    And a Doctor Who Wishlist

The last episode of season two has aired and been reviewed, which means it's time for the wrap-up episode! Kat, Liz, and Tansy have gathered to give their opinion on Ncuti's time as the Doctor, the wonderful companion Belinda Chandra, and create their wishlists for the future of Doctor Who. As for the future of Verity! the podcast is taking a break for now, but we'll let you know what's next as soon as we know. Lynne and Erika couldn't make the episode, but they've given their Doctor Who future wishlists: Erika's Wishlist: 1. I want MORE WRITERS! My favourite eps have been the non-RTD eps, and I would like more of those (preferably from a very diverse set of writers). 2. I want new blood at the helm -- someone who grew up on the modern series not the classic series. And for the love of Susan, not a white dude, please. 3. Speaking of Susan, I'd like Carole Ann Ford to get an actual, proper appearance that genuinely works and isn't weird nonsense. (Yes, I'm referring to both her onscreen appearances and the rumours of what was supposed to happen before the rewrites. I think it's all nonsense.) Lynne's Wishlist: 1. I wish that the BBC would openly recognize Doctor Who as a unique and wonderful thing that only the BBC could have created and be proud of it instead of treating it more often than not as something they grudgingly tolerate. 2. I wish for a sufficient number of well-crafted episodes to directly match up with the time and money that are available to create them. 3. I wish for more bold and inclusive storytelling. This season felt like Doctor Who was starting to find its groove again, and I would hate to lose that momentum. 4. BRING BACK RIVER SONG! Dearest listener, what does your wishlist for Doctor Who look like? What have we missed in our reviews? Leave us a comment or join the discussion on Instagram and Bluesky. Listen to Liz (and Paul's) podcast Telefantasy Time Jump! ^K

  2. 543

    Reality War and Peace

The tricky thing about reviewing two-parters is trying to give an opinion when you haven't seen both halves. Well, these Verities have now seen both parts, and they have opinions. Join Erika, Liz, and Lynne as they talk regenerations, new-to-us history, and all those plot twists. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this finale! Leave a comment here, send us an email, or join the growing discussion over on BlueSky or Instagram. Oh, and join us on the next episode for our end-of-season wrap-up! ^K

  3. 542

    Waiting on a Wish World

From 19th-century Bavaria, with ducks and an owl, to a 1950s world complete with slips and a thriving mug industry - doubt is what it's all about. So, join Erika, Kat, and Liz as we dissect the doubts and talk through the events of "Wish World." We've wished for resolved cliffhangers in the final episode, have you? We'd love to hear your thoughts on this penultimate episode of Doctor Who! Take a moment to leave a comment here, send us an email, or join the discussion over on BlueSky or Instagram. ^K If you're new to Doctor Who or just not a big fan of the classic series, here are some of the Omega-related monsters we mentioned: The Gell Guards invade Unit HQ in the Three Doctors The Ergon (or "an" Ergon according to the Fifth Doctor)

  4. 541

    The Intertextual Song Contest

Eurovision meets Die Hard, in SPACE? As though that's not enough to discuss, many fans (and Verities) have finally had their theories validated. Join Tansy, Kat, and Lynne as they talk about their experiences with Eurovision, break down the Interstellar Song Contest, and then spend some quality time examining the two big, exciting twists in the episode. What did you think of The Interstellar Song Contest? Had you watched Eurovision before this, or did Doctor Who introduce you to this annual extravaganza? We'd love to hear from you! Take a moment to leave a comment here, send us an email, or join us over on BlueSky or Instagram. ^K Finding Eurovision, Kat's Eurovision podcast mini-series. The Catherynne Valente novels Lynne talked about: Space Opera & Space Oddity

The Story & the Engine No. 9

From market stalls to barbershops, the fifth episode of the second season, "The Story and the Engine," showcases Nigeria, places that bring people together, and storytelling. This story also brought Erika, Kat, and Lynne together to discuss it, and let's be honest, there's a lot of joy in the story and the podcast, too. What were your thoughts about "The Story & and the Engine?" Were you as enthusiastic about it like us or did you see it differently? Take a moment to leave a comment here, send us an email, or join us over on BlueSky or Instagram. ^K Doctor Who: Unleashed is mentioned throughout the episode.

  6. 539

    Lucky Day Tripper

We have the full gamut of opinions, or perhaps a well-structured focus group, on this episode of Verity! Lynne, Kat, and Tansy discuss the episode Lucky Day, including its plot points and plot holes.  Of course, many questions are still left unanswered, but that makes it even more fun to talk about them. What did you think about Lucky Day? And was this a Ruby Sunday episode or a UNIT episode?  Leave a comment here, email us, or join us on BlueSky or Instagram. ^K

  7. 538

    Diamond Well Blues

Sometimes the creepiest monsters in Doctor Who are the ones you never see... In this episode, Liz, Kat, and Lynne review the new Doctor Who episode "The Well." We discuss how our preferences for companions are changing, how alphabets work, and just talk about how much we're liking Doctor Who right now. What did you think about "The Well?" Did you think it was the scariest thing that RTD has ever written? Are you a fan of "Midnight?" Leave a comment here, send us an email, or join us over on BlueSky or Instagram. ^K The Making of The Well: Doctor Who Unleashed! on YouTube

  8. 537

    The Wordle of Ruby Sunday

The Doctor divides his attention between saving the world and helping Ruby learn about her past (thank you, VHS tapes), while Deb, Erika, Kat, and Tansy divide their attention between discussing Sutekh, thoughts on the Time Window, and the positive changes being made at U.N.I.T.    As mentioned in the episode:  - Joy Piedmont talks to Chris Chibnall on Reality Bomb 106A. - It's never Susan (except for in Warren's music video) We realize there's still another part to be aired, so anything can change, but what were your thoughts on "The Legend of Ruby Sunday?" Drop us a message on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, or let us know in the comments! ^K P.S. Can you solve this anagram? "I invest lottery"
