Everyday Church Podcast is about sharing stories of the often untold, simple and extraordinary work Churches across Australian communities are doing and why they do it! This podcast is one way to show the true breadth and beauty of the local church. I am the Community Engagement Leader for Australian Christian Churches Movement in NSW/ACT. I am the team chaplain for the professional basketball team the Illawarra Hawks. I am one of the Co-Senior Pastors at Lighthouse Church. I do all these things because I love making faith as as accessible as possible to culture that often thinks it is not.

Paul is a 'global' expert on community engagement and he embodies the everyday church and what it takes to lead one. Paul and I have worked together for a long time and love a laugh – sometimes it is hard to know when we are actually being serious. Several years ago Matt asked his Dad (pastor Kari) could he have a fulltime job at the church his Dad was pastoring. His Dad said no and it became the making of Matt as an entrepreneur, innovator and a great connector in community. Those great learnings are the very thing he now brings to being the senior pastor of that same church on the north coast in NSW. This episode if full of fun & thoughts from Matt on how he approaches the Church in an everyday context. In this episode, my guest is Matt Boulton who is the founder of Circuit Breaker. Circuit Breaker is a short course that gives participants new tools to deal more effectively with anger and conflict. It particularly focuses in on the relationships that are closest to them to restore peace and calm in the home. Whilst we talk about the valuable work Matt does in communities through Circuit Breaker, we also discuss Matt’s short-lived stand-up comedy career, his love for his hometown Logan and his beloved Richmond Tigers. More on Circuit BreakerOver the past 21 years, Matt has developed and delivered his Circuit Breaker program for the early prevention of domestic violence, offering something complimentary to the vital domestic services that exist for victims or survivors of domestic violence. Circuit Breaker is more than a course it is a shame free space for people to talk about if anger is getting the best of them. Many of the stories of participants from Circuit Breaker is that it has changed the whole atmosphere in their home and restored peace, calm and intimacy where they thought it was not possible.
