This week we continue our discussion of Ogre Battle 64, a sprawling and mysterious strategy game that eventually sheds the need for using strategy all together. It’s also a story of revolution that stops being about a revolution partway through. Whether or not Jimmy actually misses Chuck, or feels bad about what happened between them, is all up for debate. What’s not up for debate is that Jimmy has to put on a big sad smile and stage the biggest display of grief ever. And speaking of grief: we lose Werner Ziegler too soon.

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber was a big game that many, including us, missed out on. It’s a followup to a cult classic RTS for the SNES, and it follows Magnus Gallant, a young noble who ends up leading a revolution against his own kingdom. This is a strange game mostly known for its obscure mechanics, but it’s very much in the vein of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre in its story and presentation.This episode covers the game’s generalities, the prologue, and the first chapter.Big thanks to Will for executive producing this episode!

On Halloween of 1992, the BBC aired a new broadcast that sent the nation into a panic: real life video evidence of a brutal poltergeist at work. At least, that’s what some people thought, especially children. Ghostwatch was fictional, and they said so, but it was so well-done that it remained controversial. The Powerpuff Girls was a fine cartoon. It hit a lot of people at the right age, and its groovy 90s aesthetic was instantly iconic. So it probably deserved a better game than this, a very sloppy brawler and asset hunt. Hell Pie is a spiritual successor to Conker’s Bad Fur day, and a successful one! It’s also not very funny because it’s trying too hard to be transgressive. However, the platforming is kind of on point, which pains us greatly to say.

Jimmy looks for a new job, but gets interested in figurine collecting instead. Kim has some harsh words to share with Howard. Gus explains to Nacho the terms of their agreement.

You make your decision to listen a podcast, you listen while you do not move, you die. You make another decision to listen to a different episode. Yet again, you do not move. You die. But at least you have a few of the meta resources you need to live a little bit longer. This is kind of what playing Loop Hero is like.

Streamer Life Simulator is, believe it or not, streamer slop. An incredibly janky asset flip that tries to skate by on utter charmlessness. It’s also one of many simulator games that doesn’t really bother to make a game out of what it’s simulating. It just slaps a bathroom meter on it. In addition to complaining about this bad game, we talk about various instances of reality breaking down around Gary.

This is the closest you're getting to a Mewgenics episode, folks.
