Egbert's Stone
by by Dominion Press
'Egbert's Stone' exists to rekindle a love for the stories, events, virtues, and faith that built our world. More specifically, it aims to rekindle this love in the hearts of ordinary people, being firmly convinced that the West cannot be saved until it is once again cherished as the unique and precious gift that it truly is. As G.K. Chesterton once remarked of Rome, "Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her." It's high time we recover that kind of thankful, humble love; and in all of it, an even deeper affection for the God whose grace made it possible in the first place. To Him be glory forever. Amen. www.dominionpress.ca

Ep. 2: BEDE | How Christ Conquered the English
In the year of our Lord 597, the gospel of Jesus Christ came to the English, and the world has never been the same. People who once practiced human sacrifice were brought to the knowledge of the true and living God. Pagans, who formerly knew only the utterance of barbarity, began to cry the Hebrew 'Alleluia'. The effects of this event would thunder forth for the next 1400 years, bringing into being one of the greatest civilizations the world has ever seen. Join us as we discuss this great and momentous tale told by one of England's most beloved historians, Bede. Ep. 1: BEOWULF | The Tragic Splendour of the Old Heathen World
Written by a Christian poet surveying a not-so-distant pagan past, the 8th-century poem Beowulf presents to our eyes the tragic splendour of the old heathen world. Centering on the figure of Beowulf, this story recounts man’s futile struggle against a dark and hostile age: an age of blood-lust and vengeance, of monsters and ruin. But as it does, it primes our hearts for the arrival of the King whose light was about to rise on this monstrous world—the King who would speak peace to the nations and whose reign would be from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth. The ancient Danes had yet to hear of this great King, but His coming was as sure as the dawn. As John said, the true Light was coming into the world—indeed, it was here already. And that Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.For more information about this podcast, as well as the work of Dominion Press, visit https://www.dominionpress.ca/ Get full access to Dominion Press at www.dominionpress.ca/subscribe
