In Toxic Metropolis, Huxley-the top politician in the Mad, Mad City-confronts the three men who failed to Capture Max. Meanwhile, across town, the madman High Voltage overhears a juicy bit of information while guzzling Starjuice at the local dive. With ambitions to rise through the ranks of Toxic Metropolis, he knows now is his chance to take control.

After a frightful night alone in Rivers Edge Forest, Max is shocked to see a familiar face when he wakes up. With this surprise, Max's sense of purpose and love for his family is immediately renewed. He knows just what he needs to do.

When running away doesn't seem to solve Max's problems, doubt begins to seep into his mind and he begins to feel a tremendous amount of heartache for leaving Cape KOTO and his family. His sadness becomes the least of his problems when Max realizes he is not alone in the woods...someone or something is out there...watching him.
