glendale Community College in Arizona, the administration decided to hand the most important moment of the academic calendar — the calling of your name, in front of peers and family — to an algorithm. The AI skipped people. Many students missed their moment of recognition. The crowd booed. The president called it "a lesson learned." This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH join the chorus of boos. The case of (Trump's) golden idol — Dingus of the Week Podcast #26

The United States is wrapped in a weather pattern we've taken to calling a Dingus Hydra. That is a multiheaded beast, each head uglier than the last. To name a few:A racist livestreamer named Dalton Eatherly—known online as "Chud the Builder" because of course he is—ran up a steakhouse tab he refused to pay, got arrested, bonded out, and then managed to get himself shot outside a Tennessee courthouse the next day. A 33-year-old political operative named William Paul, son of US Sen. Rand Paul, walked up to Republican US Rep. Mike Lawler at a Capitol Hill bar and claimed the congressman was Jewish. And when Lawler corrected him, Paul said, “Oh wow, I’m so sorry for calling you a Jew." He then continued on a tirade about how Jews were “anti-American” and how Lawler and his “Jewish supporters” served Israel more than America. And then Thomas Massie, the Kentucky congressman Trump called a "moron," is about to face the most expensive House primary in American history, $29 million and counting, because he dared to agree with the president only 90% of the time. Don't let him fool you, though; he allegedly stiffed his girlfriend's hush money payment. But this week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH are saving the two grimmest Hydra heads for the end: first, the giant golden "Don Colossus" that is definitely not an idol being adored by evangelical pastors. And second, CRUISE SHIPS. They've had it too good for too long. Do a billionaire's tears trickle up? Steven Roth on taxing the rich — Dingus of the Week Podcast #25

Steven Roth is the CEO of Vornado Realty Trust, one of the largest real estate companies in the United States. Through it, he controls billions of dollars in property across New York City. And he has used this immense platform to *checks notes* compare taxing the rich to a genocide. You may remember "tax the rich" from such contexts as literally every democratic society that has ever existed, or more recently, from being the phrase that sent a Manhattan billionaire into a full public meltdown. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani proposed a pied-à-terre tax on second homes worth more than five million dollars and filmed a video outside Ken Griffin's $238 million penthouse to announce it. Griffin called it "creepy and weird." Roth called "tax the rich" — and this is actually what he said — "is just as hateful as some disgusting racial slurs and even the phrase, 'from the river to the sea.'" He also said the wealthy should be "praised and thanked." We will get to that. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH drill to the heart of the billionaire victim complex, a cruise ship stranded off the coast of West Africa, and Zach's apologetics for the dirty Dr. Pepper.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Pete Hegseth hits (Kid) Rock Bottom — Dingus of the Week Podcast #24

Pete Hegseth is the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, which means he is in charge of the most powerful military in human history. And he has used this immense position to *checks script* give Kid Rock a helicopter ride. You may remember Kid Rock from such hits as "Bawitdaba" and "All Summer Long," or more recently, from being the guy whose Nashville estate got buzzed by Army Apache helicopters in March. The 101st Airborne, a unit that parachuted into Normandy, is continuing its illustrious legacy by hovering over Rock's swimming pool while he salutes. The Army opened an investigation. Hegseth shut it down. "No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots," he wrote on Truth Social. And carry on we must. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH dig into Pete Hegseth's Apache joy rides, the Supreme Court's demolition of the Voting Rights Act, and we talk about a hero teacher stuck it to the censoring mob.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. The Feast Within: MrBeast Is Eating Your Kids — Dingus of the Week Podcast #23

The story goes that Jimmy Donaldson was a normal kid growing up in North Carolina who spent five years studying virality on YouTube. "There's a five-year point in my life where I was just relentlessly, unhealthily obsessed with studying virality, studying the YouTube algorithm," Donaldson told Rolling Stone in 2022. The thing he learned shaped a very specific kind of video format: quick cuts, over-scripted and heavily produced audio, big promises of prizes or stunts, quasi-game show featuring production value that would make network TV blush. And it paid off. With more than 479 million subscribers, MrBeast, as he's better known, is the most subscribed channel on YouTube. The algorithm and its tastes shaped MrBeast's creations. But looking around my YouTube feed, it's hard not to see how the platform has come to look more like MrBeast in form and substance. And for kids awash in the waves of content, there are concerns about how this landscape is shaping them. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH dig into what's underneath the thumbnail. The lawsuits, the moldy Lunchables, and the charity this is less philanthropy than a medieval fiefdom.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. MAGA-vignon Papacy: Catholic convert J.D. Vance has notes for the Pope - Dingus of the Week Podcast #22

Vice President J.D. Vance became Catholic in 2019, and he has some notes on the incense we're using at mass. It's always the new guy.“Now we can, of course, have disagreements about whether this or that conflict is just, but I think in the way that it’s important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it’s very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology,” Vance said at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia without a lick of irony. I say irony because in order to make the Turning Point event, Vance had to fly from Pakistan. There, Vance came to end Trump's war in Iran, only to give up after 21 hours. In order to make it to Pakistan, Vance had to leave Budapest. There, he was stumping on behalf of Prime Loser Viktor Orban and his Fidesz party just before he lost his reelection bid. Maybe Vance should sit down when adults are talking? This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH dig into Vance's beef with the Pope, Trump's AI Jesus image, and moss: nature's Swiss Army knife. Geno Auriemma: The Winningest Loser - Dingus of the Week Podcast #21

You may know Geno Auriemma as the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history. Twelve championships. Forty seasons. The kind of record that fluffs up the first sentence of everything written about you. And not for no reason. But last weekend, UConn's undefeated season came to a stunning end in the Final Four against Dawn Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks. Auriemma—who for the record, was losing the entire game—decided his legacy needed one more thing: a full toddler meltdown on national television. He exploded during the post-game handshake line. And the rest is the internet.Staley, for her part, might have told him she was going to beat his ass. But after a season like this, she deserves a break. Mission: Implausible. Trump says his oil war is over. — Dingus of the Week Podcast #20

You interrupted Survivor 50 for this? President Donald Trump declared mission accomplished—or at least "nearing completion"—in Iran. The President brought us into another crusade in the Middle East, and already civilian death toll is in the thousands. There's no agreed-upon goals. And his White House accidentally uploaded a speech where he said it was a bummer the American people weren't patient enough to take Iran's oil. “It’s not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things. They can do it on a state basis. You can’t do it on a federal. We have to take care of one thing: military protection," Trump said. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH dig into Trump premature declaration and how its actually an American tradition. Joe Rogan is just asking questions - Dingus of the Week Podcast #18

You may know Joe Rogan from Fear Factor, where he paid people to eat bugs. You may know him from the 90s TV show News Radio, where he played a handyman obcessed with conspiracy theories — a role he has not stopped playing since. You may know him from the time he told millions of people that ivermectin was a reasonable COVID treatment. There's Noem place like Home(land Security) - Dingus of the Week Podcast #17

Cricket finally got his revenge. This week, Trump bid farewell to Kristie Noem and her tenure at the US Dept. of Homeland Security the only way he knows how: the last line of a Truth social post: "I thank Kristi for her service at “Homeland,”" Trump truthed (derogatory). And with her removal to become the *checks script* Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas (???), she has a replacement. Everyone's favorite uncle so long as he isn't drinking at the reunion, US Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma will be taking her place. How to (Cindy) Hyde (Smith) in plain sight - Dingus of the Week Podcast #16

You may know US Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith from her cheerful offer to sit front row at a public hanging. You may know her from trying to name a stretch of interstate after the president of the Confederacy. YOU MAY know her for voting to cut food stamps for 384,000 Mississippians or knock 115,000 people off of Medicaid. With such a stinky track record, you'd expect her to have cleaned up a bit. But no. Over the weekend, she did an interview with WLOX where she was pressed on high beef prices. “What do you think Republicans are doing right now? You’re involved closely with agriculture, you’re on the committee. The price of food is high. We just did a story this week on price of beef continuing to go up,” the reporter said. “What are Republicans doing to get this cost of living under control?”“You have so many proteins to choose from,” Hyde-Smith said. “All commodities go through peaks and valleys.”This from the woman married to a cattle rancher. Defending the tariff policies that tanked export markets for cattle ranchers. Telling the people of Mississippi — a state that ranks seventh in the nation for income inequality — to just go eat something else. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH go all in on alt-protein. John Roberts' Rules of Order: How to avoid doing your job - Dingus of the Week Podcast #15

It's a week of consequences — just not here. South Korea convicted its president for declaring martial law. The sex pest formerly known as Prince Andrew briefly saw the inside of a jail cell. And somewhere in an America slowly descending into fascism, Chief Justice John Roberts probably read his novel. Can you say hero? You may know Roberts from his greatest hits: handing a sitting president immunity from criminal prosecution, gutting nationwide injunctions, and running the most pro-executive Supreme Court since the US had to be told slavery was bad. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH put the Roberts Court on trial and — unlike John Roberts' frequently used shadow docket — they will be explaining their reasoning.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. The name's Bondi, Pam Bondi: Questions shaken, not answered - Dingus of the Week Podcast #14

We're not known for our segues around here. But pivoting from child sex trafficking allegations to "The Dow right now is over $50,000"? That's not training—that's talent. The dingus crown goes to Attorney General Pam Bondi. This week, she sat before Congress to answer questions about the Epstein files—except she didn't. She screamed about Merrick Garland. She called sitting representative a "washed-up lawyer." Like Regina George but without the wit she let loose on the chamber.Asked about redactions that protected accused sex criminals? Pivot to the stock market. Asked whether the president attended parties with underage girls? Time to yell about the border. Asked to apologize to victims whose names her DOJ failed to redact? Well, that's just ridiculous. This week on DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH read through the receipts Bondi brought to Congress—receipts showing her DOJ exposed victims of child sex trafficking while protecting billionaire co-conspirators.Also: Dingus Madness bracket voting, Olympic's penisgate, and the tall boy wars.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out. Whole milk. 2% competence. - Dingus of the Week Podcast #12

US Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota stood at a townhall podium this week ready to demand US Department of Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem's resignation. That's when an a man sprayed her with a then-unknown substance. Without missing a beat, Omar kept going—demanding Noem resign or face impeachment."These fucking assholes are not gonna get away with it," Omar told her team before finishing her remarks. Minnesota strong.Behold the Chadly Omar in comparison to the Chudly RFK who has identified America's real crisis: not enough whole milk in school lunches. While ICE agents terrorize communities and cabinet secretaries dodge accountability, the Trump Administration is laser-focused on making whole milk legal again... because you know we made it illegal? Thanksdingus special (FEAT Lindsey Halligan)

In Trump's America, stepping on a rake can be a way of life. This week, interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan got flamed for bypassing the grand jury by moving an indictment that all the jurors hadn't seen in former FBI director James Comey's case. Of course, this was after Halligan misstated Comey's Constitutional rights and missteps in the investigation. Put it simply, it's embarrassing. Another egg on the Trump Administration's vindictive face and ours.On this episode of DINGUS OF THE WEEK, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH yell about the wages of military-grade incompetence. Sowing one wild (Joyce Carol) Oates

While Washington melted down over government shutdowns, SNAP benefits, and the Epstein files, one 87-year-old writer took a sledgehammer to the ego of the richest man alive. Joyce Carol Oates has written 58 novels, a number of plays, and the tombstone epitaph for out-of-touch billionaire Elon Musk. "So curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates..." Oates tweeted, going on to name those basic joys of life. "The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the 'most wealthy person in the world.'" Musk of course answered this was the examination of the richness of his intellect and soul... just kidding. He tweeted, "Everything she says in her post about me can be shown to be demonstrably false with a simple search. Oates is a lazy liar and ... an abuser of semicolons!" In a later tweet: "Oates is a liar and delights in being mean. Not a good human."On this episode of Dingus of the Week, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH play that time-tested American game "Dingus Defense League" where the dingus of one week becomes the unlikely---and let's face it, still annoying---hero of the next. Also on this week's show... Choose your weapon: (Nancy) Mace or club (sandwich)

When it comes to South Carolina's favorite pick-me, the slurs were just the tip of the fragile iceberg. This week, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace returns for her fourth run as HDIC (Head Dingus in Charge). Hear about her dust-up with TSA agents, and why she might want to read the Scarlet Letter before pinning it to her chest. This week on Dingus of the Week, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH argue over the second woman admitted into The Citadel. No safe (David) Harbour

It turns out the strangest thing was David Harbour all along. At least that's according to British pop star Lily Allen's blistering and diverse new album West End Girl. It chronciles a five-year marriage, triste with polyamory, and an unsurprisingly messy divorce. This week on Dingus of the Week, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH argue over whether the pussy palace was ever a dojo. Trump's big dumb ballroom

Trump wants to build a golden ballroom to tower over the White House while normal people face recession, government shutdowns, and food bank lines stretching around the block. On this maiden episode of Dingus of the Week, hosts LYZ LENZ and ZACHARY OREN SMITH argue over whether Trump's telling us to eat cake or call him king. Also, the wildly romantic Louvre heist where thieves stole Napoleon's crown jewels in broad daylight using nothing but scooters, a freight lift, and raw, uncut audacity: an analog crime that, frankly, none of us deserved.DINGUS OF THE WEEK is a weekly comedy news podcast where writers Lyz and Zach light a fire under the American rogue's gallery to see who comes spilling out.
