A huge fans' favourite is Hera Björk who represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with "Je ne sais pourquoi" and also in 2024 with "Scared of Heights". Also in 2009 Hera Björk tried her luck in the Danish National Final with the song "Someday" which came second to Brink who then represented Denmark at Eurovision in that year. Hera performed her songs to the international fan base at LondonHagen 2026 and also Lindsay D (Dracass) was invited to LondonHagen 2026 kind of on home ground there. Lindsay represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the song "No dream impossible" coming 15th. Like Here, Lindsay has been to many Eurovision Fan events to entertain the many international fans with Eurovision Songs. So well to see how the Eurovision fans old and new are embrassing the Eurovision artists. Listen to this joint interview on the show this week.      Galant (German National Final 2024) at OGAE Germany 2026 Convention Interview with Galant (German National Final 2024):  In 2024, Germany selected their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest by the national final format called Eurovision Song Contest - Das Deutsche Finale 2024 which was won by Issak with the song "Always on the run" and with that represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. The Radio International interview guests on the show this week aare members of the group Galant that competed in the German Final with the song "Katze" coming 5th. Galant were guests on the  OGAE Germany Convention 2026 in Munich, Germany earlier on in January 2026 and Salman and JP took the chance to conduct an interview with Galant you'll hear on the show this week.      The Eurovision Spotlight - The Magic Letter Game: As summer has officially arrived on the northern hemisphere of the globe it means that it is also time for the summer feature for the next few weeks. The summer feature is the Magic Letter Game involving Eurovision Songs which you will be presented by the Radio International Team of Experts :). Beautifully performed with great voice harmonies. Listen to the interview with the group on the show this week.      Klemen (Slovenia 2025) with JP at LondonHagen 2026 Interview with Klemen (Slovenia 2026): In 2025, Slovenia was represented by the very talented singer / songwriter  / comedian / show host Klemen Slakonja (stage name Klemen) with the song "How much time do we have left". Unfortunately, Slovenia ranked Number 13 in Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song COntest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. The Interview Team of Radio International, Marc, Salman and JP met Klemen at the Eurovision Club Germany's annual convention in November 2025 and interviewed him on his participation at Eurovision and his profession in Slovenia. The following year he co-hosted the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest for which he trained for in Germany. Besides of that he speaks fluently German. Eldar was part of the OGAE Germany's Convention 2026 in January in Munich, Germany. JP and Salman had the pleasure to chat with Eldar about his Eurovision adventure and about his career. Enjoy listening to this interview on the show this week.      Satoshi (Moldova 2026) with JP Interview with Satoshi (Moldova 2026):  After a year's break Moldova came back with a bundle of energy to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with Satoshi and the song "Viva Moldova" which in fact opened up the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 being the first song in Semi Final 1. Part of Satoshi's performance was also previous Eurovision entrant Aliona Moon who in 2013 reached Number 11 with the song "O Mie". The Radio International Interview Team met Satoshi at the Turquoise Carpet of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna for a quick chat which you can hear on the show this week.      Silke (Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix 2026) at MelFstWknd 2026 Interview with Silke (Norsk MGP 2026): As part of the Melodifestivalen Grand Final Weekend 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden, the Swedish Eurovision Fanclub organise the annual MelFstWknd with a number of Swedish and international Eurovision artists performing for the many fans that have arrived the the Swedish capital. This year Silke was one of the international acts who was invited to perform her entry she competed with in Norway's National Final the Norsk Melodi Grand Prixin the  Number 9 at MelFstWknd 2026     AleXa  (Winner of the American Song Contest 2022 for Oklahoma  and participant at Melodifestivalen 2026 at MelFstWknd     Interview with AleXa (Melodifestivalen 2026, Heat 5 & Winner of the American Song Contest 2022 - Oklahoma):  Also at the MelFstWknd 2026 was AleAa who competed in Melodifestivalen 2026 in Heat 5 with the song "Tongue Tied" and she won the American Song Contest 2022 with the song "Wonderland" represeting the US State Oklahoma. Germany was represented by a group of young girls called Elaiza who performed the song "Is it right" which came 18th in the Grand Final after the Voting Sequence. Ela was part of the OGAE Germany's Convention 2026 in Jan 2026 in Munich, Germany. JP and Salman had the pleasure to chat with Ela about her Eurovision adventure and about her career. Enjoy listening to this interview on the show this week.  Kurt Anthony and Team at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026   Interview with Kurt Anthony (MESC 2026): The Malta Eurovision Song Contest is the National Final to select that song that will be representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest. The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 was hosted hosted by Keane Cutajar, Destiny Chukunyere (who won Junior Eurovision 2015 and represented Malta in Eurovision 2021) and Gaia Cauchi (who won Junior Eurovision 2013). The Semi Final with 18 artists took place on Thursday, 15 Jan 2026 followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, 17 Jan 2026 from MFCC (Malta Fairs and Convention Centre). Aidan won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "Bella" and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria coming 18th. But listen back to this funny interview which will air on the show this week.      ESSYLA (Belgium 2026) Interview with ESSYLA (Belgium 2026): Belgium has been part of the Eurovision Song Contest since the very beginning in 1956 only missing out participation for three times. In 2026, ESSYLA represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Dancing on the Ice" successfully qualifying Belgium to the Grand Final reaching Number 21. The Radio International colleague Alain Forrotti had the pleasure to meet ESSYLA for an interview during the rehearsal week of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria. Austria was represented by a young Zoe who performed the song "Loin d'ici" which came 13th in the Grand Final after the Voting Sequence. Ten years later OGAE Germany invited Zoe to the annual convention where she performed a concert and of course chatted about her time at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The Radio International Interview Team were on location to conduct an interview Zoe and this will be broadcast on the show this week. Stefan first took part in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2009 with the song "Shake up, Wake up". He is a five-time contestant in the Maltese selection for the Eurovision Song Contest: participating in 2016, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 respectively with his entries "Light Up My Life", "Heartbreaker", "Numb", "Lablab (Talk Talk)" and "Pose". He was also a contestant on the first season of X Factor Malta. Unfortunately, in 2026 he did not qualify for the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest from the Semi Final with the song "Pose". The Radio International Interview Team were on location in Malta and conducted interviews with all the artists and this week listen to the interview with Stefan Galea.    Patrick Jean and Scarlet (Melodifestivalen, Sweden)  Interview with Scarlet and Patrick Jean (Melodifestivalen):  Also Scarlet as well as Patrick Jean were  part of LondonHagen 2026 performing their Melodifestivalen entries to an international audience. JP and Salman had the pleasure to meet and interview both ladies from Scarlet and Patrick Jean in London in the run-up to the show in the evening. Patrick Jean is not only a singer but also a successful songwriter in Sweden and is behind The Mama's Melodifestivalen Winner "Move". In the 2026 edition of Melodifestivalen Patrick entered with "Dusk till Dawn"  Scarlet have been participating in Sweden's Melodifestivalen twice. In 2024, Scarlet debuted at Melodifestivalen with the song "Circus X" which advanced from the Heat to Final Kval where it reached fourth place but only  the Top 2 advanced. Aidan won this contest and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna with the song "Bella" coming 18th. In the afternoon of the Grand Final in Malta a Red Carpet Media Event took place and former Maltese Eurovision personalities also appeared and Radio International's JP took the chance and have chats with as many of the Maltese Eurovision Legends such as Claudette Pace (Malta 2000) - "Desire", Julie and Ludwig (Malta 2004) "On again...Off again", Moira of Chris and Moira (Malta 1994) "More than Love", Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012) "This is the Night", Olivia Lewis (Malta 2007) "Vertigo", Aidan (Malta 2026) and Show Host Moira Delia, just to mention a few. Listen to some more of the interviews on the show this week with Kurt Calleja, Olivia Lewis and Moira Delia.        Eurovision Weekend 2026 - The FanVision Song Contest:  Last weekend 17 - 19 Jul 2026 the Eurovision Weekend 2026 happened in the Bavarian City of Munich in Germany with 14 delegations from the OGAE Network flew in to take part at the FanVision Song Contest 2026 which is just like the Eurovision Song Contest with songs competing for the trophy and the right to host the following Eurovision Weekend. This year the Victory went to the delegation from Poland and their act called United by Gyros and their interpretation of the song that came 6th for Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 called "Alcohol is free" performed by Koza Mostra feat. Agathonas Iakovidis. Below see the results of the FanVision Song Contest 2026. Radio International was on location in Munich and had the pleasure to chat to the three artists who form United by Gyros and won for OGAE Poland the FanVision Song Contest 2026. Bonnie Tyler represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 coming 19th with the song "Believe in me".  Bonnie Tyler had six hits that made the Top 40 charts in the UK and around the world, such as "Lost in France" (9, 1976), "More than a Lover" (27, 1977), "It's a Heartache" (4, 1977), "Married Men" (35, 1979) and "Holding out for a Hero" (2, 1985) among others. But her biggest worldwide hit was "Total Eclipse of the Heart" which reached Number 1 in Feb 1983 which even was covered by Eurovision Royalty Dame Nicki French in 1995 when her cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" came 5th in the UK Charts. Nicki French represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 with the song "Don't play that song again" coming 16th. Due to the sad news of Bonnie's passing away Radio International broadcasts a special tribute on the show this week showcasing her amazing career including her time at the Eurovision Song Contest. Czechia took part 15 times in only six qualifications for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2026, Czechia sent in young Daniel Zizka who very powerful performed the song "Crossroads" reaching Number 16 in the Grand Final. JP bumped into Cesar Sampson who was also invited to this reception and conducted an interview regarding his involvement in Eurovision 2026. Eurovision celebrates 70 whereas Lordi celebrated 20 years after the Eurovision Victory and he did that in Vienna with his supporting monsters being part of the brilliant Interval Act in the Grand Final of Eurovision 2026. JP had the big pleasure to interview Lordi once again after 20 years in Athens. Listen to this chat on the show this week. Lordi delivered some great news in regards with Johnny Logan, who won Eurovision in 1980 and 1987 for Ireland as singer and in 1992 as songwriter.   Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2017) in Vienna at Eurovision 2026 Interview with Kristian Kostov (Bulgaria 2027):  The best-ever result of Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest was until 2025 the entry from Kristian Kostov who in 2017 reached second place with the song "Beautiful Mess". Portugal had won that particular Eurovision Song Contest with Salvador Sobral and the song "Amar pelos dois".  Kristian was in Vienna at the Eurovision Song Contest as being part of the 70 year celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest and performed as part of the interval act bring luck to Dara as she won the 70th Eurovision Song Contest for Bulgaria with the song "Bangaranga".  JP had the pleasure of an update interview with Kristian in the Media Centre of Eurovision 2026 which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International.   Monroe (France 2026)   Interview with Monroe (France 2026):  During the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 the newest member of the Radio International Team, Johannes, went to the French Embassy to interview the Musical Ambassador to France and the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Monroe. She performed the song "Regarde" which ranked 11th in the Grand Final at the end of the voting sequence. The Interview Team of Radio International met the singer at the Turquoise Carpet for a quick update chat you can hear on the show this week.      The Eurovision Spotlight - The Magic Letter Game: As summer has officially arrived on the northern hemisphere of the globe it means that it is also time for the summer feature for the next few weeks. The summer feature is the Magic Letter Game involving Eurovision Songs which you will be presented by the Radio International Team of Experts :). Dermot Manning is starting the brand new series and will explain the Rules of the Game. :)       Kirsti Sparboe (Norway 1965, 1967 and 1969) Tribute to Kirsti Sparboe (Norway 1965,1967, 1969): Late last week the Eurovision Community learned that one of Norway's Eurovision entrant has passed away at the age of 79. Kirsti Sparboe represented Norway not one, not twice but three times in the 60s. In 1965 she reached 13th with the song "Karusell", then in 1967 almost won the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria with the song "Dukkermann" coming 2nd. In 1969 she returned with the song "Oj,oj,oj,sa glad jeg skal bli" coming 16th. Kirsti Sparboe passed away on 19 Jun 2026. Radio International has prepared a special tribute to Kirsti. For the very first time Bulgaria won the competiton with Dara and the song "Bangaranga" receiving a total amount of 516 points combined from Public and Jury Vote. The Radio International Team was on location and had the chance to interviews many of the artists at different places such as Turqoise Carpet, in the Media Centre, at the Embassies as well as in the Eurovillage. They first project is called "Let there be love". Both Swedish artists came to Vienna to perform this song and also others in fron tof the many Eurovision Fans that have visited Vienna and the Eurovillage as part of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. BWO had great hits and took part a few times in Melodifestivalen e.g. "Lay your love on me" and Alcazar had great successes in Melo and beyond as their biggest international hit is "Crying at the Discotheque". The Radio International Interview Team met Satoshi at the Turquoise Carpet. Alexandra Capitanescu (Romania 2026) in Vienna   Interview with Alexandra Capitanescu (Romania 2026):  What an amazing result for the returning Romania to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026: Number 3 for the third time and so far Romania's best result in the contest. In 2005, Luminita Anghel & Sistem came third with "Let me try", and also in 2010 Paula Seling & Ovi took Romania to Number 3 with the song "Playing with Fire".  2023 was the last time that Romania took part in Eurovision until their return in 2026 with a banger. "Choke me" performed by Alexandra Capitanescu and her band reaching Number 3. For the very first time Bulgaria won the competiton with Dara and the song "Bangaranga" receiving a total amount of 516 points combined from Public and Jury Vote. The Radio International Team was on location and had the chance to interviews many of the artists at different places such as Turqoise Carpet, in the Media Centre, at the Embassies as well as in the Eurovillage. Eva Marija represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2026 with the song "Mother Nature" sadly only ending up at Number 12 in Semi Final 20 with 60 points though, the song has a strong message as Eva Marija explains to the Radio International Interview Team at the Turquoise Carpet. But also Alain Forrotti had the pleasure of a more in-depth interview with Eva Marija which you can hear on this week's edition of Radio International this week.  Cosmó, Akylas and Leléka at Eurovision 2026   Interview Clips from the Turquoise Carpet (Cosmó), Akylas, Leléka): The Turqoise Carpet marks the start of the Welcome Ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision Artists walk the carpet in front of the many Eurovision Fans and International Media who conduct short interview clips with the artists. This week listen to the interview clips JP, Marc and Salman did with Cosmó (Austria), Akylas (Greece) and Leléka (Ukraine). The Host Entry from Austria was performed by Cosmó called "Tanzschein" which reached Number 24 in the Grand Final. Leléka represented the Ulraine with the song "Ridnym" coming 9th in the Grand Final and Akylas was the musical ambassador from Greece and performed the song "Ferto" which reached Number 10. This week Alasdair Rendall continues the series looking at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.     Tribute to Pierre Cao, Sophie Garel and Romuald:  Once again sad news hit the Eurovision Community during the month of May as three artists passed away. Pierre Cao was a very famous conductor at the Eurovision Song Contest conducting among others Luxembourg's winning song "Tu te reconnaitras" performed by Anne Marie David. He was also the Musical Director at the Eurovision Song Contests in 1973 and 1974. Pierre Cao passed away on 14 May 2026 at the age of 88. Then Sophie Garel passed away who together with her singing partner Chris Baldo represented Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 with the song "Nous vivrons d'amour". Sophie passed away on 14 May 2026 at the age of 84. And Romuald Figuier passed away on 12 May 2026 at the age of 88 represented although being French Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "Ou sont-elles passees" coming 3rd. In 2026, ESSYLA represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Dancing on the Ice" successfully qualifying Belgium to the Grand Final reaching Number 21. Bzikebi performed "On Replay" reaching Number 15 in Semi Final 1.  Listen to these interview clips on the show this week.   Christer Börkman with JP Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Asia: Interview with Christer Börkman:  During the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 and a Media Briefing it was announced that that Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Asia will be taking place in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 Nov 2026. The venue is IdeaLive and so far these countries are competing in the very first edition of the contest:  Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam (more countries will be added). One of the creative minds behind this new project is Christer Bjoerkman who himself represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 and created Sweden's National Selection to the Eurovision Song Contest - Melodifestivalen in the form as we know it today. Christer retired from Melodifestivalen but still is part of the Eurovision Family now creating Eurovision Song Contest - Asisa. Radio International had the pleasure to chat with Christer Björkman in the Media Centre of Eurovision 2026 in Vienna. Acting Star in the Soap Opera Neighbours now became a Eurovision Star as well with the song  "Eclipse" coming 4th in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. He will perform on Thursday 14 May 2026 in der Wiener Stadthalle. Now 18 years on the three members have grown and once again will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "On Replay".  Radio International's JP had the big pleasure meeting the three once again at the recent edition of the Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam. Listen to the interview on the show week.    Alicja (Poland 2026) with JP at the London Preview Event 2026 Interview with Alicja (Poland 2026): In 2020 when the Eurovision Song Contest was canceled by the EBU due to the Corona Pandemic hitting the globe Alicja had already won her national final in Poland before the Covid outbreak. At that time Alicja Szemplińska she won the national final with the song "Empires". In 2023, Alicja attempted again to get the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "New Home" coming 6th in the Polish National Final.  At long last in 2026 Alicja was chosen to represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Pray".
