Hello, hello, hello. This is Linda M Hughes, psychic medium and grief coach here.In a quiet conversation, my husband in spirit shared the following with me:He said that happiness and joy are not dependent on how much sadness and suffering I can accumulate. He said that it is not yin and yang or a scale that needs to always be in balance. The goal is to accumulate as much joy from living the life of a human as is possible… all parts of it. He feels that we humans get it wrong. Experiencing sadness makes us appreciate joy more, but that doesn’t mean that we need to go out and accumulate more sadness just to get more joy.Rather, that in everything we do in our lives, we need to seek out as much joy as we can stand, knowing that at times, we will also experience sadness. He asked me not to seek out sadness, just to satisfy some kind of mental balance between the two. He ended with this: “You are a spiritual being in a human body, and both require joy in order to thrive.” And as always, I leave you with love, peace, hope and Inspiration.

When my son died, I was a personal trainer that worked with those who wanted their physical fitness to be less about inches and pounds lost and more about learning great fun and physical hobbies.   We figured and rightly so that their fitness would come from the joy of the doing of these outdoor adventures.  What this meant was that for most of the year, our classes were held outside at the trailhead to a local river trail.  During this whole experience, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven.  I mean who would have ever thought I could have so much fun, get paid to be in the fresh air, loving the scenery, listening to the steady rush of the river, hearing the bugs buzz, birds chirp and watching the wildlife shadows flit against the magnificent trees?  And who would have ever imagined getting paid to share this with others.  Wow, did we have a great time together.  His death brought a darkness to my world for many weeks, asyou can imagine.  What it also brought was the presence of 3 redtail hawks, mighty birds who swooped into our lives and kept us company all day.  They would arrive early in the morning, wind currents pulling them down towards us as weworked on our different projects.  They would leave the wind current, swooping into our field of vision, dropping closer to us with each pass.  Then, they would hover, make sure that we saw them,  and then abruptly jet off and away.  They would return several other times throughout the day, repeating that checking in greeting. We all marveled at this, in awe at their beauty.  One day, a friend/student remarked that she had heard that hawks were messengers from the Spirit Realm, and maybe thesewere my son, sister and father.  Intrigued by this, that evening I googled it for myself.  Sure enough, that is what I read aswell.  So, then, when they swooped in on us from that point on, we would greet them by the names of my family members that had crossed over.  When my husband died 3 years later, the lights went out inmy world for a long time.  The only thing that kept me sane was going to work on the river trailhead.  It and my friend/clients kept me grounded while I worked through my grief.  Thank you for this my dear friends.  But, amazingly enough, a 4th hawk joined the other 3.  And their attempts to get and keep our attentions became noticeable.  I will share many of these in future posts, but, there was one time in particular that was astonishing to us now and then.  I know I took one of us took pictures of this, but I can’t find them now to share. My group and I ended a session and decided to walk around the neighborhood before we went home, kind of a cooling off period.  As we walked, a single hawk started to follow us.  At first, it followed from behind, landing on fenceposts, waiting and watching. As we started to notice and realize that it was not accidental or random, we would pause and talk to it.  My friends were convinced that it was a hawk with messages from myhusband.  Then, the hawk flew in front of us, skipping ahead one fence post at a time.  As we got closer, it would fly ahead. This happened until we returned to the trailhead, where it finally took off into the setting sun.Of course, when I made contact with my husband and could ask him if this had been him making contact with me, he declined to answer.  He never said no, he has never said yes.  But he always emphasizes that hawks are messengers, not the physical representation of the lost loved one.  Regardless, light returned to my world and I will always look for the awesome mysteries of our world.  Not everything needs a scientific answer in black and white.  I send you all peace, love, hope and inspiration this day.  Thanks for listening. 

Today I am changing the name of this podcast to “Signs and Wisdom Received From Loved Ones In Spirit”.  I am doing this because my loved ones share all kinds of wisdom with me – valuable insight on living.  Until today’s brainstorm, I have had nowhere to put these beautiful words of wisdom.  I will alternate between these wisdoms and the signs every Tuesday, as usual. A year after my son died, I received a “connection dream” with him.  I asked him today if I could share it with you all.  He said I could share only the parts that were not personal and that would make sense to other Moms, Dads and family members.  In the dream, I had been telling him how upset I was about losing him and that it was so great to be able to connect.  Gently, but firmly, he said, “Stop!"   I replied, “Stop what?” He answered, "Where I am now is all thought energy, everything runs on thoughts.  So, when you are so negative, it feels like you are striking me, it hurts.  I know, don't worry, I was the same way when I first got here. So, think aboutyour love for me, that will set you on a better thought track.... no, not your pain of missing me, your love of me... ok, that 's better.” I then asked him, "I want to know all about where you are now, if you are safe, if you are loved, where are you?"   Still firm, but more gently, he answered, “"Mom, first of all there are some rules, not like on Earth, more like facts that don't transfer to the Earth, like scientific facts.  They just are and you accept them.  The first is that everything is a thought. There is no safety, or harm unless you think it.  There is love if you accept it.  So, whatever we think just is.  At first, I was outraged and angry and I missed you, Dad and Sisterlike crazy.  I cried all the time.  Other Spirits kept guiding me through and I finally got the hang of how to live again."    "Mom, just trust.  Trust that this is as real as can be and I will be able to get through.  Anyway, you are probably going to wake up soon, and then you will be gone.  Just know that I love you."   I answered in the dream, “I love you too Son!” and woke up. Then, I got my dream journal out and hurriedly wrote down everything I could remember, before I forgot.   For those of you who have lost a loved one, this is my first suggestion for you:  Get and keep a dream journal.  I am by no means a sleep/ dream expert, but here are the 3 types of dreams I get.  The 1st type are “taking out the mental trash” dreams. Nonsensical, disjointed, grievance clearing dreams that just seem to combine all the stresses of life into that chaotic dream state.  I don’t write about these, I just let them gointo the trash bin unhindered. The 2nd type are “take notes for later” dreams. These are dreams that turn recent thoughts and ideas into technicolor, surround sound, get the popcorn extravaganzas. They present the ideas in such a way that when I awaken, I know that with more thought, planning and elbow grease, they could become a reality that I want. I quickly write these down. The 3rd type are “connection dreams” with my loved ones in Spirit, highly emotional, always leaving me filled with more love for them, as well as profound hope and inspiration.   Just get a spiral notebook and pen, set it within easy reach of your bed.  When you feel the need, grab it, write fast, putit back and resume sleep.  Read it in the morning and you will be amazed at what you find.   Sweet dreams everyone!

Linda M Hughes, psychic medium and griefcoach here.  That title is a bit redundant, because any message from any Loved One would change anybody’s life.  But it was especially true, the day I received this one from my husband, who had died several months before.  The night he died, I had vowed to let his life mean more to me than his death.  That was easier somedays’ to do than others.  There was never 1 thing that would trigger me into a soggy bundle of tears.  Rather, it was the realization that he would never wake up by my side on any other morning. He would never text me again to ask me if I needed something from the grocery store on his way home.  He would never walk through the doors, excited to tell me about his day.  He would never pull me close to him for a great night’s sleep.  It was the most simple, basic and ordinary tasks of a life well lived with the same man for 44 years that triggered me..I was sitting in my kitchen, preparing to go for my daily walk. I started to put my shoe on, suddenly breaking down, crying so hard that I couldn’t see the laces to finish tying them. It was one of the lowest points that I had ever had.  Wiping mytears away, I resumed tying my shoes.  And plain as day, clear as a bell, I heard my husband say, “Put PMA on the wall, Linda.”  I was shocked by this and started crying all over again.He was reminding me of another day long ago, when I had gone through another low point.  I had survived an almost life ending car wreck, and was having trouble re-enteringthe normal rhythm of life.  One morning during that time, he had gotten up before me, took magic marker and typing paper and wrote out the letters P M A.  Then he hadtaped that sign up on the refrigerator.When I came into the kitchen, I didn’t see the sign, I first saw him sitting across from it, sipping his coffee while smiling this huge, radiant, beaming smile. Just feeling the love shining through his smile made me smile.  He motioned to the sign, I read it, frowned and said, “and so what is this?”He said it stood for “positive mental attitude” and every time I saw it, he wanted me to think of one positive thing in my life or day.  I growled, “sure, that’ll fix everything”.  But, I decideddoing it was easy and wouldn’t hurt anything to do.Later that day I had scheduled a job interview.  My first thought of the day was that somehow, someway they were going to see that I was worth hiring.  At the time, I was a junior level  member working hard towards becoming a middlelevel member on a land surveying crew.  Before the accident, I was in serious contender status, just waiting for anopening.  The car accident had been so severe, the recovery time had taken too long and that company let me go.  I was applying with a new company at the middle level position.  Go big or stay at home, right, after all I had PMA on my side.The interview went well.  When I got into my car to drive home, I realized I had forgotten to take the patch off of the eye that had been injured in  the accident.  My heart sunk, I drove home totally depressed that I had blown the interview.  The middle level position was one that required eyesight in both eyes.  My injured eye had recovered, but my new glasses had not come in yet, and the patch made driving easier until I could wear them.  My husband had come home early and was on the phone.  He handed the receiver to me instead.  It was my new boss, welcoming me to the company, asking could start on Monday?From that moment on to the present one, PMA had been my constant companion.  My friends started calling it my special PMA magic.  Magic that I had completely forgotten until I heard my husbands voice speaking it to me that morning.  And of course, I wrote it out, hung it on the fridge, opened up computer and began learning how to connect to my husbandthrough psychic development.  And my world opened up to me in ways I never ever expected.

In my early adulthood, I used to take the time to schedule, preparemyself and be the lone attendee of monthly “rituals” to celebrate the wonders of Nature and all of its bounty. I gradually let these “rituals” go as I got busy raising my children and working my Husband to create our thriving family business. Time flew by, I lost my Dad and Sister. When I lost my Son and Husband, I could not ignore the calling to return to those “rituals”, except now they had a definite purpose. That purpose was to stand in the raw beauty of Nature, casting an invisible circle from ground up to the Heavens, calling for my loved ones to join me. I arrive for every ritual early enough to see the sunrise. The first time I did this after I had lost my Son and Husband,I arrived in time to see the first rays of a new Sun as they shot out from the horizon. These golden beams lit up the sky above the rounded, rolling hills as if they were spikes on a golden crown. Perfect in every way. I went through every step of my ritual from beginning to the end. It was a glorious couple of hours, but sadly, I did not receive any signs from my loved ones. A little let down, I put away the things that I had brought with me, which included pictures of each loved one. I put the last picture away, and was slinging the duffle bag over my shoulder when I heard the raucous cries of birds. I turned around and watched as 4 beautiful hawks swooped down into my field of vision. They circled me several times,hovering right in front of me. And then, each peeled off and gracefully spread out over the valley, doing long, lazy figure eights. I would lose sight of them as they dropped below the foothills, just to see them shoot up further down.And then, one by one, they shot out ahead, gradually disappearing into the horizon. Look for your loved ones in everything you do. To set the stage for you, it didn’t occur to me after the death of my son in 2018 that I could learn to connect with him, otherwise I would have. However, it never occurred to me that I could NOT connect with my husband.  There were too many signs that started with 3 days after his physical death. A friend took my daughter and I to a medium and although it was too early to actually connect with my husband, we did connect with our son/brother. As my friend drove away, I was googling how to learn how to do this for myself. After a few false starts, I did find instruction from a well known psychic medium who had created an online school during the height of covid. I signed up, took the courses, learned how to connect and have been doing it ever since. But, let’s just say that the beginning was a lot rockier than I had anticipated. I had had no previous experience doinganything like this, so I had to start at the beginning in every way. After taking a couple of sessions on steps 1, 2 and 3, I decided to experiment. One of these first sessions was about building your external and internal sacred space. Got it! I had this! I built the portable external space near the place that I had had the parks dept plant trees to honor both my son and husband. Then, I was going to model that place as I created the internal space. I am a nut about details, so I was sitting at the kitchen table, drawing the way I wanted things to look. I would ketch a bit, make notes, and then finally declared out loud, yes, this is it! This will work.I heard my husbands voice, say very clearly, “So this is where we are going to meet then?” I saw a flaw in my drawing and started to erase and correct it. I replied, “yes, but I need tofinetune this detail right here. Then I will be happy with it.” And then it hit me like a thunderbolt. My husband had asked a question, and I had answered it as if he were standing inthe room and we were talking about what to make for dinner. I turned towards where I had heard his voice, quickly glanced around the rest of the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, or to sense his presence in some way. Nothing. I was disappointed, but supercharged! If this happened, just think what might happen when I began toactually do the recommended assignments! WOWOWOW! When I finally did connect with him, I asked if he remembered this. On the day I will tell you about, the loss of my husband was still new and raw. I had my earpods in, listening to a playlist of celtic bellydance music as I walked up to visit the tree that we had had the parks department plant in his honor. Three years earlier, they had also planted a tree in myson’s honor, so I always visited this tree as well. Today I was especially emotional as I turned around to head back to my car. I just looked up and whispered to my husband, “please send me a sign… please let me know you are okand not in pain anymore”. Then I stumbled through the tall grasses back to the sidewalk to head home. Suddenly the music changed to a rock and roll song. WHAT Iam thinking is happening to my playlist. I was about ready to take the phone out of my pocket and find a new playlist, when the chorus of the song started playing. The song playing was "Faithfully" by Journey. Nowhere on my channel did I have this or any other song by Journey requested, heard or listened to by me. But, when I listened to the words, it was as if this songhad been written by my husband to me. It spoke of our past, as we had both been traveling construction workers when we had decided to become parents. It spoke to years of him being a musician in a local rock and roll band. But, mostly thewords just struck me right in the heart. And I knew that this was the sign he was giving me. I am including the words in the description of the videoand also on my blog. I listened to that song every night before sleep. And this habit literally made life easier to get through. Because, I knew, I just knew, that even though he did not write or sing them to me in life, he was sending them to me now. And that made all the difference to me. Don’t discount or let these signs bounce off of you becausethey are not “proof” or explainable. Instead, just accept them with the love and joy that was intended for you by your loved one. Two days after my Husband died, my brother texted me to see how I was doing. We had the expected kind of conversation – continuing check-ins on physical and mental health, condolences and memories shared, he throwing me a lifeline whenever needed. And then I disconnected.But, when I did, I noticed that my phone showed that he had texted me while we were actually actively texting each other. I include that text in the video recording and also on my blog post. It was a garbled message with isolated letters, and various oddly placed punctuation, a stray comment saying, “…nurse brought her…”. The number sequences included “6”, “…The 88z”, “55 inches followed by 5555”, a random phrase “7AM” and “9~ALTA”, more random punctuation and ended with another 8. Regarding the phrase, “nurse brought her”, and as a point of reference, I had been hospitalized with COVID a week after my husband had been. He had then been transferred to a different hospital for a specialized surgery, before I had actually left the one I was in. I came home but he did not. I was convinced that it was an attempt made by my husband to communicate with me. Trying to decode it, I started with numerology. I focused mainly on the “5’s” as they were the most predominant number. It appears that repeated “5’s” are widely considered a "master change" number, signaling a transition from the old to the new. Immediately after reviewing this text, I forwarded it to my brother, who called me back. We tried to figure out what it could mean and both decided it was a message from him. After ending this call, he called me back a few minutes later to share that he had received similar messages after my son had died 3 years before. At the time, he thought it was just nuisance spam. I have since asked both my husband and son about them and neither remembers anything about it one way or another. When my husband died in 2021, my overwhelming sense of loss was somewhat cushioned by the knowledge that he would try to connect with me.  I figured that he would meet up with our son Charlie, they would compare notes and determine which connection attempts had worked and which ones had not. And then they would both try using the things that worked.Chuck connected within 3 days.  I awoke freezing cold in the middle of the night.  I reached down to the end of the bed to pull the spare blanket onto me.  As I pulled it, my skin was covered in goose bumps, what I now call "psyche bumps". I felt a presence standing right where he used to stand, before he would get into bed.  He was there, I knew he was there.  I could not see him, but I sensed him.  If I had leaned forward, I could have outlined the shape of his body with my handsperfectly.  But he was very confused, he stepped forward, paused in total confusion and withdrew.  I spoke softly to him, telling him that it was alright.  I pulled the blanket back and asked him to join me.  He stayed for a moment more and then vanished.This happened every night for a week. Before his death, I had made a commitment to attend an event in another city. A friend and I had arranged to split the cost of a hotel. Everything went according to plan, except that she had had car trouble and said she would arrive late. We arranged access for her at the front desk, I went to bed and to sleep. I felt the familiar "psyche bumps" and woke up immediately. I sensed him next to me and started to talk softly just as I did at home. My friend chose that exact time to arrive, fumbling with her key card outside the door. He vanished very quickly. He never repeated this type of visit again.I always figured that maybe he had accidentally found a "wormhole" or a special way to come back home, was startled by my friend and gave up trying to figure out how to get back. It was an island of calm, peace and sharing of memories. We also talked about common problems and how we individually solve them. And of course we talked about the “signs” we have observed. One such sign was about how one woman’s husband made his presence known to her. Laying on her side, she had just gone to bed, starting to calm herself for a restful evening. Sensing his presence, she felt him touch her hip with his finger, applying just enough pressure to get her attention. Then the touch and his presence were gone, mission accomplished. It’s always wonderful to know when they reach out to get our attention, reassuring us that they are physically gone, but not energetically. Linda M Hughes, Psychic Medium and Grief Coach here.  My daughter wanted me to share one of several ways that her brother and father have shared messages of comfort and reassurance with her. She says that the 1st time she just knew that he was with her was the day she was on the river boating with friends. Beautiful sunny day, she was reclined back thinking about her Dad. She had gotten a tattoo representing him several months before his death. And on that particular sunny day, a dragonfly landed on this tattoo and stayed there. It was very still, very calm, staying way too long to be coincidental. She says that a most profound sense of peace, calm and love settled over her, just like the old days when she and her Dad were just hanging out. And now, years later, she has many of these same calming encounters with that dainty creature. She also wanted to share that many times she is lost in a memory of her brother, a hummingbird will appear. It fliesclose enough to get her attention, hovering right in front of her for just a bit too long. And then once she has noticed it, has said his name and smiles, the bird will jet off somewhere else. She laughed when she told me, because to her, this bird and its actions are a reflection of the joy that he had in beingalive, and also in how much fun he had when teasing her. Anytime you find yourself thinking about your Loved One In Spirit, be prepared and take notice of any of the worlds amazing creatures stopping by to hang out with you in ways that they wouldn’t normally do so. When my son died in 2018, the experience was so raw, sopainful and so unbelievably brutal to my entire being.  I had no coping mechanism, no strategies, no anything to tie me to the ground and help me through it.  I had heard of Mediums, but thinking of talking to one had never even crossed mymind.Until weird things started happening.  The boldest one happened about 3 days after Charlie had died.  His father and I were driving home from the grocery store, some random song was playing on the radio, we were both lost inpainful thoughts.  Two things happened at once.  The radio started playing one of Charlie's favorite songs. Only from memory, I tried and could not find any recording with that or a similar title on facebook, or google, now or since.Regardless, that day began a long, hopeful time of receiving what we truly believed were messages from him.  His messages for us were and have always been ones oflove and hope.If you got something out of this recording, please comment, like, share and subscribe for free. These signs always leave me feeling calm, at peace and knowing that my loved ones are near. Sometimes, the ingenuity of the sign also leaves me feeling blessed. Sometimes, they make me laugh in joy because theyfit the personalities of the senders so well! There is a 2 part sign that has been sent to me by all of my loved ones and it changes as you become aware of it. In thebeginning, when you first experience this sign, there will be a sudden, unexplainable drop in the air temperature around you. Many times, this first part is missed altogether, because it may only happen at night. Your natural reaction would be to pull up the covers and sleep on. Why at night? Night visits are more common because you are calm and either asleep or in a resting state. This is when your loved onemay believe that they could actually get your attention. You may also reject the 2nd part because it is a natural reaction to being cold. The best way to describe it is that youwill experience a rapid, flush of shivers in one area of your body, all at once, with no warning or explanation. It will sweep across your skin, hover for a short time and then be gone. And it does not act at all like a normal “shiverbecause you are cold” physical response, as it may vary in location, intensity or duration. Trust me, you will know. After experiencing it once, you will start to tune into it. And once your loved one in spirit becomes aware of when you notice it, they will repeat it at those times. I named this sign “psyche bumps” when Istarted to receive them during the day. My husband had a habit of sending them to me midday, when I took a lunch break. Here is where you can hear about all of the types of signs that our loved ones in spirit may send to us.  These signs may be small, big, surprising, or very familiar.  You might receive them inside, outside, andat any time of day.  They may be sent by radio, TV, cellphones, computers or other electronics.  Signs can be conveyed in the music that you both shared.  They may be whimsical, teasing, funny, and are always sent with love.The one thing I can guarantee is that the personality of your loved one will really shine in the types of signs that they will sent you.   Take a break from the hard work of loss to spend a few minutes hearing how others have had a chance to connect briefly with their loved one in spirit.  And if you have not received a sigh, don’t worry or get depressed.  It may not be the time yet.  My advice in this case is to stay alert.  If you think it might have been a sign, but you just don’t know… journal it for some other time.  No matter what, and if you feel up to it, please share them with us.
