Miss Flower
The single out of the new album by Ana Berkenhoff and Michael Holland on Ono records Manchester. Instruments: Little Bits, Plumbutter and distortion by Michael Holland. Mastering by Sam Weaver. Beats with Homeswinger, arrangement and voice by Ana Berkenhoff. get it at http://jcdecaux.bandcamp.com/album/watch-close more about my music: www.anaberkenhoff.com/music on air at: NTS radio London in the show Stigmergy Benefits by Laurent Faron, Radio BBC 3 in the show of Nick Luscombe, Radio futuremusic.fm in the show: TOWARDS THE MARGINS, at The Gravity Waves Show RADIO RESONANCE EXTRA, on Radio Wavefarm New York, in Ralph Lewis`Show and at Tilde Music and Soundart Festival Melbourne. boomkat writes: **Dadaist poetry and music from German artist Ana Berkenhoff and ONO capo Michael Holland ov Islington Mill, Salford. In tribute to Kurt Schwitters - a core influence on the ONO label - Ana riffs on his parody of a love poem, 'An Anna Blume' set to wobbly lower case electronics in six parts. Between them, they blur the lines between poetry and tone poem, with Manchester's answer to Peter Pan coaxing out a gauzy spectrum of eccentric small sounds, lopped beats and radiophonic quarks matched for quirkiness by Ana's contributions; from glossolalic rambles to English translations of the Schwitters' text, because "it is unbearably cheesy in my mother tongue…" according to the artist herself." http://www.piccadillyrecords.com/prod/AnaBerkenhoffMichaelHolland-WatchClose-Ono-105513.html picadilly records writes: Loyal Piccadilly Records customers will be familiar with Ono by now, if you're not I suggest you read some of the reviews on our website of their releases to date. Put simply, Ono is the North West's and possibly England's greatest DIY label / art project. A labour of love by Michael Holland, it's been the platform for many low-key artists hidden in the shadows and without it, it could be argued, the world would be a much more miserable place! Anyway, with great excitement I glanced at the latest release Sounding a little like an Eccentronic Research Council meets Raymond Scott's Mahattan Research Inc meets Cluster, this is a collection of poetry, electronics and improvisation woven together like a tapestry and drawing you in like a tense but beautifully shot thriller. Clangers-esque theramin sine tones, ethnic percussion, multi-lingual poetry, mangled strings - a plethora of idents from an all manner of subversive stylings. Recorded over many days March - April 2015 W/ Roland 303 Groovebox, Zoom H4 Fostex 160 Multitracker, Samplr, Trichord, Plumbutter, Steel on Foam and Littlebits. This is brilliant! I'd thoroughly recommended more reading. &listening. here: http://diskono.jimdo.com/ono-shop/

Exzerpt >< OUR SONGS ><
this is a 10 min. exerpt from a one-hour experimental-musical-radiodrama that I hope to put on vinyl sometime. OUR SONGS song >< experiment I partly grew up at my german grandmother. She grew up between the two world wars and spent her young adulthood in girl-camps helping on farms. Singing kept her alive and able to deal with the hard work. She was called "Singerle". The "Wandervogel" movement influenced her immense song collection, as well as the chansons and hits of her time. My songmaking is experimentation. As long as my grandmother lived I thought I also should know songs. It took a while to realise that songmaking and experimentation is valid too. In this work you hear my very early sounds&songs combined with her singing short before her death. My music was not yet established and refined, her voice was about to leave and a big love connected us. This piece was a liberation from my own expectations to music making, songing and composition. What you hear: broken organ, voice imitating a broken organ, e-piano, synthesiser, rollerblades, guitar, drums, keys www.anaberkenhoff.com/music composition, recordings, songs, arrangement: Ana Berkenhoff in collaboration with: Simon Birgisson, guitar, piano, voice with: Annemarie Berkenhoff, Erich Berkenhoff

Become a perfect performer!
...a performance presentation at Theatertreffen Berlin 2015 In 2014 I developed a durational performance-Installation for the Roskilde Festival/DK. (A collaboration with Savage amusement/Melanie Jame Wolf) Over 4 days the audience could walk through. For one and up to four people I would use some magic devices and true story telling for an amusing show on performing, presence and live portrait painting by old masters. Followed by some visual tricks with a mini-projector :) Here you hear a recording of a short sample of that work- which I performed at the Theatertreffen Berlin this year during a panel about theater and installation.
