Born in Kinston, NC and raised in a few places to include Philadelphia, PA, Washington D.C, and San Antonio, TX she is no stranger to life’s adversities. It is through her own healing journey having experienced childhood trauma, anxiety, & depression that the company Soulstice Exchange was cultivated. In 2017 she completed a holistic healing certification and is also currently an International Sports & Science Association certified personal trainer. When asked how physical health and wellness ties into spiritual well being she stated "everything we do be it for the betterment of who we are spiritually, mentally, physically, and/or emotionally helps to align us in a way that allows each and every one of us to be fully present in the world not only for ourselves but for others. Niechia is a wife and mother of 3 on a mission to share her story with the world and educate others on the benefits of holistic wellness.

    Catrell was born and raised in Bradenton, FL and entered active military service in July 2001 as a Supply Management Technician. Her background includes Logistics and Airfield Management duties at locations in Louisiana, South Korea, Georgia, Nevada, and Guam. She experienced a rocky start at the beginning of her career and it was not always easy. She started an organization called FLEX, which means “Fulfill Limitless Expectations.” She came up with this mantra because she did not always believe in herself or her abilities. This movement has spread with supporters across the globe. She is an avid believer in inspiring and pushing individuals to be their best selves. She mentored young girls under the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and believes that everyone has greatness in them as long as they believe it first.

    Kathya Alexander is a writer, actor, storyteller, and teaching artist. Her writing has appeared in ColorsNW Magazine, Arkana Magazine, Raising Lilly Ledbetter, and the Pitkin Review. She won the Jack Straw Artist Support Program Award; 4Culture’s Artists Projects Award; and the WRAP Award, Youth Arts Award, and the CityArtist Award from Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture. Her play, HomeGoing, was chosen for residency at Hedgebrook Women’s Writer's Retreat and her play, Black To My Roots: African American Tales from the Head and the Heart, won the Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award in Edinburgh, Scotland for Outstanding New Production. Together he and his wife Krysten have 6 kids one of which is special needs. They co-run run the family business Cooks With Soul. They specialize in recipe development, food blogging, and food photography. They also have our own custom spice blends that are handmade to order available on our website www.cookswithsoul.com. The goal for their business is to make recipes and content that allow the everyday home cook to feel like a gourmet chef. "Food really is a passion of mine, and I have been cooking since my mom started teaching me when I was about 9-10 years old." His plans are to retire from military in 2022 and focus 100% on our business. I am looking at starting a food trailer or truck as well as doing in home personal chef cooking and pop up kitchens.

    Sherlonda Sharps originally from Annapolis, MD has been in the Air Force for almost 21 years, she entered the Air Force as a 2S0 Supply troop and retrained 3 years later to Comm, a 3D0X2 whose career field has undergone multiple changes throughout her career. Her Air Forceversary is November 24th. She has been dubbed by her troops at multiple assignments as “Momma Bear” and even though she doesn’t share that name at each assignment somehow one of them gives it to her again. She is family oriented, so she believes this is where the moniker comes from. She has 2 children Son Shamon 18 and daughter ShaMiya 9. Everything she does is for them. She recently started a business during. Her ultimate goal is to be a business consultant, women’s empowerment speaker, and overall business mogul. Right now, she is currently producing journals. She’s found that during the pandemic journaling and writing has helped her stay focused and grounded and decided to share her love of that with the world. Her store is expected to open soon for holiday shopping.

    Attorney Artessia “Tess” House manages Tess House Law, PLLC in San Antonio, Texas. Tess House Law, PLLC’s mission is to speak for those unable to speak from themselves. The firm represents victims in federal civil rights cases. On the local level, the firm represents children and parents in suits filed by the government and private family law matters. Born the eldest of four children in San Antonio, Texas, Attorney House earned a B.A. in Political Science from St. Mary’s University. Ms. House went on to earn a Texas Educator Certificate after fulfilling the requirements of the state of Texas and regulations of the State Board for Educator Certification. She later earned her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.     Today's Guest on Dopee Conversations is Ms Tonya Nixon. Tonya is a native of Austin, Texas who has been a peace officer 16 years. She is currently the Sergeant at the Travis County Constable Precinct One office. She recently won the race for Travis County Constable Precinct One during the Texas Primary Elections held in March. Tonya will not face an opponent in the November General Election making her the first black woman to run and win the seat of Constable in the Central Texas area. Tonya is a member of the JPCA (Justices of Peace and Constables Association) and other prestigious councils and committees, one to highlight is th National Council of Negro Women. Tonya has received numerous awards and recognition for her role in educating and empowering our youth. She was the 2018 MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Mitchie Mitchell Commitment to Youth Award recipient. Tonya believes if we fail to educate our children our future is empty. Tonya strongly believes community policing and being actively involved is the only way to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.
