F.L.A.M.E. Together

Many people have experienced loss. It's safe to say that with all that is going on in the world, there are likely to be many more that will have to grapple with this concept. This term, though familiar to all, is not experienced equally. Loss can leave some in despair, while others feel like they're drowning in grief, and still some may only experience a blip in time. Listen in as Larry and Lakresha discuss what navigating loss looks like to them as they have discovered that there is no "one size fits all" way to respond to this life changing experience.

Being Christian does not exempt us from dealing with choices that are less than ideal and making decisions that are subpar. Nevertheless, God still uses them all to get us right where we need to be! No, we're not talking marriage vows, yet! In the first half of this episode, Lakresha flies solo as she talks about the impact of holding on to old memories and what could have beens. Reminiscing. It's not for everybody. Sometimes going back to memory lane can lead you to the corner of Disappointment and Nightmares. This is exactly why she intends to be intentional with her thoughts. In the second half of the episode, she is joined by one of her flesh-and-blood sisters as they discuss their giants, marriage goals, and why they love to see other people win!

Don't get us wrong, hosts Larry and Lakresha do believe in having a healthy view of yourself but not at everyone else's expense. Although all of these things are true, do you take the time to be intentional when determining what you should listen to? Better yet, do you consider what is being fed to your spirit? Larry and Lakresha are no strangers to music. Like many others, this is one area that they both are passionate about. Yes, it's true. You can spell valentine without love, but should you? Better yet, shouldn't everyday with your significant other be like Valentine's Day? No matter what your take, it's nice to have a universal day dedicated to romantic, often grand, gestures for those who feel so inclined. Listen in as Larry and Lakresha give their perspective on this heavily commercialized "holiday" while chiming in on showing love and affection. 

Love. Is it how you feel or what you do? Many of us know that relationships are not all about one person but we still find it hard not to be self-centered. Why is that? Do we not care enough about our partner? Maybe we just refuse to take the spotlight off of ourselves. Join Larry and Lakresha as they dive into what they have learned about love over the course of their 20 year marriage. They'll tell you how they're learning to listen for understanding while continuing to show up anyway.
