This was originally recorded on camera but there was also a mic in the middle of the room - though as you will hear, it's a bit of a recording sandwich with the slightly more decent recording forming the bread and the slightly more raw camera audio forming the filling. Follow? Nice. It's a really cool chat, incredibly freeform and without defined topics and certainly not recorded with the shape and craft you might expect of late-era Distraction Pieces. But think of it as the 'Distraction Pieces Basement Tapes' - a lively chat of varying audio quality which functions nicely as a time capsule. It's also uncanny hearing about predictions for the following decade - eerie how much has been manifested since... The audio has been cleaned up a touch but sometimes with this kind of sound, things can get worse the more you try and scoop out of it, so just allow your ears to get familiar with it and you'll be grand. Let alone artificial intelligence. This is some novel-worthy stuff right here. Anyway - without getting too caught up in all of the chaos, FullFact is a VERY important organisation who specialise in neutralising dis/mis-information and set out to fully fact check what gets out there, so listen knowing that you can and should check in on their site regularly. From her current position looking after a seemingly unending crew of animals on her farm (rescue dogs - which you will hear from, alpacas, llamas, boars, ponies, horses, chickens and for sure there are more than that), which was preceded by her run on the chaotic and awesome and also very zoo-like Soccer AM (which changed and influenced the TV game in huge ways), she has been sports and animal-adjacent for a good portion of said career. But as you will hear, she has always landed on her feet on top of the game and won the hearts of those around her. Oh and she will mess you up good at poker too. Believe. From the earlier days discovering Hip Hop via a cool teacher, to peppering raps with humour while not laughing at the artform, poems about maths and verging on being typecast as the 'maths poet' (though he does do the only poem with a pi-solo), silence and holding the room, developing technique the hard way by working rooms, Bestival, all the way up to daily poem writing through the first 100 days of a newborn.
