016:EcoSpirituality for the 21st Century
We are welcoming back the Grand Arch Druid of our Order Dana O'Driscoll who joined us on episode 3. Along with Nate who joined us on episode 8 of our podcast. They have a book that is available for sale right now Called EcoSpirituality in the 21st Century. Revisioning Nature, Community, and Connection For a Better Tomorrow. In the introduction it asks, how much of the creation around dystopian media and genres have reenchanted our collective and our vision for ill? Then it asks what are the stories we are telling ourselves, and what is the vision we are collectively creating in the here and now?The book is described as a grimoire to dispel a dark future, and a magical act designed to help us create and reveal a new future freeing us from the dystopian world we have all woken up to.What this book offers is a vision that takes us out of overshoot and back into a place of balance by connecting with nature, ourselves, spirit, and our communities. A “New Paradigm for the future that isn’t unique to a single community or place, but it is emerging in very diverse communities. The theme of this vision are not any single person’s vision, but a confluence of so many different people and communities learning how to reconnect and how to heal the earth, and to offer an alternative to the current vision of the future.”Eco Spirituality synthesizes information, from a range of traditions and laying out some of the most powerful tools from the worlds of magic. The authors offer a “vision of a time when humans have repaired and explored a more balanced interaction with the living earth, a vision that offers sacred spirituality rooted in the wisdom of our ancestors, and a vision that creates a world of balance for future generations.”Eco Spirituality is Available for order at: https://thedruidsgarden.com/eco-spirituality-in-the-21st-century-revisioning-nature-community-and-connection/Nate's Website: https://www.primalnate.com/AODA Website:https://aoda.org/AODA Curriculum Overview:http://aoda.org/aoda-membership/curriculum-requirements/Gnostic Celtic Church: https://aoda.org/aoda-structure/gnostic-celtic-church-gcc/A Vision for AODA Druidry: Seven Core Principles of AODA:https://aoda.org/vision/AODA Discord Server:https://discord.gg/y5CCaw7ctTAODA Forums:https://forum.aoda.org/AODA Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/AODADruidryAODA You Tube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs-5YgIfi1jiC_EOtViS9WgGrand Arch Druid Dana O’Driscoll Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/druidsgardenart/?hl=enPodcast Contact Email:[email protected] Instagram:https://instagram.com/druidwisdompodcast?utm_medium=copy_link

013: Larisa White Author of World Druidry: A Globalizing Path of Nature Spirituality.
Larisa White is an author, educator, and independent scholar, based in the Coast Range Mountains of California, where she spends her free time building wildlife habitats, and restoring native ecosystems on lands once tended by the Ramaytush Ohlone.Larisa was raised as a global nomad, relocating every two years as her father designed international airports. Rather than becoming rooted in one place, she spent her childhood bridging gaps between cultures. She learned local languages, participated in local religious celebrations, and adapted to local customs, seasonal cycles, and landscapes. In doing so, she discovered the joy of living the questions, exploring diverse perspectives, and always thinking a little bit differently. After completing her Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University, Larisa spent ten years conducting mixed-methods sociological research on the ways that people learn, grow, and change under the influence of changing educational, cultural, and technological contexts. Her research focus later shifted to the neurobiology of learning, and then to the ways in which people around the world interpret and interact with Nature.Larisa has been a practicing Druid since 2016. She was the OBOD's 23rd Mount Haemus scholar, speaking on "Seasonal Festivals in a Globalizing Tradition," in May of this year. Larisa is a Druid Adept in the AODA, a Novice Monk in the GCC Monastery, and the author of "World Druidry: A Globalizing Path of Nature Spirituality."Links for world druidry project:https://larisa-a-white.com/worlddruidry.htmlLarisa's Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgOUm6zsUfy6HVHUSGYw7ow/playlistsAODA Website:https://aoda.org/AODA Curriculum Overview:http://aoda.org/aoda-membership/curriculum-requirements/Gnostic Celtic Church:https://aoda.org/aoda-structure/gnostic-celtic-church-gcc/A Vision for AODA Druidry: Seven Core Principles of AODA:https://aoda.org/vision/AODA Discord Server:https://discord.gg/y5CCaw7ctTAODA Forums:https://forum.aoda.org/AODA Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/AODADruidryAODA You Tube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs-5YgIfi1jiC_EOtViS9WgGrand Arch Druid Dana O’Driscoll Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/druidsgardenart/?hl=enPodcast Contact Email:[email protected] Instagram:https://instagram.com/druidwisdompodcast?utm_medium=copy_linkClaire’s blog living Low in the Lou:http://livinglowinthelou.blogspot.com/Jack Campbell:www.confabulatorcafe.com/author/jcampbellhttp://www.jackcampbelljr.com/https://jack-campbell-jr.square.site/

007:Kathleen Opon: Archdruid of Fire and Abbess of the GCC Monastery
Kathleen has been a member of AODA since early 2015. Her personal spiritual journey began in Catholicism; traveled through the mysticism of Eastern religions; wound through the earthy wonder of Nature Based Religions; eventually arriving at her spiritual home in contemplative Druidry, the AODA and the GCC. As a Druid Apprentice Kathleen became an AODA Mentor. After advancing to the Companion Degree Kathleen developed and coordinated the AODA Member Outreach program and earned the title of Grand Almoner. Claire Schosser has followed winding physical, vocational, and spiritual paths during her 60+ years of life. Her blog, Living Low in the Lou, documents her efforts to apply the scientific method and ecological concepts to vegetable gardening and her and her husband Mike’s work to reduce their negative impact on the earth. Her Druid path combines the ecological with the spiritual through her gardening practice, her Stream Team work with the local creek, and the Dolmen Arch practices she learned from taking the course. Having completed the Dolmen Arch course in summer 2019, she is qualified to teach it to others.AODA’s podcast focuses on exploring the many aspects of modern druidry through interviewing druids from many walks of life. In our very first episode Keara and Dave talk about the Ancient Order of Druids in America's highly adaptable curriculum that allows members to "wildcraft" their own individual druid path of nature spirituality and inner transformation through personal experience rather than dogmatic belief. We discuss our mentoring program and the independent sacramental church of nature spirituality; The Gnostic Celtic Church, the center of the religious dimension of our tradition. We explore through the AODA values which include the seven core principles that honor the past, respond to the present, and, through nature-based spiritual practice, offer tools to shape the future. The AODA podcast focuses on exploring the many aspects of modern druidry through interviewing druids from many walks of life. She lives in Ontario, where the Canadian Shield meets the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands, and builds and celebrates her connection with her environment through hiking, camping, and canoeing the rivers and lakes in the region.
