07-16-26 Not Love, but a Miami Connection
Brad and Paul continue the Disasters in the Making bad-movie Mount Rushmore with the glorious cult chaos of Miami Connection. It has everything a certain kind of ’80s action disaster needs: motorcycle ninjas, drug dealers, martial arts, rock-band sincerity, questionable acting, and the unstoppable power of friendship. The guys dig into the strange magic of Y.K. Kim’s dream project, the Dragon Sound phenomenon, the Orlando-that-thinks-it’s-Miami geography, and the baffling creative choices that somehow make the movie more lovable instead of less. It is part karate movie, part rock musical, part after-school special, and all beautiful cinematic wreckage.

Disasters in the Making: 07-02-26 “Covering the 5-0 with a blade with SAMURAI COP”
Brad and Paul return to the bad-movie Mount Rushmore with one of the all-time direct-to-video disasters: Samurai Cop. The guys dig into the film’s bargain-bin action glory, from its confused buddy-cop setup and wildly inconsistent wig work to the awkward ADR, questionable fight choreography, exploding vans, fake gunfire, and a hero who barely does anything samurai-related until the movie is almost over. Along the way, they celebrate the strange magic of early ’90s B-movies, the lost art of video-store roulette, and the difference between a bad movie that fails and a bad movie that becomes legendary. It is cheap, weird, awkward, unintentionally hilarious, and somehow exactly the kind of cinematic wreckage Disasters in the Making was built to honor.

Disasters in the Making: 05-21-26 “We Found a New Classic In CHAMPAGNE & BULLETS”
This week on Disasters in the Making, Brad and Paul take on Champagne and Bullets, the 1993 indie action oddity also known as GetEven and Road to Revenge. Written, directed, produced by and starring John De Hart, with Wings Hauser, William Smith and Pamela Jean Bryant, this revenge thriller somehow mixes disgraced cops, corrupt judges, satanic cults, country singing, awkward romance and enough B-movie chaos to make the popcorn file a workplace complaint.
